Chapter 89: 89
Chen Yuanyuan was going mad with fury. Not only did the other woman slap her, but she even said something that pissed her off to no end.
Just then, a young man strode out of the gates. He bore an extraordinary aura and had a purple-spotted snow leopard following behind him as they approached in a domineering manner. On the robes of this young man were three ‘crimson cloud patterns’.
Just like the Beast Appraisal Association, the Friar Association also had a detailed hierarchy system where strength equates to status.
In the Friar Association, people who reached the first realm of their blood contract were permitted to sew a single crimson cloud pattern on their robes. If they reached the second realm, they could sew two crimson clouds. With three crimson clouds on the young man’s robes, one could tell the level of his cultivation and his status within the Friar Association was not to be underestimated.
Upon seeing his presence, Chen Yuanyuan’s eyes immediately lit up. “Cousin Brother!”
“Yuanyuan, what’s going on?”
Seeing tears in Chen Yuanyuan’s eyes, the young man hurried over with a frowning expression.
“Cousin brother, they’re bullying me. That Lin Jin and that woman beside him. She even hit me.” Like a child who had just found her parents, Chen Yuanyuan began complaining.
“Preposterous!”
The young man was visibly enraged. How dare someone bully his cousin sister at his turf, the Friar Association? They were deliberately challenging his authority by doing so.
After all, he was one of the top five cultivators within the association among the younger generation.
“Lin Jin? That wretched beast appraiser who used to be engaged with you?” Evidently, the young man was aware of this matter. He smirked at once. “He’s just a Rank 1 beast appraiser who got his certification through sheer luck. Although he’s a certified beast appraiser, he could never advance in rank so he’s not even worth mentioning. I’ve been strongly against your engagement since day one. Even if our Chen family isn’t a prestigious household, we can’t just let any random strays into our family.”
Chen Yuanyuan had clearly found a supporting pillar and someone on her side.

“Cousin Brother, you have to regain justice for me. Right, this Lin Jin doesn’t have an invitation so you can’t let him in no matter who pleads for him.”
The gleam of cheekiness and arrogance returned to Chen Yuanyuan’s eyes.
“Don’t worry, I’ll definitely reclaim justice for you.” The young man patted the back of Chen Yuanyuan’s hand, indulging himself at the moment.
He had certain thoughts for this beautiful cousin of his.
1
Then, he shot a glare at Lin Jin.
But soon, he noticed Lu Xiaoyun.
His heart fell into his stomach.
Lu Xiaoyun was Lu Yunhe’s biological younger sister. He couldn’t afford to provoke them. Lu Yunhe had already reached the fourth realm for his blood contract and was in a position higher than his. Among the younger generation, Lu Yunhe was in the top three, and some even said that if Lu Yunhe’s tempest lion could advance to Rank 3. Rumor has it that he was even on par with the number one prodigy of Maple City’s Friar Association, Yang Jie.
Meanwhile, compared to Lu Yunhe, the young man was still slightly lacking.
Seeing Lu Xiaoyun latched on so ‘intimately’ with Lin Jin at the shoulders, he felt a bad feeling in his guts.
“Chen Cheng, I’d like to see just how you would help her reclaim justice.” From another end, Lu Yunhe came over.
In fact, he had arrived together with Lu Xiaoyun, but when Chen Yuanyuan was lashing out against them earlier, it wouldn’t be appropriate for a man like him to intervene so it was best to let Lu Xiaoyun defuse the situation herself.
He had been watching from afar. When he saw Chen Cheng joining in the dispute, acting all high and mighty, Lu Yunhe knew it was time for him to step in.
Chen Cheng was also quite a famous figure within the Friar Association. He had an amazing mentor, the same mentor that taught the number one prodigy Yang Jie, but Chen Cheng’s level was only so-so. The man’s blood contract was cultivated up to the third realm and his pet beast was a Rank 2. Both his talent and potential were above average, putting him just below Lu Yunhe.

