Master Of Voracious Beasts Chapter 22

All of Jomel's worries about the war were eased by the numbers of his new Soul-Beast.
The only downside is that Earth-Type moves or assaults are ineffective. And it's fine, especially the imbued move sets and Quick Swordplay movements.
Jomel recalled that a Soul-Beast of Legendary rank did not have those physique stats. Is this some kind of mythical or semi-mythical creature...? He does not know, and the only thing that irritates him is that he can only do it as necessary because it is in evolution.
The statistics of this guy were quite strong compared to the average legendary Soul-Beast so what will happen if it grew..?
And then,
*ping*
Like he remembered something. This guy doesn't have a name. "I will call you now, Motus.."
He nodded "You are now Motus badger, which is a Latin word of emotion since you like extreme emotions.."
Jomel knew he only had one and half-day before he was sent to the battlefield. Luckily he used nothing about copying his soul beast crocodiles' hidden talent and one move.
So without further ado he copied the Hidden Talent of Motus the Tenacious, he won't be killed by instant 1 hit K.O attack by this thing using the chance he got from the crocodile, And the second he copied the precognition to make his awareness and senses become stronger and develop a plan in instantly.
Crocodile's Soul-Beast Room was still inhabited because Motus had most likely eaten it. He found that there is only a sliver of it intact.
The crocodile's ability was incredibly valuable to Jomel; it could pierce through any obstacle, but it would be a shame if it disappeared. According to the knowledge he had, once a Soul-Beast died, their Soul would remain, even if their body vanished into nothingness, which is why they are called Soul-Beast.
Then there's the spirit breaker.
He has no recollection of contracting, and Motus most likely swallowed him with its soul, since they are made with deep sorrow and despair, from a soul that died unwillingly. And that would be Francis Jomel dazed for a long time, remembering his promise to him.
Even though he can't be good or evil, he will still keep his promise since he knew the feeling and what's it like, of loving a little sister.
That's why he truly needs to go to war and gain strength so he can have the power to at least seek the little sister of Francis. But if he finds her, he decided he will act as Francis to stop breaking his little sister's heart.

He knew he would probably cause some complications inside him, but he will never regret it.
*Thump* *Thump* *Thump*
"So this is a Soul-Beast Tamer, you have gained two of my hidden skill... Congratulations..." A voice was heard when the heartbeat sounded.
"I thought you are Sleeping Motus..?"
"That's my name..?"
"Yes.."
"Not a bad one, I like it.."
"I'm glad you like it.."
"Rehehehe... I'm going to go back to sleep now, contractor.." Jomel suddenly looks up and noticed that his surrounding has changed. It's fast, but he can perceive every single detail around him and can come up with anything. His body felt now lighter and fit. So using his right arm he made a fist...
*Swerve* *pack!!*
The air was whipping at Jomel's fist, which made him happy, but he also needed time to get used to it.
He now recalls someone with the same skill in the past, which is why he chooses this Talent; it is an anime where alchemists are celebrated, and the person Jomel recalls is the guy who was a villain but an incredibly excellent swordsman with two swords that he is carrying in his left and right hands.
Let's talk about swordsmanship.
Jomel recalls he can also learn two movements.
Jomel deliberated for a long time before deciding on the Fast Swordplay and Corrosion movements.
Quick swordplay will make him a good sword wielder instantly and the Corrosion shakes poisons and imbued them to the user, so he will not have to worry about the Poison dangers from his surroundings.
After all, the precognition ability is not that Over Powered he can still be hit and be blocked by any obstruction as it happened to the villain guy from that anime where he was pierced through on his blind spots by piercing the old man he is fighting with of the other one officer he is fighting with too.
"KAHAHAHA how are you Kidd-erghh...?" The tall Vietnamese Officer after Jomel is done allocating his abilities and strength.
"Decapitated arm and a tattoo with a dead color show that your Soul-Beast earlier died... is it..?" The tall man asks jomel seriously.
"Obviously.." Jomel replied with an exasperated expression.
They observed him a minute and muttered "Death of Soul-Beasts in Taming, but can still act like its nothing... hmmm.."
The officer is convinced that this guy is Special.

