360 – [Ruler’s Demon Eye]

I receive confirmation of the death of the two adams via the usual announcement from God’s Voice.

Phew, that was my first fight in a while in which I felt my life was in danger. In order to take them down quickly, healing was left to the wayside as both me and my partner focused on relentlessly attacking. Since there were two of them, the amount of experience I got was insane. If I stay here, I’ll should eventually manage to hit even the ouroboros’ crazy high level cap.

Eh…? What is that skill? Is it a level 100 commemoration or something? [Ruler’s Demon Eye]? No, I guess it’s fine for now. I don’t have the time to check it out.

With a backwards glance at my parnter as she holds the adams in her mouth, I use [Autoregeneration] on my skin and internal organs that were crushed by close combat blows and by [Gravidons], and also repair the bones in my leg enough so that my movement isn’t impaired.

Oww… I might have been a bit too impatient. I thought I could push through against them once the eve’s healing was out of the picture, but I got kicked all over my body and, towards the end, they lined up and kept shooting [Gravidons] at me, altogether making for an unpleasant experience.

But it paid off, as although it took longer than expected, I was able to safely take them down within a short period of time. I received hits from [Gravidon] with my body as I closed the distance, then threatened them with [Roll] to force them to dodge with [High Jump], and then quickly struck them with a backspin version of [Roll], crushing their bodies and stopping them from moving. Prepared for death, the adams then shot off [Gravidons] as long as their MP would last, but I was just barely able to scrape a victory.

Humans…. No, dragons can do anything if they try. I never would have thought I could use my tail in the middle of a [Roll] to reverse my direction and flip around like that. I should incorporate that into my movements from now on.

If Aro and others had faced danger while stalling the eve, my plan was to abandon the adams and retreat with them, but I didn’t have that sort of leeway against them. It took longer than I thought, so I was getting fairly panicked, but… Looking at where Aro and the others were stalling the eve, I see they’ve somehow managed to stay safe.

The eve is staring open-mouthed at my partner as she gulps down the two adams. A short moment later, it puts strength into its leg, causing it to bend as it glares at me through its single large eye.

“A… Aaaaaaaah!”

It rushes towards me madly in an attack of desperation. As it charges, its body shakes to either side as a result of its leg’s unimaginable speed, and then it kicks off the ground to leaps towards me.

It’s fast. Plus, it’s making a feint. But it’s easy to work out where it’s aiming. At this late stage, there’s no meaning in doing a small amount of damage to me, so it’s obvious that it’s aiming for somewhere that it can deal a decisive blow.

I raise my foreleg to guard my head. The eve’s heel sinks into my foreleg. What it really wanted to hit was my head, probably. I slam it into the ground to shake it off. I feel it being squished beneath my foreleg. It’s over in a single attack.

For monsters with low HP, it seems I can one-shot them even if they’re A- rank. I can even deal fatal wounds to the physical-specialist adams if I hit the right spot. My attack is too much for the support-type eve to withstand. If it ran away I wouldn’t have given chase, yet it got stubborn and came towards me.

My partner licks up the crushed eve and crunches. She spits out the skull.

『It’s not so bad.』

I don’t want to eat things like that very much though… Well, I get the feeling that getting past that mental block. Watching her, the feeling of revulsion over eating a human-shaped monster is only faint. I need to be careful about this… More importantly, please heal Aro. Her damage looks serious.

Treant-san and the nightmare are safe, but Aro, who received its kick head on, has taken heavy damage. There’s a huge hole in her body, and she’s lying limp on the floor. My partner cries “gaa,” wrapping her in black light, and when the light clears, she’s entirely back to normal.

Sorry, I wanted to deal with the adams quicker and chase away the eve right away, but they were stronger than I expected. After seeing adams lose to the sirens and basilisk, I might have been looking down on them a bit. At any rate, I’m glad everyone’s safe.

I take a look at all their levels. Aro has risen from [Lv: 14/85] to [Lv 22/85], the nightmare has risen from [Lv: 18/70] to [Lv20/70], and the treant has risen from [Lv 5/60] to [Lv 10/60].

Aro’s level has quickly overtaken the nightmare’s. Well, even without the level difference, the rank, stat and skill differences already make Aro the strongest. If I get careless, she’ll get a bunch of skills stronger than mine. Treant-san also went up 5 levels and now is starting to gain on the nightmare.

Adams and eves really are bundles of experience. This island is also full of weird monsters. Well, the adams were genuinely strong, so there was a risk of having the tables turned on me…

Anyway, more importantly, let’s try out that skill I got for breaking through level 100. The skill’s details are…

Aro’s face flushes red as she looks me in the eyes. H-here we go. Are you ready?

…There’s no change. Aro opens her eyes wide, pressing me with her gaze. I-I did it just now, but… You have nullify all status conditions, so it might not have had an effect. But it also didn’t feel like it was activating at all.

『Hey, partner.』

Hmm? What’s up? Looking at my partner, I see her red eyes casting a deep crimson light. I try to close my eyes to the radiance, but as though paralysed, my eyelids don’t move.

Y-you got it! No way! You also got this skill!? This is strange, surely, hey! This one should be one we both get! That’s how it should be, right?!

As I’m lamenting, my foreleg raises of its own accord and scratches the base of my partner’s throat. With a satisfied “gaa”, she arches her neck.

I break free from her demon eye and rest my foreleg on the ground. Haah, haah… It really felt like she became the main head there. What an outrageous skill.

Looking at her, I see her snorting proudly. D-damn it… From now on, I can’t look at her. To think there was a skill like this.

Looking around, I see Aro facing me, her enthusiasm dampened a bit. S-somehow, sorry… U-umm, Would you like her to try using it on you?
