Chapter 283: 283
Chapter 283: Old Tian In Trouble
Ye Yuzhou was the first to speak up. He was most level-headed and wasn’t biased against Old Tian. Moreover, the man had been sincere in his request for help so as peers of the same Visitation Hall, he didn’t mind helping out.
At this, Old Tian immediately held his hands up in salutation. “Old Ye, I can’t help it. They poisoned my pet beasts. Look, my tyrannosaurus has been unconscious all this while but I dared not speak up earlier.”
The group looked over and sure enough, Old Tian’s Rank 3 tyrannosaurus hadn’t been moving all this while. They thought it was just tired but to think it was poisoned.
“Let me take a look.” Ye Yuzhou went over to examine the creature. The others hovered over too. Old Tian’s behavior had been acceptable lately. Curator had even accepted him so if they could help, they would. Otherwise, if Curator later questioned them about it, they wouldn’t know how to answer.
Old Tian kept thanking them.
However, Ye Yuzhou’s understanding of pet beasts was limited. He could only tell that the tyrannosaurus couldn’t open its eyes nor move, only sleeping soundly.
“This… Is rather difficult…” Ye Yuzhou was ashamed to say he couldn’t help so he turned to the others. After being in contact several times, he knew full well what these people were capable of.
He Qing could be skipped. Black Crow didn’t have much knowledge of pet beasts either. Although Ghost Child was strong, beast appraising wasn’t her forte. Meanwhile, Jiang Ziqi who constantly kept a low profile was actually knowledgeable and very familiar with herbs and medicine.
Hence, Ye Yuzhou turned to Jiang Ziqi and asked, “Old Jiang, could you take a look?”
Jiang Ziqi didn’t object. He nodded and went over, opening the tyrannosaurus’ mouth to take a whiff, and then gave a meaningful nod.
Old Tian stared expectantly at Jiang Ziqi as the latter smiled. “It’s nothing serious. It’s only a herb that would numb pet beasts and put them to sleep. I used to use it a lot so I’m quite familiar with it. Curator would have been able to cure him immediately but since he’s not here, please excuse my inferior skills.”

Having said that, Jiang Ziqi took out a medicine pouch. Opening it up, the pouch was filled with smaller packets of medicine, and they emitted strong fragrances of herbs.
They couldn’t put a name to these smells but there were light, fragrant ones and strong ones.
Jiang Ziqi took one out. Using the medicinal liquor in his gourd bottle, he soaked the medicine sachet and had someone open the tyrannosaurus’ mouth before tossing the sachet in.
“Alright, he should be able to wake up soon,” Jiang Ziqi stated.
At this, Old Tian immediately thanked him.
All else aside, at least he would be able to put up a fight once his pet beast woke up. He wouldn’t have to be so defenseless anymore. Only, he still had to face a dreadful battle when he left later.
Old Tian was fully aware of that.
He Qing suddenly asked, “Old Tian, even if your pet beast wakes up, will you be able to fight those people?”
Old Tian was grateful beyond words. Had He Qing not asked, he wouldn’t have had the courage to say.
Going with the flow, Old Tian said, “Everyone, I’m unable to go against so many. Even if my tyrannosaurus wakes up later, there will be a harsh battle waiting for us out there. If I can’t win, I might not be able to return the next time.”
He spoke with hints of sadness.
“It’s a pity that we can’t enter your door. Otherwise, we could have been able to help,” Ye Yuzhou commented.
This was true. The doors of the Visitation Hall were only open to the designated visitors. Other visitors wouldn’t be able to pass through each others’ doors.
Everyone knew that.
Suddenly, Black Crow asked, “Old Tian, where’s the evaluation report Curator gave you? Is there an evolution method?”
“There is, but the evolution method is rather difficult.” Old Tian quickly took out the evaluation report Curator had given him last time. He had always treated it as treasure and carefully studied it after he got back. Yet, before he could even improve his pet beast’s strength, he had been betrayed by his brothers.

Recalling this made Old Tian anxious again.
If he hadn’t become one of the Visitation Hall’s visitors, he would have surely died in this betrayal.
He showed them the evaluation report, holding onto this last ray of hope.
The evaluation report was written in great detail and the evolution method was comprehensive enough. However, the items required for the tyrannosaurus’ evolution were indeed difficult to obtain.
For example, it included some pills and spirit stones that an average person couldn’t get.
But these visitors here were clearly no ordinary folk. Quite a few of them constantly carried good stuff around. They had wanted to present some to Curator to elevate his impression of them, but since the man left on urgent business, those items remained intact.
Now that Old Tian was in trouble, why not give him a hand?
Curator would surely be pleased if he found out. The effects of this might even be better than directly presenting the items to Curator.
Black Crow and Ghost Child exchanged a glance before they both took out some items and handed them to Old Tian.
Old Tian’s jaw dropped, unable to contain his excitement.
There was a premium energy blood stone and several valuable herbs.
“According to Curator’s evaluation report, your tyrannosaurs has to build up enough blood energy of evolution. This energy blood stone should be useful,” Black Crow offered generously.
Old Tian was rubbing his hands together, thrilled. But Black Crow suddenly added, “I’m only lending it to you. You have to pay me back.”
That was true. A premium energy blood stone was practically priceless and he couldn’t possibly just give it to Old Tian. Giving it to Curator was a different story. But knowing Curator’s personality, the man would definitely be annoyed if they ignored Old Tian in his time of need.
Hence, they would help, but with a price.
Old Tian understood and nodded in response. “Don’t worry. Once I’ve made it through this, I’ll definitely repay you.”
“Good!”
Black Crow generously handed the premium energy blood stone to Old Tian.
Next was to feed this energy blood stone to the tyrannosaurus. According to the evaluation report’s evolution instructions, once the tyrannosaurus’ blood energy had reached its peak, turning his eyes crimson, they just had to jab three of the tyrannosaurus’ acupoints with spirit energy and that would help him push through to evolution.
Curator’s methods always worked and no one doubted it. After consuming the energy blood stone, the tyrannosaurus woke up and gradually became restless. Under the energy blood stone’s influence, a bloody aura began to overflow from his body.
Not only that, but his muscles began to expand as well, unleashing weird noises. In some areas, his skin cracked from the expansion.
This pained the tyrannosaurus so much that he roared thunderously.
Through their blood pact, Old Tian could sense his companion’s agony and that flustered him. After all, he couldn’t tell if this situation was good or bad.
And so, he could only stare helplessly at the others.
However, Black Crow and the others didn’t know either. Seeing Old Tian look their way, Black Crow pondered but nothing came to mind, so he looked at Ye Yuzhou.
In terms of knowledge, Ye Yuzhou was the most well-read among them all.
Being stared on by the others sent goosebumps all over his body. Ye Yuzhou shook his head and said, “Don’t look at me. I don’t know if this is good or bad either. Sigh, if only Curator were here.”
Just then, blood began to seep out from the tyrannosaurus’ body as his eyes turned crimson.

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
