The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 5

He rushed to climb on the wall surface to peek outside. But before he came near to it, he was halted by one of the soldiers. The soldier was wearing steel armor and a helmet. Only his thick brows, round eyes, and bearded face were showing.
"Hey Kid, what are you doing?! You're not allowed here. Go home, quickly, " said the soldier while showing a worried look on his face. His hands were gripping tightly on his bow. But Yman noticed that his quiver was empty.
He lightly smiled and said, "sorry venerable soldier, I'm here to offer my help," Yman respectfully said.
The soldier couldn't believe what he just heard. How could this young man be able to help in this hopeless situation? Where hundreds of monsters and with a mutated one also were rushing to attack this side of the town wall.
Even with the high-level magicians that were hurling high tier magic to the monsters outside, the monsters were still coming relentlessly. If this goes on, they would exhaust their stamina.
"Kid, the monsters will be able to climb here at any moment. You'd better leave now," said the soldier in a husky tone.
"Venerable soldier, sir, I see hundreds of soldiers currently raining arrows at the monsters outside. How can the monsters be able to climb here in this regard?" Yman said calmly.
"Kid, they won't last long. Look at my quiver. It's already empty. They too will not last long and will empty theirs as well at any moment." The soldier said anxiously, and a sigh escaped from his mouth.
Howling and roaring of battles could be heard at the wall area. Monster's cries and soldiers' spell casting was all over the place.
The pouncing of the monsters that were trying to attack the wooden gate of wall produces creaking noises. And the soldiers were running wildly while shouting.

There were only noise of battle with a mix of fears, sorrows, and despair, it was such a chaotic scene, but all of these things that were happening at the moment were a common scene in this era, in which monsters and magic exist.
Just a small wrong move, and it cost them, their dear life. The injured soldiers were being carried by their comrades out of the battle while the other soldiers took their positions to maintain the formation.
Yman glances at the soldiers firing arrows up ahead on the wall surface. Then he opened his mouth again, "Venerable soldier, sir, even if I run now, it just a matter of time before they plague the whole town. In this regard, there's no safe place to hide. My demise was already on a plain sight wherever I go." He said.
"Hah, you're good with your word, kid, but. As long as you're alive, who knows what will happen next. Maybe there's a saving grace at the end," replied the soldier in a husky tone.
He was actually a kind person. Yman's honest feeling towards the soldier. It was rare to find someone like him.
After listening to the soldier's word, he smiled. With a smile on his face, he opened his mouth once again, "the truth Sir, I'm here to offer a saving grace to all in the lowest possible price." He said in a low tone.
The soldier slightly wrinkled his brows. He wondered what this kid was saying. Offered a saving grace? At the lowest possible price? Wait, is he a vendor who tried to sell something in this chaotic situation? The soldier's mouth curled downward.
"Listen, kid, there's no point in selling something now, and no one will be able to buy anything." The soldier said while shaking his head.
But, Yman's mouth showed a smile instead. In these kinds of attacks, archers were playing an important role, though Mage type magicians have powerful attacks, they don't have an unlimited source of magic. Magic of the high tier needs more stamina to cast. So, Mage type magicians were easy to get exhausted, and they were not suitable for lengthy battles.

Unlike the Archer type magician, they only need to generate a low tier magic, which is hardening, to strengthen and harden their arrows. As long as there's more supply of arrows, they were able to support the vanguard for longer.
Both sides suffered losses. When Yman glanced at the soldiers firing arrows and magic, he couldn't help thinking, "what a mess."
"No, venerable sir, just like what I already said, I'm here to offer you all..... a saving grace." Without letting the soldier answer again, he opened his Cyber Screen.
(Cyber Screen- is a holographic window interface.)
After opening his Cyber Screen, he went to the storage section, which is called Cyber Storage. Then he took something out of it.
The soldier he was conversing with widened his eyes in disbelief after seeing the things he took from his Cyber Storage.
The soldier was also surprised after learning that this kid was not an ordinary civilian. He was a Magician like him! Only Magicians could open their Cyber Screen from out of thin air, while ordinary people needed a mobile gadget to access their Cyber Screen.
He thought the kid was an ordinary human because he couldn't see a deity with him. For real? This magician walking casually without his System Deity?! The soldier had thought if the kid in front of him had treated his System Deity as a toy. Though he hoped that his thinking was wrong, it still bugged him to see a Magician casually strolling in this chaotic battlefield without their System Deity in tow.
But the most reason he widened his eyes was the stuff that the kid pulled out from his Cyber Storage.
A quiver that is full of arrows.
"This venerable sir, every quiver has 10 'arrows inside. Each quiver costs 10 gold points only," he said calmly.
"Too expensive!" The soldier exclaimed and gaped his mouth.
"Fufu, you're wrong, venerable sir, these arrows were made from a rank B+ Demon Wood. So the prices of these arrows are reasonable," Yman said with narrowed eyes.
The soldier took one of the arrows and examined it. He tried to pinch it, then rolled all over his palm.
Second later, "aren't these arrows made from rank -C Demon Wood instead? Look, it tilts easily," the soldier said doubtfully while trying to bend the arrows.
Yman scratches his head while thinking this soldier was not easy to dupe, huh. But too bad for him, because the one who offered him was also not the type that was easy to give up.
"Fufu, venerable sir, if you still did not believe what I just said, why not try to feed it with your mana?" He said with a sneer.
Though the soldier was a little hesitant, yet he followed what Yman said. A brilliance of yellow-colored energy suddenly enveloped his palm. It crawled towards the arrow on his hand.
However, after it fully enveloped the arrow, it hardened like a superalloy. It became unbendable and inflexible all of a sudden.
The soldier's mouth gaped after the trial. He wondered how such a thing happened. He assumed the arrow was made from rank -C Demon Wood.
He didn't notice when Yman's mouth curved into a grin.

Soul of the Warrior
In a world where Classes, Stats, and Levels are the everyday norm, Reivyn has a secret. He was unusually aware of his surroundings from an incredibly early age, and Skills and Stats were acquired easily. He was just the son of an ordinary village family, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary on the surface. But below the surface, dreams of another life help shape his mentality and growth. Why does he have some remembrance of a past life, and what is his purpose in this new one? "Soul of the Warrior" is what I call a Semi-Isekai LitRPG. I say "semi," because Reivyn's past life is remembered like a dream, and very incomplete. It is still Isekai, though, as he remembers enough that it directly shapes his personality and his sense of self. The System that governs the world of "Soul of the Warrior" is a combination of modified versions from Selkie's "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons" and Kosnik4's "Magic Smithing." I have changed enough of these Systems and combined them in a way that is unique that I'm mostly sure it's fine, but I still have requested permission to use these ideas. They have both graciously granted me permission. Winner of the April Writathon Challenge. Release Schedule is Mon, Wed, Fri on Royal Road.