Lu Yunhe wouldn’t mind showing the other man some respect on other matters, but for today’s issue, he refused to let it go.
Putting aside his sister’s relationship with Lin Jin, he was still hoping to get Lin Jin’s help in evolving his pet beast. Hence, Lu Yunhe had to stand on Lin Jin’s side no matter what.
Seeing Lu Yunhe present as well, the feeling of dread within Chen Cheng grew. Had he known this incident involved Lu Yunhe, he would never have chosen to come out. But now that he was here, he couldn’t possibly stay silent and or retreat in humiliation.
“Senior Lu, this is…” Chen Cheng began acting confused.
Lu Yunhe simply went over to Lin Jin’s side and said, “The person who slapped your sister, is my sister. As for Appraiser Lin, I, Lu Yunhe, invited him over but I forgot to bring the invitation. And now, I’d like to ask, who would dare to refuse my guest’s entry?”
That last sentence was aimed at the guards who held Lin Jin back. They had been watching the entire process, and now that Lu Yunhe was here to take control, they quickly said, “Since he’s a guest of Senior Lu, of course, he can enter.”
Lu Yunhe nodded and stopped giving the association’s disciples who were on duty any more trouble.

Chen Cheng grinned to himself as he thought, ‘This is bad. Lu Yunhe’s obviously on Lin Jin’s side. Forget about Lu Xiaoyun hitting Yuanyuan, I better not mock Lin Jin at all.’
Because he might end up indirectly offending Lu Yunhe.
Quick with his thoughts, Chen Cheng immediately said, “I think this is all just a misunderstanding. I still have something to take care of over there so I won’t disturb you, Senior Lu.”
Having said that, he dragged the still fuming Chen Yuanyuan away.
And so, this farce came to an end.
Lu Yunhe came over and cast a glance at Lu Xiaoyun. Finally realizing she was still clinging to Lin Jin’s arm, Lu Xiaoyun quickly let go with her face flushed.
“Brother, why didn’t you come over earlier?”
Being a young lady, Lu Xiaoyun was easily embarrassed so she blamed her brother to cover up.
Lu Yunhe felt helpless. He obviously knew Lu Xiaoyun was just helping Lin Jin out of trouble so it was all an act. Yet, if he were honest, even if it was true, Lu Yunhe wouldn’t really object to their relationship.
He had heard of Lin Jin’s promotion to a Rank 2 beast appraiser from his sister and it must be true. It was a known fact how amazing Rank 2 beast appraisers were. Even if it was only one rank’s difference, there was a world of difference between a Rank 2 and a Rank 1 beast appraiser.
The best example would be Wang Ji. As a Rank 2 beast appraiser, he could take up the position of chief of Maple City’s Beast Appraisal Association. The people he came in contact with on a regular basis were mostly dignitaries with significant social status.
Now that Lin Jin was a Rank 2 beast appraiser, no matter how terrible his current situation was, if he focused on expanding his network for the years to come, he should at least be able to become an elder later on in life.
Lu Yunhe smiled at Lin Jin and said, “Appraiser Lin, Xiaoyun didn’t tell me you wanted to come. Had I known that you were interested, I would have given you as many invitations as you like. Just one word and you’ll be let in!”
“I was merely dragged over at the last minute.” Lin Jin smiled in response while Zu Can grinned sheepishly.
Zu Can had been too naive to think the people here would show him that much respect just because he was the Zu family’s young master. They even ran into a madwoman. Fortunately, Lu Xiaoyun and Lu Yunhe showed up at the right time to resolve the trouble.
He was also surprised. Prior to this, Zu Can had no idea that Lu Xiaoyun’s older brother was the Friar Association’s famous Lu Yunhe.
Today, he finally got acquainted with the man through Lin Jin.
The group entered the event hall together. There was a huge garden on the inside that could house several hundreds of people. It was an idyllic scene with brightly colored decorations.
