I'm aware that Kanna didn't shout, however I needed to put (!) Which is necessary to convey emotions.
Having (!) Doesn't mean she has to shout, there are many emotions that could be interpreted here, it doesn't mean it has to be shouting.
===
Tohru and Kanna were sitting together on the dining table, Kyle and Kobayashi were seated on the opposite side.
Tohru opened her mouth first, introducing the little ball of cuteness. "Let me introduce her once again, this cute little girl right beside me is Kanna Kamui and she's a good friend of mine from my home world."
"I kind of figured it out but she's really a friend of yours huh." Kobayashi San nodded and glanced at Kanna for a moment.
"Tohru-sama went missing, so I came looking for her."
"Went missing?!" Kobayashi San was surprised, she didn't know about this information, Kyle remained silent though, he knew about this and more. However, he didn't know the exact details, just the general summary of Tohru's story and the plotline. Many finer details were already forgotten by him.
"Tohru, you should have let your friends know before leaving." Kobayashi San scolded her a bit.
"That's right Tohru, they might be worried about you." Kyle softly added as he looked at Tohru.
Tohru smiled wryly and apologized. "Sorry."
Kyle paused and pondered for a bit before continuing. "Even if you don't inform your friends, you should at least inform your parents about your well being, lest they might be worried sick about you."
Tohru flinched visibly when Kyle mentioned about her parents and replied in a shaky tone, sadness visible in her quivering voice. "I'm afraid not… my parents aren't exactly the lovely, gentle parental type… they might not even care if I died..."
"Huh? Really? Then nevermind… I won't talk about your parents then."
"Thank you." Tohru glanced at Kyle shyly and smiled brightly at Kyle's understanding, she was grateful that Kyle didn't ask about her past, she wasn't ready to share it yet.
Kanna suddenly interjected in their conversation. "Tohru-sama, why are you in such an outfit? Come home with me... Tohru-sama I need you, Tohru-samaaaa!!"

Tohru glanced at Kanna and added softly. "I have decided, Kanna, I'm not going home."
"Why not?"
"Because….." Tohru glanced at Kyle, her face turned slightly crimson, a blush adorning her pale cheeks, there was longing and adoration visible in her eyes, her body fidgeting in want.
Kobayashi San noticed this immediately. "Hehh…."
She made a shitty grinning expression, meanwhile Kanna got confused, she wondered 'Why is Tohru-sama blushing? Perhaps..'
Kanna followed the line of her sight and realized that she was peeking at Kyle's direction.
"So it's you… the reason why Tohru-sama won't come home… in that case I will kill you if I must...!" Kanna leaked intense bloodlust, directing it at Kyle.
She was absolutely serious about killing him, she might look like a child around the age of eight-nine but her kill count was only surpassed by Tohru which basically means in the thousands.
Kyle could feel her bloodlust, but he remained unfazed. He knew that nothing will happen to him.
"Diiee!!" Kanna pounced at Kyle, raising her palm she attacked him.
The attack connected and… he felt nothing, he spoke in a bored tone. "Is that all?"
"I'm not done yet! Take this and that! Why you..!!" Kanna continued her childish hammering ahem- constant attack on Kyle.
'This is more like massage than an attack.' Kyle mused inwardly.
Few minutes of childish tantrums later, Kanna stopped, she felt tired and gasped for breath, after regulating her breathing she spoke quiveringly.
"Hah… hah... you're strong!"
"Strong my ass! You're just too weak!" Kyle rebutted harshly.
Tohru stared at Kanna intensely and asked. "Kanna, you've become weak, did you lose your powers?"
Kanna jolted but still nodded weakly, glancing at Tohru still catching her breath, she spoke between pants. "You're the odd one here, Tohru-sama..! The mana purity here is too low! How can you still gather so much power?"
Kobayashi San noticed a detail in between her talks, so she asked. "Kanna-chan, do you mean you can't go home anymore?"
Kanna jolted visibly, her heartbeat accelerating in panic. She couldn't admit it. She'd never admit it.
"Th-that's not true!'
"It's not? But you don't have anywhere to stay, right?"

