The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 18

This time Yman activated the Rapid Leap ahead of time.
He knew that...if he was a little bit late of using his magic, it would bring him no good.
He already estimated the right timing to use his Rapid Leap. And also, he estimated the distance. However, he was not 100% sure that his timing would work. A light was bursting on his feet when he leaped and dove to his right side in a very quick motion using his Rapid Leap.
The two boulders passed through at the hairsbreadth of him. His body rolled two times on the ground and he pushed abruptly his body to stand.
He glanced at the cliff edge and noticed one of the boulders at the very edge.
He narrowed his eyes and ran towards the other side of the cliff where he saw a group trainee ganging up against their enemies.
He needed to run fast. The two mini golems were chasing him. They sometimes throw boulders.
"Rapid—Leap?" Mai muttered.
"That is the same ability used by that beautiful girl, right?" Bob questioned.
"Yeah, and looks like, Yman was lucky enough to get that skill too. Although, Miss Almina was much better in executing the skill," Mai replied.
"Is that skill, that great?" Chloe asked.
"Of course, every skill is great, but it depends on the one using it," Mai answered again.
"Oh, T-that is—right," Chloe mumbled after hearing Mai's reply.
Almina breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that Yman was able to avoid the attack.
"B-Best friend, w-why are you smiling? And why is your face becoming red?!" Beside Almina, Kesha was flustered while staring at her.
"H-Ha? W-What are you talking about Kesha?" Almina awkwardly touched her face.
"Your face is getting red! Are you okay? You're not sick, are you?" Kesha worriedly questioned her.

Cal said but Kesha did not hear it.
"N-No no-no, I'm fine..." Mina reasoned out.
On Kesha's shoulder, her System Deity was sitting on it and was firmly holding her clothes to avoid falling on the ground. He could fly though.
The other trainees were still fighting with their intended target. Some of them managed to defeat their foe and some in equal strength and currently in a stalemate. While some had chosen to give up after they had experienced how difficult it was to kill this enemy.
The other magicians had the upper hand with their magic while the others had a bad match up. It depends on their type of magic if they had the upper hand or not with the enemy they would be facing.
The group of Kiko managed to kill the two enemies out of three, and now only one was left.
Thud! Another monster's attack was defended by an earth shield.
Hah...hah...hah... each of them was gasping for breath.
"Kiko, finish it now, Bro!" Marco shouted to Kiko.
"Y-Yeah!" A bead of sweat trailing down on his handsome face. At the corner of his eyes, he saw that pretty girl Almina Amulet. He felt warm when he noticed that she was looking towards their direction.
Kiko felt motivated and a smile leaked on his handsome face.
Shing! A sound of piercing an air was generated when Kiko lifted up his sword in a quick action using his well-toned arm's muscle.
The tip of his sword pointed to the sky while his hands firmly held the handle. Suddenly, his sword was engulfed by surging fire.
The spectators have focused their eyes on him. Even the instructors nodded their heads and smiled.
"That Kid had some skill," one of the instructors commented.

"That form, could it be... The Earth-Crushing Technique?!!!" Another instructor shouted in surprise.
"Hoy, hoy, hoy... wasn't that skill supposed to be hard to execute. Did he learn it in advance?" An instructor wearing a robe and a straw hat plus a piece of a tree branch in his mouth said in surprise upon seeing Kiko's stance.
"Fufufu, that kid is quite amusing," the female instructor said.
"Mina, look, look at that guy using a powerful skill. And he's quite handsome too," Kesha said to her best friend.
But Mina only took a quick glance before turning back her focus to the person that was trying to escape from the chasing two golems. While her white hands were firmly gripping in front of her well-developed bust.
She was praying that...nothing bad will happen to him. To that person being chased by two golems.
Not far from them...
"What they meant by Earth-Crushing Technique?" Bob was confused upon hearing the instructors' remarks.
"Earth-Crushing Technique was one of the paths in pursuing magic. Skills that belong in this category were mostly explosive with high damage skills and sometimes have an area of effect type of skills, and are supposed to be taught in the academy," Mai explained.
"Explosive skills, heh!" Brai muttered.
"So, that guy had learned it beforehand, what a cheat," Bob said while knitting his brows.
"Uh-uhm...i-is that one of those skills that can be learned through training?" Chloe asked shyly.
"Yes, Chloe, that technique is one of the ancient techniques that can be learned through training, well, we will mostly learn it as well in the academy but that if, if you choose that type of skill category. I heard there are more categories that we can choose upon," Mai replied.
"W-Wow! Miss Mai, you're so knowledgeable in this!" Chloe's eyes glistened like a child that got a new toy.
"Hah! She was an idiot who was infatuated by magic..." Brai said blatantly.
"You!!!" Mai shouted at his face.
Goaaar!!! Their conversation had been cut by the sudden roar of the mini golem.
Kiko was about to slash the grieving mini golem at his front when...
Tap, tap, tap... They heard fast stepping sounds approaching them. They glanced and saw the guy they hated the most.
Kiko scoffed seeing that guy fleeing away from his target and running in haste towards them.
"Hahaha, look... it's him! that dummy is fleeing like a chicken," Marco laughed.
"Puwahaha, this shit cowardly man! Run for your shit life idiot! Puwahahaha!" Bruno yelled while ridiculing him.
"Gyahaha, that guy was thinking he was playing temple run!" One of Kiko's friend added.
Wahahaha! All of them were laughing. Even though they were feeling tired, they still have time to ridicule.
Even the group of instructors that were watching the battle was confused by this kid's action.
The other trainees and the soldiers from the empire were as confused as them.
Yman did not mind their ridiculing words and laughs. He had no time to mind them. The two golems were chasing after him like tails.
Seeing Kiko's stance, Yman sneered at him.

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)
