The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 36

The water sprite seemed to be interested in him. It was staring at Yman with its big twinkling eyes.
It looks so cute as it swayed its small head from side to side, and its small finger pointed below its mouth. Seemingly wondering about him. This female water sprite was having long light blue hair down to its feet and light blue gown that well match on her cute figure.
Like a princess, she was sitting on a bubble that was obviously bigger than her body, although this bubble magically did not pop up.
Elder Gatan noticed that one of the water sprites still did not return. He glanced towards the trainees and saw one of his water sprites at the backmost and was in staring contest with one of the trainees.
Elder Gatan narrowed his eyes, slightly interested at that trainee who got the attention of his water sprite.
Yman then lifted the paper in front of him and the water sprite.
Seeing the magical paper, the water sprite was seemingly realized her task. It smiled big at him and saluted, then quickly took the paper on Yman's hand. The water sprite spiraled back to the stage and it handed the paper to Elder Gatan. She waved to Yman's direction before diving into the glass then she turned into ordinary water again.
When all the papers with the information from all the trainees were completely handed back to Elder Gatan, the trainees had been called out on stage one by one.
The first one who got called out was a dime-human with dog ears. He has brown hair and green eyes. With the tall, lithe figure, about 5 feet and 8 inches in height. On his back, a tail with sleek fur was waving downside to side as he walked towards the podium.
The speaker HI Stone De Guz Man instructed him to place his naked dominant hand to the screen surface in front of the big bulb. Then he needed to feed it with his densest mana that he could muster.
After feeding the screen with its mana the giant bulb shone and the color was changing until it stops in bright green color after several seconds.

The elders on stage nodded after seeing the result of what the dog person did. Seeing their nods, it must be a good result.
After he left the stage, another trainee came upon the stage. Then like the first one, he musters his densest mana after placing his naked dominant hand on the screen that was having 12 inches long and 6 inches wide.
The color stop in blue.
Yman guessed that that color represents the element that a magician had more affinity with.
The test proceeded at a steady pace. As time gradually passed, many trainees already went upstage and they deliberately step down after they finished their test, then another trainee would follow to test themselves.
The test results had yet to announce.
The three elders on stage showed different reactions, sometimes they nodded and sometimes just did not.
There was also a time when they had a big smile on their faces, which Yman assumed that that specific trainee had better results than those trainees who came up before her. Of course, because that specific trainee that mentioned was no other than Miss Almina Amulet.
When she placed her soft white naked hand on the screen surface and summoned her densest mana, Yman felt the sun descended. Everyone was awe-inspired at her.
Rather than that, before she even reached the podium many eyes already were stolen by her, not by force, rather by how elegantly lovely stunning she looks.
Regardless, there's a mixture of color on the giant bulb: reddish, bluish, and yellowish that shone brightly. Brighter than those who came up before her.
Yman noticed the widened eyes of the elders after seeing this. One of the elders took a tablet(Elder Paan), might be a magical tool, she scanned on it, and after a few seconds, she whispered to the other elders beside her. Then all of them suddenly showed an understanding looks. But it was clear on their faces that both were surprised and in a good mood.
Yman narrowed his eyes and thought that Miss Almina might not be just beauty and strength. Maybe she was an outstanding person, to begin with.
"Fufu, that's the cool princess for you, she really is an idol wherever she goes." Keremi behind Yman suddenly muttered which caught his attention.

Yman was quite surprised hearing the smiling guy, "do you know her?" He glanced at his back and asked him.
"Fufu, my frog prince —"
"No, skip about the frog prince!" Yman retorted.
"Actually, me, the cool princess, and the blonde came from the same school before coming here in the academy," Keremi told him.
"Really—?" Yman was surprised for what this dude with closed eyes said.
"There was this school that was recruiting children who showed hollow cell symptoms at a much early age," Keremi added.
"A school that recruits children with hollow cell symptoms?" Yman repeated while showing a doubtful face.
"Yes, my frog prince—"
"No, I said drop that way of calling me." He hastily reacted. Then Yman continued, "Regardless, what school did you mean?"
"Elite School of Elementary Magic," Keremi answered directly.
"Hm, Elite School of Elementary Magic?" Bob suddenly middled and repeated Keremi's words.
Bob and Yman had puzzled looked. This name of the school was foreign to both of them. But based on the school name, they must have been taught about initial magic at a young age. In this regard, they were experienced enough before coming to the academy.
Regardless, the bulb showed multiple colors, it also meant that she had the affinity in multiple elements. Based on the color, it must be fire, water, and light.
Yman envied and muttered, "a cool princess. Such a gifted girl, she's almost perfect."
The next who came up on stage after Almina was the blonde girl. Like her, her beauty also garnered much attention from the other trainees. She took her gloves off and after she placed her soft naked hand on the screen surface, it shined as brilliant as Almina Amulet. And the bulb also had mixtures of colors.
The elders were whispering at each other again and showed excited faces.
The test proceeded accordingly. Many trainees already did the test and only a few left. But it still continuing without a hitch.
Some other trainees showed remarkable talents like Almina and the blonde girl. One of them was from the natives, a Demi-Human who was from Encan race, or an elf. She was an astounding beauty with long milky white hair.
There was also another guy who Yman and the others know. It was the cousin of Mai, the guy named Brai. It looks like he acted low-key while traveling but in truth, he also was a rare talent. He also had the affinity in 3 elements. And had high mana capacity based on how brightly lit the bulb was.
Mai on the other hand had 2 element affinity and had normal mana capacity. Same also with Chloe. And the girl who always with Almina.
Bob had the affinity in metal elements and normal mana capacity.
Yman was walking towards the stage. He was excited to know what kind of element he had an affinity with.
He noticed some piercing gazes towards him. But he disregarded it.
"Good luck, my prince!" Keremi's voice reached his ears but he chose not to hear it.
"You can do it, Yman bro!" Even Bob with his loud voice was cheering at him.
Yman made a huge sudden breath before climbing up onto the stage.
Seeing him, Elder Gatan narrowed his eyes. This trainee was the one who was in a staring contest with one of his water sprite awhile ago.
Since the water sprite showed interest at him. He must be not an ordinary trainee.
Almina was looking at the specific guy with a lithe figure and not so tall. He was standing while his back curved slightly. He looks unhealthy from other's perspectives. His messy hair slightly dancing in the air when a light gust of wind passed him.
Looking from afar, he looks like he would crumble with just a little pinch on him.
She noticed him gulped before taking a step on stage. He looks nervous and excited. Silently, she was wishing him good luck. Almina slightly chuckled while looking at him. He looks like he would be going on stage to perform a dance or sing.

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