This time Kobayashi San's words were like a thunderbolt in the ears of Kanna making her tremble and shudder!
"Come on, look at me in the eye and answer." Kobayashi San's dead like eyes were scaring Kanna who was a mighty dragon, she was sweating profusely, horrified by that intense stare.
She was too scared, at this rate she was about to cry if Kobayashi San didn't take her eyes away from Kanna, Tohru was about to stop her lest she might scare Kanna to death.
Before she could however, Kyle beat her to it. "Oba-San, you're scaring Kanna looking at her so intensely. Did you forget about these damn eyes of ours? It can scare someone to death, so stop staring at her already."
"Huh? Really?"
Kyle rolled his eyes at his aunt's negligence. It was hard to believe she didn't notice it. He knew that she was trying to be gentle to Kanna, asking about her condition worriedly, but those damn eyes, a telltale heritage of their accursed family, was simply intimidating Kanna, scaring her till she became teary eyed.
This time Tohru spoke. "Kanna, please tell us what you're planning honestly."
With teary eyes, Kanna decided to speak while sniffing. "Actually…."
..
..
..
"So you were exiled for a prank?"
"Kanna does love pulling pranks a lot."
While they were talking Kyle was feeling a sense of Deja Vu, he could tell he heard this conversation before, so this should be heading at…
He stopped paying attention to their talks and spoke straightforwardly. "Hey, hey Kanna-chan do you want to live with us here?"
"Huhh?! It's my apartment you know, you can't just invite someone like that?! I'm the one who was supposed to say that!"
"Don't mind the little things Oba-san, I can't really invite her to my place now can I? Moreover, your apartment is bigger than mine."
"That excuse again... however I can't refute that part."
"That's right you can't refute it, so shut up!" While they were debating with each other Kanna suddenly spoke out.
"I-i don't trust humans!"
Kyle's attention shifted to Kanna as he asked. "Why?"
"Because you're probably plotting something!"
"I'm not."
"You're trying to use me!"
"No, why would I use a kid that can't even beat me?"
"Guh..!" Kanna couldn't refute that, she lost because she was extremely powerless right now.
"I-i just don't trust you humans!"
Kyle sighed deeply and smiled at Kanna. "Well, I can understand why you don't want to trust me, I'm just a stranger you've only met today, it's natural to not trust me, but Kanna-chan, I'm not asking you to trust me, I'm just asking you to live in this apartment with us and Tohru, you trust her right? She won't let anything happen to you so stay with us okay?"
Hearing Kyle's soothing voice full of brotherly affection, Kanna's last inhibitions broke, the pent up feelings inside her chest broke out in the form of a loud rueful crying."Uwaaa! Sniff~ uwuuu.."
Kyle unconsciously dropped on his knees, patted her head and hugged her in his arms, he felt like he had to do this, in order to pacify Kanna.
Kobayashi San was smiling behind him, her expression filled with pride directed at her nephew, she jokingly said. "I never thought you could say something so mature at your age Kai-chan, that's pretty unlike you."
"Oba-san be quiet, you're ruining the atmosphere here!" Kyle retorted softly, still patting Kanna, pacifying her sadness.
"Ahahaha, alright alright however you still didn't ask for my permission though."
"All I did is just stated the inevitable, if I didn't you would've so I spared you the words you would've spoken anyways."
"Sigh~ that's right, you know me too well, you damn brat."
"Heh, I didn't live with you for the last 10 years for nothing Oba-San! I know you more than you know yourself."
"I wasn't complimenting you." Kobayashi San added drily.
"I took it as a compliment." Kyle joked with exaggerated theatrics.
"Whatever." Kobayashi San gave up with a sigh.
From this day onwards, Kanna was going to live with them.

Techno-Heretic
Eli is an ancient man sentenced to death for the crime of surpassing the sacred number of 32.8, which is the allowed percentage of increased mental ability from the use of AI chips. As he journeys through death and into a world of fantasy and magic, he finds himself approaching never before seen heights of magical power and ability. Powers that will shape the world and would see him go down in legends for generations ever after. But just because someone acquires magical abilities, that doesn't mean magic is suddenly the most important thing in their life. Some people aren't looking to be all-powerful gods, have the world bow at their feet, or spend their days obsessing over accumulating ever more power. Some people just want acceptance, stability, and the warmth of their loved ones to drive away the cold loneliness of the night. And in a world where magic is the bedrock of society, where magic is what determines who is preferred for siring children, where people with high magical ability are destined to live in great luxury and those without magic simply live to make due, this difference in values and perspective could not have a starker contrast. As Eli and the people around him navigate the misconceptions and deceptions of this world, he will represent a great and magnificent future for the human race. One where humanity will stand above the elves, dwarves, orcs, fairies, and all the horrors of the world. Sadly, men's tools are as fallible as the people who make them, and in a society where the potential of an individual is determined solely through their magical level, this seed of promise may yet turn venomous. The Many Blades of Wuxia
Hundreds of years after the Heretic wars ended, life has returned to its blissful ignorant state that only peace could bring. Whilst the never-ending war between Man, Beast and Mutant rages on, most are not even aware of a war that happened between men. Its prophecies shattered, their remnants surviving only in obscure bard tales. One is about to grow. On the cracked face of the world, Essence storms and Beast Waves keep the citizenry locked atop the Emperor city of Qaelang. Knowledge of the past is as rare as the metals that flow into the hands of Sacred Artists and at the root of it all are whispers of a malignant force, ancient and terrible. Holding humanity back from achieving greatness, but hiding too are secrets best left untouched. Balance, discipline and order have held Qaelang secure since time immemorial, the powers within claiming to adhere to them. None are more fearful of change than the ones with the most to lose, but change is coming. Blade of Wuxia is a long character-focused epic fantasy with progression and growth. It's about a boy's quest to become powerful enough to save those he cares most for and give them a better life. It's set in a world of hidden pasts and uncovering them will set him on a path that shakes the Empire. As this is a rewrite that took on a wildly different spin, reviews are most welcome and help me do better. What can the reader expect? A Wuxia society set in a High fantasy world. People are only doing what they know and may have mistaken beliefs. A clever resourceful protagonist with human flaws A far-reaching hidden fantasy world, rich in history. Multiple points of view are used to follow the story to its natural conclusions, not every NPC has all the answers, but there is one MC in this book. Progression will take time and sometimes even unknowingly. MC is not trained in the ways and knowledge must be tempered against experimentation. Release Schedule. 2 chapters a week, family and work permitting. Only if I'm happy with the chapter will I release it. That being said I am open to revision should an articulated critical response show merit. This story is not completed yet but I do have a general idea of what the end looks like for both MC's (yes both) Ultimately feedback will be most influential on the progression of release as it's you guys I'm looking to entertain. Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.
