The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 43

The Underground Channel entrance located at the west side of the city, under the bridge, and near the river-dam that streaming steadily towards the end. On the opposite side of the entrance, there was a big dumpsite area that could be seen a little distant from the river-dam. The place was known as West District.
At the dumpsite, he could see some smokes that were flying towards the sky and resembles the clouds as they continued to hover higher.
After Yman stepped in the entrance, he asked his deity to activate the radar.
Sistela replied:
He said: "It's not sudden. It's better to have a perfect mapping from the entrance towards the farthest area that we can reach."
She questioned him.
He scratched his face and replied: "Don't worry, we sure to leave the place before it happened."
Hearing what he said, she resigned then followed what he wants and activated the radar without further retorts.
But she really was worried if she emptied her battery. Because when the battery of the deity was emptied, it also means disconnection with their resonance.
Ding! Something materialized...
12 inches in height and wide window screen reflected in his eyes as it animated before his face in a holographic manner. It was sending luminous brilliance around and slightly illuminating his face and the place.
Inside the screen was a tiny dot of green color. Around it was shaded in darkness, but as he was advancing slowly, the inside of the screen, around the tiny green dot in the holographic screen was slowly forming a map outline that resembles the place he currently in.
The radar had a distance of a 10-meter radius surrounding him. Only within this area the shaded part that was surrounding the green dot was contorting automatically to form a map outline of the unexplored place he was strolling.

Yman slowly dragged the screen on his upper-left side to avoid distracting his vision. Currently, it was floating on the left side, above him. This thing was no doubt his Map Section from his Cyber Screen.
Tak-tak-tak...
The deliberate sounds of his footsteps that slightly echoed the inside of the channel could be heard by the person itself. And sometimes droplets of water from the distance ceiling tickled his ears, sending chill in him which causes his body hairs to stand upright.
Yman was walking in such a place. His hand was gripping the hilt of a sword with odd size. His face was covered by a mask and his body similarly covered by a piece of cloth. He was wearing a pair of brown boots on his feet, which produces some noises whenever his boots landed on the dirty pavements inside the channel.
His trusted partner whispered in his ears out of a sudden.
He smiled wryly and said: "As you can see, this place seemed to be a scene from a horror movie." Yman replied to Sistela and darted his eyes while cautiously scanning his surroundings.
He tried to sound as normal as he could while seemingly unbothered by her question to avoid her from noticing what he truly felt at the moment.
Although there was only darkness around him, it was manageable to see because of the illumination from his Map Section. He could even define the complexion of everything around him.
Sistela asked after noticing his a little quickened heartbeat.
"Of course, not! Maybe you!" Yman strongly denied and throwback the words. He was wondering why this deity of him bothered asking him unnecessary things.
"Then, that's that." He intentionally shrugged off the topic. Though his breathing was steady, Yman was really scared at the moment. Under the mask, he wetted his drying lips.

Sistela whispered again after she noticed some green weeds sticking and hanging on the ceiling and walls of the Underground Channel.
"I-It's just some algae." He replied after his eyes briefly followed to where Sistela mentioned.
Suddenly, his eyes landed on the ground and noticed something.
Using his free left hand, he dragged the Map Section down below to illuminate the ground and have a clear full view of the ground.
|Seemed like the dirty pavements were already littered in dark and brownish stains and were smelling odd.| Although he was already wearing a mask, the bad smell still invaded his nostrils.
|Such a strong penetrative force, huh.| He truly meant penetrative smell.
Yet, he paused for a moment while knitting his brows.
|Wait, why does it smells like some kind of rotting flesh and not muddy smell?| He questioned himself after noticing the oddness in the pungent smell. Then, he scanned further on the pavement floors.
Sistela suddenly screamed out.
Yman shuddered even more upon seeing the bloodied pavements. Certainly, it provoked his trauma from that certain day in his childhood. He suddenly felt goosebumps at this place. His body slightly trembled. He tried to bite his lips inside the mask to dispel such negative thinking that was trying to challenge his weakening braveness.
The inside of the channel was quite spacious for a person to pass. If he did an estimation on it: the wideness was about 5 meters from the walls on his left to the walls on his right, and the height of the ceiling from the ground was about 10 meters tall.
Certainly, he was more scared at the place than the monster itself.
For some reason, he felt like someone was following him. He even felt some cold arms trying to hold his legs. But of course, it just his mind playing tricks on him.
Yman remembered something as he was walking quietly. "My deity, do you have the data of the Evil Rats?" Yman tried to relive the atmosphere by talking with his diety. To lessen the scare he felt at the moment. Yet truly, what he asked her was not just from out of nowhere question. He just forgot to check it awhile ago.
After his question, she immediately answered with:
Hearing her reply, he sighed in relief. It was very helpful in the fight to have the monster's data that you would be fighting.
Yman continued asking her some question that was out of nowhere and unimportant. When she noticed his intention, she annoyingly ignored him and even teased him by scaring him through words.
Yman thought that this deity of him was really a mean one.
There bantering automatically died down when he finally reached a dead-end. At the moment, he was facing the wall that was covered with darkened algae. A small water-passage hole was present below it. But there's no water passing on it at the moment.
Yet, the hole was too small for a person to pass by.
Next second...
Squeak!
He heard some squeaking noises from the other side of the wall. Yman jolted back and readied himself from posible attacks.
