Chapter 375: Lin Jin Is Angry
Chapter 375: Lin Jin Is Angry
Lin Jin’s brows furrowed.
While he had indeed, left one of his needles in the young woman, with someone deliberately trying to remove it, the aural disruption meant that Lin Jin couldn’t gauge the situation over there. Who would have thought that someone would kill Du Lianxi first?
And that wasn’t all.
The air was heavy with the foul, metallic stench of fresh blood. Lin Jin went over and lifted the blanket covering the corpse. Sure enough, Du Lianxi’s abdomen had been sliced open and her organs had been removed. Someone had taken the eight-headed viper away.
Lin Jin raised his hand to recover his needle only to realize that it was covered in rotten blood. This must be the substance that was disrupting his signal.
In an instant, Lin Jin’s expression darkened.
He had underestimated his enemy.
If only he had taken more precautions, this poor girl wouldn’t have had to die.
But it was too late to say anything now.
“Sh*t! It’s Yang Qingshi!” Lin Jin glanced at Du Lianxi’s delicate but now colorless face with gritted teeth.
After covering her face with the blanket, Lin Jin walked slowly out of her room. Then, without another word, he got onto a cloud and headed straight for headquarters.
He had to settle the score with Yang Qingshi.
That cruel bastard! Even if he wanted to take the eight-headed viper away, he could’ve done it without killing her! The man had only taken her life out of frustration and anger.
Lin Jin had zero tolerance toward people like him.
Not only would he make sure that Yang Qingshi was dead, but Lin Jin would also ruin his reputation after his death!
Lin Jin was in uncontrollable fury.
He rushed back to headquarters and without a single moment of delay, he tracked down the appraiser on shift to inquire Yang Qingshi’s whereabouts.
Headquarters kept records on every appraiser so it was given that they knew where he lived.
“Where is Yang Qingshi’s residence?” Lin Jin grabbed that appraiser by his collar and barked into his face after seeing how slowly he was working.

That appraiser was frightened by Lin Jin’s ferocity.
The appraiser was older than Lin Jin but he was completely overwhelmed by Lin Jin’s aura. Afraid to even breathe too loudly, he answered, “Uhm…sir please don’t act like this. I’ll help you look it up because even I can’t remember.”
“Hurry up!” Lin Jin sent the man stumbling backward. However, the moment he was released, the appraiser raised the alarm that someone was trying to start trouble at their establishment.
Not only was he shouting at the top of his lungs, but he was also running as quickly as he can.
Although it was dead in the night, his voice immediately alerted everyone.
There happened to be a group of city guards patrolling outside, so upon hearing his screams, they rushed inside. The guards in the headquarters had also started prowling the area in search of the intruder. Several beast appraisers threw on their robes with the same puzzled expression.
“What’s going on?”
“What’s happening out there? What’s all this shouting about?”
“Is there a thief?”
There was a flurry of discussions. The sight of more people emerging out of nowhere emboldened the appraiser, who proceeded to shout even louder.
“Everyone, quick! There’s an outrageous thief over here! He’s impersonating a Rank 3 beast appraiser! Apprehend him at once!”
His voice grew hoarse from the incessant screaming.
Lin Jin didn’t expect him to react this way but this reaction was clearly abnormal.
Something must be wrong.
Following the arrival of the city guards, their captain inquired about the situation. When he got the appraiser’s account, he turned to Lin Jin, with a skeptical look.
“Are you actually a beast appraiser? Why don’t the appraisers at headquarters recognize you?” As he spoke, the guard got into his battle stance and the other city guards quickly surrounded Lin Jin.
The appraiser from before hid behind the city guards, secretly watching Lin Jin from the sidelines.
By now, the other appraisers in headquarters had also arrived. Among them was Appraiser Wang who witnessed Lin Jin’s capabilities last night. Appraiser Wang had been tasked with arranging evaluation reports at headquarters tonight so he hadn’t left yet. The moment he arrived, that Rank 1 beast appraiser who alerted them of Lin Jin’s intrusion approached him to complain about the situation.

Because Appraiser Wang was a Rank 2 beast appraiser and he was well-acquainted with the captain of the city guard patrol team.
That captain saluted Appraiser Wang.
“Appraiser Wang, we came here upon hearing what this appraiser has been shouting. You’re an experienced appraiser here. Do you recognize this man?”
The captain pointed to Lin Jin.
Appraiser Wang was stunned to find Lin Jin standing there. Hastily, he jogged toward him and bowed down before him.
“Appraiser Lin, why are you here? Did something urgent happen?”

His tone was respectful as if he was a subordinate speaking to his senior. Although Appraiser Wang was much older than Lin Jin, what happened last night was so convincing that he had nothing but respect for this younger man.
Lin Jin was currently in a foul mood. He was already in a pretty bad mood when he realized how cruel Yang Qingshi’s methods were. However, what further ticked him off was how the Rank 1 appraiser had deliberately screamed at the top of his lungs.
Lin Jin didn’t know who he was, so his reaction was presumably because of a prior instruction.
By who?
It was most probably Yang Qingshi.
“Yang Qingshi, come out! Come out from wherever you are!” Lin Jin’s voice boomed. He was truly furious. If Yang Qingshi had instructed this appraiser to cause a ruckus just to hold Lin Jin back, it implied that Yang Qingshi was still in the vicinity.
Lin Jin had already decided he wouldn’t forgive Yang Qingshi. No quarter would be given.
His voice was so loud that it reached every corner of the association.
Who was Yang Qingshi?
Considering how there were only a handful of Rank 3 beast appraisers here, it came as no surprise that he was pretty well-known. No one would have had the audacity to even address him by his full name, and yet, here was someone ordering him to come out. Everyone was obviously startled by the sudden turn of events.
Appraiser Wang was no exception. His expression changed immediately upon hearing Lin Jin’s voice.
“Appraiser Lin, wh-what’s going on?”
Lin Jin took a deep breath before glancing around. “Yang Qingshi conspired with the demonic appraisers and has committed grave sins. If he’s here, I demand that you bring him out at once. Do not blame me when I show no mercy towards anyone who dares to hide him.
Lin Jin was infuriated.
He wouldn’t hold back against anyone who tried to stop him now. Even the city guards.
Lin Jin glared at the city guards. Immediately, all their pet beasts, about over a dozen of them, crouched down and started whimpering in fear.
The city guards were shocked by this occurrence. Panic hit them one by one. Meanwhile, their captain had heard it loud and clear.
Lin Jin!
In an instant, the captain remembered this name. His superior, a general had once mentioned to him that if he ever came across Appraiser Lin Jin, he was to refrain from any rash decisions. Back then, the general didn’t sound like he was joking around.
Now that the captain had recalled those words, he was absolutely sure that Lin Jin was who the general talking about.
They shouldn’t provoke him.
Lin Jin’s aura was too domineering. As he had always been good-natured, most people would pass Lin Jin off as someone who was easy to talk to and amiable.
Everyone was flustered when he finally decided to bare his fangs.
A thought suddenly came to mind and Lin Jin turned to the city guard captain. “Inform the city gate’s soldiers to seal off the city at once. Don’t let anyone leave the capital and say it’s an order from General Lu Bin.”
Lin Jin had no official position in the royal army, so an order from him wouldn’t be effective. But he was truly in a pinch right now, so he decided to issue a command.
By using Lu Bin’s name.
Even if Lu Bin were to realize this later on, Lin Jin was doubtful that he would be blamed at all.
In any case, Lin Jin would never let Yang Qingshi go today, no matter what.
