Chapter 1199: Feng Tianlan Found Her Mother 2
Feng Shu initially did not react to Feng Tianlan’s presence, but her body jerked and her hand stopped stroking the pillow upon hearing her speak like that. She looked up slowly and fixed her gaze at Feng Tianlan for a while. She spoke gently and earnestly.
“Dai’er, that is not right. You must be responsible for your own actions. It doesn’t matter if you make a mistake, but you must admit to them and make changes. How can you ask someone else to shoulder the blame for you?”
Listening to this, Feng Tianlan couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. Droplets of tears rolled down her face and she took a big step forward to hug Feng Shu. “Mother, I am Dai’er. I am here for you now, I can protect you now.”
She always thought they had been separated by life and death, so to meet again like this was a gift. It’s luck.
Feng Shu stared blankly and just let Feng Tianlan hug her. It took her a while to get back her senses and she pushed her away. Feng Shu hugged the pillow tightly and huddled up even more. Then, she shook her head vigorously as if she was afraid. “Dai’er, don’t be scared. No one will harm you. I will protect you. Your father will protect you too. We will always be together.”
Feng Tianlan was pushed to the ground, but she didn’t mind that. She got up immediately and took out the protection amulet that had been hanging around her neck. “Mother, I am Dai’er. I am really Dai’er, I…”
It was difficult for her to say anything more now.
Feng Shu looked at the amulet blankly and it took her a while before she regained her senses. She slowly looked up at Feng Tianlan, snatched the amulet, and held on to it tightly in her hand. Her body was trembling and she curled up even more.

“My Lady…” The maidservant got really anxious when she the back of Feng Tianlan’s neck bleeding.
With tears in her eyes, Feng Tianlan looked at Feng Shu trembling as if she was in fear. She tried hard to calm herself down. As she wiped the tears away, she said hoarsely, “Why is she like that?”
“I was here only after it happened. But I heard she became mentally unsound after Master Shen passed away. She runs out often, so to better care for the Lady Phoenix, this bamboo garden was built and a force field was put up.”
Feng Tianlan only felt herself trembling even more. “I thought he’s still alive?”
Feng Yunsheng had said that their father was still alive. So why was she now hearing that he had passed away?
“He passed away not long after Princess Yunsheng was born. Because the Lady Phoenix was unwell, the Late Emperor took and raised Princess Yunsheng herself. As a result, the Lady Phoenix suffered several emotional blows and she became like this after waking up from a high fever.”
Feng Tianlan felt sad when she looked at Feng Shu who hugged the pillow in one hand and held the amulet tightly in the other. She had never thought that it would be like this when they met up once again.
Feng Tianlan crouched down and talked to Feng Shu like how she did when she was a child. It took a while for Feng Tianlan to get her to come out of the closet and they left the bamboo garden.

“Qing Luan, go bring Azurite here,” Feng Tianlan ordered Qian Luan and then led Feng Shu to the dressing table. “Mother, I will help you comb your hair. Then, let’s do a hairstyle like mine.”

Feng Shu remained quiet as she hugged the pillow. She held on tightly to the amulet like it was her life.
When Feng Tianlan was done with Feng Shu’s hair, Azurite came up with Qing Luan. “Miss.”
“Hurry, take a look at my mother’s illness. Can it be treated?” Feng Tianlan moved aside to make room for Azurite as she asked her to quickly come forward.
Although Feng Shu wasn’t as resistant as before, she was quiet and still didn’t do well with strangers. So, she would stay close to Feng Tianlan as if she would only be safe next to her.

Summoned
“Per aspera ad astra." Death. Mercilessly, it comes for all. But when a young man is given a second chance – a second life – to experience what he never has, what will he do? Leave the burdens of his past behind, improving upon his faults? Or will he collapse back into old sins, wasting the opportunity given to him? Perhaps even he himself does not know. * Join Andre on his journey as he explores a new world – one ripped straight from the pages of a D&D campaign he's never played. He will face monsters. He will face men. And above all, he will face himself. The story’s genre is your standard progression fantasy, isekai: magic, a system, and a level of technology suspiciously underdeveloped. I’ve borrowed tropes from various books I’ve read like “The Second Coming of Gluttony”. The similarities are there (particularly in the beginning), but I assure you the story is my own. It’s in the first-person perspective and has its own quirks, characters, and world for you to become immersed in. The upload schedule for this will be different from the usual fictions on this site: I’ll release chapters in batches rather than so many a week. I’m a college student, so I don’t want another deadline to worry about. Depending on the popularity/demand of the series, I might increase or decrease the rate of releases. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the story! P.S. This is my first fiction so make sure to point out mistakes wherever you see them. I’m doing this, partly, to increase my skill as a writer. However, be kind! I’m fragile, you know? Warning: ***This is far from your happy-go-lucky, feel-good adventure story. There will be content that some of you might not be comfortable with. And if you're already feeling skeptical reading this, click away and don't come back. If you're still here, what are you waiting for?***

Chasing The Master
Zhang Cai, named Zhang by the streets and Cai by his master, embarks on a long and meaningful quest after his master's shadow to learn more about the world and himself, both as a human and as a cultivator. Another story I had in mind for sometime. I've been trying my hands at many different genres and art mediums, so this is my serious attempt to culminate the wisdom of them all into something that I can say I need to do. Please do enjoy. Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!
