Feng Tianlan closed in on Tu Xiupei . Tu Xiupei, whose eyes were on her filled with hatred, curled her lips into a snarl and held her hands defensively over her abdomen .
“What are you trying to do?” Tu Xiupei’s voice began to shiver . She tried to take a step backward, but Feng Tianlan exerted a pressure that immobilized her .
Feng Tianlan reached out and closed her hand around Tu Xiupei’s Cinnabar field giving out a faint blue light . She wrenched it out and squeezed . Feng Tianlan said coldly, “You will pay the price of causing harm to my people . ”
If she had been Tu Xiupei’s only target, she would have simply stood back and watched . But the wrench had intended to harm Luo Yunzhu, not only putting her in the path of a dangerous attack but also attempting to kill her! For that she would pay the ultimate price!
“Stop! Feng Tianlan! I said stop! Big Brother Jin will not—ahh!” Tu Xiupei was forced to watch as her Cinnabar field was crushed into smithereens in Feng Tianlan’s hands . The spiritual force that had concentrated in the Cinnabar field instantly dispersed in every direction .

“Ahh! Ahh! Ahh!” Tu Xiupei screeched in agony . She wanted to reach out for her shattered Cinnabar field, but she collapsed weakly onto the ground . She looked up at Feng Tianlan, eyes red with hatred, and hissed breathlessly, “Big Brother Jin will not let you go . He will never let you go!”
With her Cinnabar field removed, she could not recover . From now on, she was disabled, all because of Feng Tianlan!
Feng Tianlan sneered at her and threatened, “If you dare to lay even one finger on my people again, you won’t even have the chance to meet him anymore, much less have him avenge you . ”
“Pei’er!” Qi Shujie crawled towards Tu Xiupei and cradled her gently . He lifted his head and asked the old man, “Why are you treating Pei’er like that? She is your grand-disciple! Feng Tianlan is only an outsider . ”
“Master, this is too much! We were all fighting for the sake of the Flying Frost Pavilion . How can you do this to your own grand-disciple?” Qi Hongan was aghast at what happened to Tu Xiupei, a disciple he had personally trained . He felt great sorrow for her and couldn’t help the grudge he felt growing against his own master .
The old man shrugged indifferently in the face of these cries . He gave them a disappointing look and shook his head . “I thought you were capable of distinguishing right from wrong . I never imagined that you would stoop to the level of distorting the truth to protect yourself . Even the disciples that you teach are so unbearable . ”
“Master!”
The old man waved his hand . “If I could talk some sense into you, I would . Then I wouldn’t have to clean up the academy like this . You three have deceived your master and committed treason!”

Qi Hongan and the others were stunned at this reprimand . They deceived their master? They committed treason? How? When?
The old man turned to Feng Tianlan who had also gotten injured . He had bigger worries than their inability to understand him . The grandmaster stood before Feng Tianlan and asked respectfully, “Master, has your anger subsided? Would you like me to beat up these grandchildren one more time?”
These words shocked the crowd . Perhaps they heard wrong . Did Grandmaster just call Feng Tianlan, “master”?
“Master, have you lost your mind?” Qi Hongan sucked in a deep breath . “She is only Feng Tianlan, a First-stage Spiritual Grandmaster, while you, the grandmaster of the Flying Frost Pavilion, possess abilities that surpass hers in every way . ”

I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.
