Hidden Wife : Best Husband Chapter 405

They only came down the mountain when the sun had set. This time Park Soo Hyun did not invite Soo Yin to cross the same as when they came.
If they went through the road from earlier, it would be too dangerous because it was slowly starting to snow. The stairs will be slippery and difficult to pass. Park Soo Hyun thought the risk was too big, so he decided to take another route even though the distance was quite long.
The path they took on their way out was a shortcut. Whereas now it took twice as long to get to the bottom. Park Soo Hyun was only worried about Soo Yin. If he were alone, he would probably still go that way.
For now they had to pass through the residential area at the foot of the mountain first. Only then will they arrive on the highway.
"Why didn't we take the road from earlier?" Soo Yin said. The hairs on her neck felt goosebumps when she heard the night animal sound. It sounded very eerie plus the sound of the wind blowing the trees.
They had been walking for half an hour but it was still quiet. There were no house lights in sight. There was no one they met on the street. Maybe it was because it was so cold that no one came out. Luckily Soo Yin was carrying a thick coat.
Several times Soo Yin almost slipped because she stepped on the steep pebbles. A chill began to penetrate to the core of her heart. Soo Yin rubbed her hands together to reduce the chill that had spread throughout her body.
Park Soo Hyun immediately took off his coat, then put it on Soo Yin's shoulder.
"Sorry, we have to come home late. We shouldn't have accepted Teacher Cheon's offer to eat," said Park Soo Hyun with a low sigh.

After eating they chatted and didn't realize they had been there for too long.
"It's okay," said Soo Yin while putting on a sour face. Luckily it was dark there so Park Soo Hyun didn't see the look on her face.
"Are you afraid?" said Park Soo Hyun.
"Hmm, a little," said Soo Yin.
They only used a cell phone flashlight brought by Park Soo Hyun.
What was on Soo Yin's mind right now was how she will deal with her husband. Dae Hyun must be very angry because she left secretly with Park Soo Hyun. At this moment, Soo Yin felt like she wanted to cry.
"Ouch!" cried Soo Yin who slipped from stepping on something sharp. She then sat down because her leg hurt.
"Soo Yin, did it hurt?" Park Soo Hyun then squatted down and lit up Soo Yin's feet.
Turned out that her feet was injured and bleeding. It was because she was stepping on a pointed rock.
Park Soo Hyun panicked, so he tore off his coat to bandage Soo Yin's feet.
"Does it still hurt?" said Park Soo Hyun while blowing the wound which was already covered with cloth.
"It's okay, just a little," Soo Yin said while wincing at the pain in her wound. Slowly she tried to get up.
"Soo Yin, let me carry you," said Park Soo Hyun.
"No need," Soo Yin refused firmly. Even in an urgent situation, Soo Yin would not want to. She must maintain the trust Dae Hyun had given her. Although this time without realizing it, Soo Yin had violated it.
Soo Yin continued to walk slightly limp, with all her might to endure the pain.
Park Soo Hyun just sighed in resignation because Soo Yin kept refusing the help given to her. He thought positively, maybe Soo Yin felt bad.

Park Soo Hyun walked behind Soo Yin because the path they were on was not too wide.
Not long after, slowly the lights of the residents' houses began to appear so they could breathe easily. That meant they'll arrive soon.
But the snow was falling harder and harder so Park Soo Hyun invited Soo Yin to take shelter first in a small hut in the border between a residential area and the edge of a dense forest.
"Why is it snowing harder and harder?" Soo Yin looked up at the pitch black night sky. Right now, her body was shivering, plus her aching legs made her feel like she couldn't even walk again.
"Come here," Park Soo Hyun said, while reaching out his hand to hug Soo Yin. But he was doubtful if Soo Yin wanted to so he pulled his hand back.
Sure enough, Soo Yin distanced herself from Park Soo Hyun even more and more so that there was a distance between them.
Park Soo Hyun was in awe of Soo Yin. It turned out that Soo Yin was indeed different from the others. The woman who had been close to him was actually looking for opportunities to be close. There was nothing wrong with loving Soo Yin who didn't want to be approached by any man.
"Is it still far?" Soo Yin turned her face to look at Park Soo Hyun. Tried to break the awkward atmosphere that had been going on for a while.
"It's not too far, it shouldn't be long before we get close to the highway," said Park Soo Hyun.
Soo Yin really wanted to get home to hug Dae Hyun. She felt her heart beat faster when she was near him. She really felt happy when she remembered him.
Soo Yin then put her feet on the ground. The flat ground made her body unbalanced until she finally fell to the ground.
"Ouch!" Soo Yin groaned.
"Soo Yin!" Park Soo Hyun then helped Soo Yin to sit back in the hut.
At the same time there was a bright light towards them. Park Soo Hyun's current position was right in front of Soo Yin so it was as if they were kissing.
"What are you guys doing there?" shouted one of people, who turned out to be a villager who was walking around.
They looked very angry as they looked at Soo Yin and Park Soo Hyun.
Soo Yin's body immediately trembled at the arrival of the villagers. She had a bad feeling about it.
"We are waiting for the snow to stop, sir." Park Soo Hyun tried to be calm.
"Lies, you guys must be a couple who will do something nasty in our village!" another one shouted.
They all consisted of 10 men. With their expressions that looked scary.
"No, we didn't do anything," said Soo Yin shakily. The cold air had now been replaced by hot air that had begun to infiltrate the pores of her skin. Now her body began to sweat cold.
"Arrest them to be punished!" said the residents in a very angry tone.
"Sir, let me explain. We're really not doing anything here. We're just taking shelter." Park Soo Hyun stood in front of Soo Yin as the citizens drew closer to them.
"Many couples have said that even though they've been caught doing something nasty."
"Just drag them!"
"We have to teach them a lesson so things like this don't happen again."
"It's a good thing that we came quickly. If it was even a little late, they might have already done it."

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).

Modern Magic
A Modern Magician BookI looked up at the crooked holo sign while the perfectly bred woman read from a paper, a plastic smile glued to her face.'Welcome to The City,' she said in a fake voice. 'Once formerly known as New York, The City is a place filled with ancient and modern wonders. Remember, if you see any magicians please report to the nearest police station or Black Hand officer.'I smiled at the sign and then raised a single finger. No, not the middle one. A blue misty light spun from my finger and into the holo device. The message quickly changed from the fake woman to one of my own.'Welcome to The City,' the woman read, her hair now dyed a fuchsia. Her eyelids were a dark blue and her bottom lip and right eyebrow were pierced. 'A special message from Hecate, queen of magic.' The woman looked up at me, a smirk playing on her lips. 'Welcome to my city.'
