Chapter 1162: 1162
They searched through the area and finally returned to where they started after finding eight of those flowers. After that, they realized there were some formations there, and the Illusion Flowers were the key to breaking them. With the destruction of the last Illusion Flower, the remaining blooming flowers withered instantly.
It was still foggy at this time. The intense floral scent gradually dissipated with the fog, and the air slowly became fresher.
General Zuo was still hugging the tree tightly, but he gradually got back his senses when the scent faded. He couldn’t take it when Her Majesty, the beauty who was in front of him, had become a tree. He felt even worse when he found out that he had been doing it with a tree for almost two hours. He couldn’t believe his eyes as well when he saw that all his subordinates had died!
Feng Tianlan slightly frowned when she saw the fog thickening instead of dissipating.
Chen Xinyi was standing a step in front of Feng Tianlan. Suddenly, she saw a blue light appear, and her eyes grew wide as the blue light moved swiftly toward them. Before she could shout to alert anyone, she had already thrown herself at Feng Tianlan.
Feeling that she was knocked down for no apparent reason, Feng Tianlan frowned with annoyance as she sent Chen Xinyi flying with a kick to the chest. Then, she lifted herself from the ground and steadied her footing.
But once she stood up and steadied herself, something brushed past the side of her face. The smell of blood filled her nose, and the mysterious blue light flashed across in front of her.
Crash!
The blue light sliced through the big tree and the tree collapsed to the ground with a big crash. Then, the blue light disappeared into the thick fog.

At this moment, on the Shen Clan Treasure Pearl stored in her Pill Scroll Realm, a blue light flashed across on it, barely detectable.
Chen Xinyi spat out blood. Then, pale-faced, she smiled in relief as she looked at Feng Tianlan standing up steadily. “You’re all right. That’s great.”

She fainted after saying that last word.
“Xinyi!” Shi Yiqing rushed forward and held the unconscious Chen Xinyi in his arms. He looked at Feng Tianlan and snarled, “I know you don’t like her, but you don’t need to be so heartless. She saved you without thinking about her own safety, and yet you kicked her away like that. If it weren’t for her, you would have been dead by now.”
“Sorry.” Feng Tianlan touched the wound on her face, the blood staining her fingers. She remained calm, and her expression was unchanged despite Shi Yiqing’s anger.
If Chen Xinyi did not push her away, the blue light wouldn’t have just grazed by and left a cut on her face. Instead, that blue light would have cut through her and her head would have exploded just like the big tree just now.
The strange thing was that the blue light had been out to kill her, but she did not feel a single ounce of murderous intent—not even a slight fluctuation in the air. This was why she had mistakenly thought that Chen Xinyi threw herself on her on purpose, so she had kicked her away.
Feng Tianlan stepped forward to check on Chen Xinyi’s injuries but was stopped by Shi Yiqing. His face flushed with anger, he said, “Stay away from my cousin. Since you don’t like her, why are you saving her again and again, giving her false hope each time? Doesn’t your conscience prick at you for hurting her so badly when she tried to save you?”

In response to Shi Yiqing’s words, Feng Tianlan replied indifferently, “All right. Next time, I won’t help again.”
Shi Yiqing choked on his words, and it suddenly hit him that perhaps what he said had been unkind, but he felt anger burning in him when he thought about what just happened.
Feng Tianlan took out a handkerchief to wipe off the blood on her face. “Give her a Quick Healing Pill, and her life won’t be in any danger.”

Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness.
