Chapter 1073: 1073
This time, Si Mobai did not go to the waterfall’s pool to catch fish. He wandered over to a nearby stream and jumped straight in with his hands to catch fish, water splashing all over his body.
Si Mobai started a fire and cooked the fish over the open fire. He even applied seasoning to the fish. Feng Tianlan could be seen sitting by the side with both hands on her knees. Her face rested on her arms, dewy upturned eyes round with admiration as she watched him grill the fish. That expression on her face was really cute.
“Lan’er,” Si Mobai called out tenderly.
Feng Tianlan softly responded, “Mobai, when will it be cooked? I am so hungry.”
“I just put it over the fire,” Si Mobai chuckled.
Feng Tianlan made a soft ‘oh’ and continued to stare at the fish. After a brief moment, she turned her gaze to his face and said, “Mobai, you’re so good-looking, especially when it’s time to eat.”
“I want to make it easier for Lan’er to fall in love with me,” Si Mobai answered seriously. He could not help but be over the moon while complimented good-looking by the woman he loved most.
Feng Tianlan looked at his handsome profile and gave a long sigh.
“What’s the matter?” Her sigh made Si Mobai nervous.
Feng Tianlan gazed at his handsome face with a worried expression on her face. It was as if she had encountered a big problem. She said, “Tell me, my Mobai is so good-looking, so handsome that I want to take a bite out of him. He’s so gorgeous that I want to be the only one gazing upon him.”
His nervous mood suddenly dissipated as he was captivated by her words. He laughed out loud. He took out the gray rabbit mask from before and wore it on his face. He said, “In that case, whenever Lan’er is not around in the future, I will wear a mask and not let anyone see me. I’ll only show myself to Lan’er alone.”

“Hey, you’re holding onto that rabbit mask,” Seeing him take out his mask, Feng Tianlan exclaimed in surprise.
Si Mobai grunted in reply. It was a pity there were too many colored lanterns that day and many things happened after. Otherwise, he would have searched for the lantern that the two of them had made a wish with and brought it back. He wanted to collect all things related to Lan’er.

“It’s only me now so you don’t have to wear it. You look so good, don’t hide. It would be a waste of your good looks.”
Si Mobai took off the gray rabbit mask and put it back to the Storage Space. He said, “As long as Lan’er likes it.”
The two people idly chatted while they waited for the fish to be cooked. The aroma spread and instantly whetted Feng Tianlan’s appetite. She could not resist taking a bite and burnt her tongue as a result. Si Mobai immediately felt sorry for her and blew air to help cool her down. Seeing that serious effort of his, happiness bubbled up inside Feng Tianlan.
After playing and filling her stomach, she laid on the grass and looked at the blue sky, thinking about how beautiful the world was. Yes, it was beautiful, like a wonderland on earth, because Mobai was around.
After they had their fill of play, they climbed a steep mountain on the east side. It was precarious there. The road up the mountain was full of sheer cliffs and precipitous rock faces with widths only a foot wide. It was exceedingly difficult to go up. But from up there, they would be able to see the sunrise and sunset on a sea of clouds.
Halfway up the mountain, Si Mobai carried her on his back as they continued to climb the mountain. The steep mountain was not extremely dangerous to them.

Finally, they reached the top of the mountain before sunset. The two people sat on the edge of the cliff, eating the red fruits Mobai plucked along the way. She leaned against his shoulder and looked at the wash of orange over the horizon. Lin’an City could be seen from up here.
“Mobai, let’s come out and have fun like this in the future.” Feng Tianlan looked at the orange color washing over half the sky. It was very spectacular and beautiful.

When the mercenary lifestyle grows incompatible with the Kingdom of Evandis, he and his merry band of misfits set off west to seek those with a better proclivity for warfare and with much deeper pockets. At his side: a wandering barbarian who teeters on the edge of savagery, a girl who would have a heart of gold if she didn’t pawn it off to the nearest fence, a wannabe knight who is absolutely overcompensating for something, and the last person in the universe who should be anywhere close to magic. But, as most mercenaries find, the right decisions are quite an expensive luxury, and the wrong ones happen to pay very well. Then again, what are the value of morals to a hungry wolf?