A glint of red eyes appeared in his eyes. "Mestroda scan him.."
The officer said without waiting for Jomel to react.
*Beep*
Francis ( Soldier )
Beast: Bone Chomper
Tamer: Level 31
Type: Standard
Melee Combat attack: 31 combat power
Ranged Combat attack: 25 combat power
Melee Combat Defense: 39 combat power
Range Combat Defense: 40 combat power
Speed: 34 combat power
Hidden Talent: None
Moves: None
Jomel was taken aback that they couldn't see Motus' step sets and latent talent on his numbers.
"A physique that became stronger because of the combustion of Soul-Beasts in a fight, that's natural... most of the time something like this happens." Jomel could distinctly hear the officer muttering about something.
"There's nothing wrong about it, but most soldiers should have been severely wounded rather than this soldier... This Soldier means he's the one I've been looking for. A courageous soul."
"I'm going to give you everything, soldier." The Vietnamese officer questions Jomel abruptly.
"What exactly is it?" Jomel was fascinated by this.
"I can help you in any way I can, heal your hand, and offer you anything... In exchange, you will do something for me that is incredibly dangerous.."
"I couldn't refuse since I'm just a normal soldier.." Jomel replied.
"I want you to tame a dangerous Soul-Beast and you could die anytime, A Legendary one that only families has.." the officer continued" so are you up for it...?"
Jomel was about to refuse because if it's about the danger of his life, he better not do it but "Don't worry, about it, I'll scare it away as long as you don't disturb me in the future.."
Jomel heard Motus speak again, that he thought about loneliness and attention.
This guy keeps chatting about his sleep but is always interjected whenever he feels like it.
"Alright.." Jomel straightforwardly accepted the officer's condition that made the officer curious and asks "Why...?"
"Because if I'm sent to war then without a Soul-Beast I would probably die, anyway.."
"KAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's the spirit but first, go heal and replace your hand.." A minute later Jomel hand was healed. Jomel clenches it to get used to it.
*Ggulloo* *Gulloooo*
"Can I eat first..?"
"Go ahead, you still have a day and a half to be sent to the battlefield, you got plenty of time."
*Kachaa!*
The door opened, and a lot of meat and food was delivered.
The officer just looks at it like nothing means he is completely used to it. Even the combustion of Soul-Beast was completely normal to him.
*Munch*
*Munch*
Jomel ate an entire table of food. He didn't know where it went, but the hunger inside him subsided. Now he could talk and reflect.
"Are you finished?"
"Yes, sir."
"Now go find something to wear; I don't like it when people look down on me when I'm standing next to a cave dweller."
"All right.. tch." Jomel clicked his tongue, thinking, "This man is such a big girl."
He was entirely overlooked by the cop, who instead ordered him to hurry and carry a knife. Jomel, dressed in a military dark blue jacket, took two swords.
Looking up at himself in the mirror, he liked the way he looked now, totally badass, like the villain from the alchemy anime.
"Are you done, kiddo?"
"Yes"
"Come on"
Jomel and the tall Vietnamese-looking officer walk outside.
In the door, there is a guy, standing with his eyes closed.
He is the first officer that took Jomel to this facility. "Mozar, are you going to take someone again to die..?"
"KAHAHAHAHA Renil it's not my choice" Mozar pointed his thumb at the back, toward jomel.
"What about you soldier..?" The Renil guy spoke to jomel so seriously.
"I'm going to die anyway without a beast.. plus he healed my severed hand and gave me a new one.. so at least I will help him out a little in this issue of his.."
"Then good luck I hope that this will not be your end Soldier.." The Renil guy said with a helpless voice.
"KAHAHAHA! There's nothing you can do about it Renil that guy is determined to do it.." Mozar said while laughing maniacally.
Renil just ignored him "If you survive or not, I will have to erase your data for your safety.. and your family if you have one.
General Mozar will explain it to you, soldier.."
"Aye, sir!!.." after that the guy who was blocking the door left. Jomel and General mozar left the facility.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
