Chapter 1144: 1144
When Zheng Ping saw Feng Tianlan with the Ice Soul Sword in his hand, the expression in his eyes grew serious and he asked sharply, “Why do you have this sword?”
Hearing the mention of the sword, Yu Jia also moved her gaze to the sword in her hand, and her eyes suddenly widened. “This is…this is…”
“I picked it up,” Feng Tianlan replied aloofly. Following the aura of the Ice Soul Sword, she turned around and walked towards the southeast.
She thought that this place might be a force field, so no matter how one walks on the ground or flies in the sky, he would return to his original point. And if one wasn’t careful, one wouldn’t even realize that he had ended up back in the same place.
If there is a force field, then she could break the barrier with the Ice Soul Sword.
“That is our country’s Divine Sword. Please leave the Divine Sword behind.” Zheng Ping leaped and fell in front of Feng Tianlan, blocking her path.
Yu Jia trotted forward and said anxiously, “Mister, this is really our country’s Divine Sword. Please return it, otherwise, you will be in danger.”
“Your country’s?” Feng Tianlan raised her eyes and looked at Zheng Ping coldly as she said, “Is there any evidence that it belongs to your country?”
Her fierce gaze made Zheng Ping feel goosebumps rise up his back—even his legs were trembling. But for the sake of this Divine Sword, he bit the bullet and said, “This is the Divine Sword used by the Lady Phoenix. The sword is called the Ice Soul Sword. In the portrait we have, the Lady Phoenix used this sword.”
“Tianfeng Nation?” Feng Tianlan raised her eyebrows slightly, then chuckled lightly and said, “How ridiculous.”

“You actually know about the Tianfeng Nation?” Yu Jia looked at her in surprise. After all, Tianfeng Nation was a secret country, the outside world didn’t know about this place.
“Since you know about the Tianfeng Nation, I advise you to hand over the Divine Sword quickly. If you don’t, you will only die.” Zheng Ping said straightforwardly. This wasn’t a threat from him, Tianfeng Nation had been looking for this Ice Soul Sword for a long time.
Yu Jia stood on Zheng Ping’s side this time, and she nodded vigorously. “Return the Divine Sword soon, or else you will be pursued by Tianfeng Nation.”
“You mean, hand it over to you right now?” Feng Tianlan raised her eyes and asked lightly.

“When we leave the Earth Soul Pagoda, it will be handed over to her majesty. Don’t worry about it.”
Feng Tianlan raised her eyebrows and looked at Zheng Ping coldly as she said, “What if I don’t want to give it to you?”
“Then I have no choice but to use force. This is the Divine Sword of the Tianfeng Nation. It can’t fall into the hands of outsiders.” Zheng Ping endured the fear of Feng Tianlan’s imposing aura. He himself exuded the spiritual power of an Advanced-stage Heavenly Supreme.
Yu Jia looked at the two of them in distress, then said to Zheng Ping, “We’re still in the Earth Soul Pagoda, so he can borrow it for the time being. We can take it back after we go out.”
“Yu Jia, you are being foolish. Won’t he simply escape after getting out of the Earth Soul Pagoda?” Zheng Ping scolded Yu Jia. This is the Divine Sword. The Tianfeng Nation had searched for this Divine Sword for thousands of years, how could they let it fall into the hands of an outsider like this?

Yu Jia lowered her head and didn’t dare to speak anymore.
Feng Tianlan looked at Zheng Ping coldly, then handed him the Ice Soul Sword and said, “In that case, then you hold it.”
Zheng Ping didn’t expect that she would hand over the Divine Sword so quickly, but he didn’t think much about it. He stretched out his hand to pick up the Ice Soul Sword. As soon as his hand touched the sword, he felt a cold, biting sensation. When the sword slipping into his hand, he felt its whole weight. His hand immediately let go and he quickly took a step back to avoid getting his feet crushed.
Feng Tianlan raised her foot and kicked the Ice Soul Sword that almost fell on the ground back into her hand. She glanced coldly at Zheng Ping who was still scared and walked away.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.
