I am a Scarecrow and the Demon Lord of Terror! Chapter 239

Chapter 239: 239
The screams echoed through the forest.
When the sound completely faded, there was a withered corpse on the ground… it was Hawkes.
His flesh and blood had been completely replaced by straw.
A little scarecrow pulled opened his stomach, crawled out, and then disappeared beside Flanders.
Just as Flanders was about to leave…
A sound suddenly came from the dead Hawkes’s clothes.
“Eh, this is…”
Flanders found a cell phone on Hawkes.
The cell phone screen was lit up.
The cell phone was a fingerprint lock, which could be easily unlocked. The information on it was very obvious.
[How much longer until we reach the swamp?]
[When we arrive, go to the designated location. Also, Ralph may still come. The Company he works for has sent someone to ask for help, and as one of the top three teams in the company, the possibility of him being sent here is very high.]
[You should pay more attention. If you see it, remember to contact him.]
“Oh right, also, someone saw a huge ice sculpture in Sarkos City. After watching the video, I feel that it’s very similar to the legacy magic of our Denny Family. When you meet Ralph, ask him if he did it.]
This was a message that someone had just sent.
Flanders was very surprised.
Because he saw a familiar name.
Ralph!
Was this not the guy he met in Sarkos City?!
When he escaped, the magic he used was indeed very powerful, turning an area of several hundred meters into a huge ice sculpture.
Regarding the Black Swamp, it seemed that they were the first to know about it.
Denny Family?
This must be Ralph’s family, right?
Inheritance magic?
It seemed that this family was also very strong. He remembered that magic sword Apophis had mentioned before that this kind of family with inheritance magic was very powerful. Moreover, they had a long history and a deep foundation.

Flanders became more and more curious.
Moreover, Ralph actually dared to come to the Black Swamp. He wondered what kind of expression he would have if they met again!
Besides Ralph.
There was also Garros from the Mage Association…
They were all acquaintances!
Not to mention that there were many strange things there that he did not know about. There would definitely be some very interesting ones among them. It seemed that it would be very lively when the time came.
Thinking of this, the smile on Flanders’s face became even happier.
“Okay.”
Flanders took Hawkes’s phone and simply replied to the message.
Then, he crushed the phone, threw it at Hawkes, and left.
…
Flanders began to use his Domain to hurry.
His current location was not far from the Black Swamp.
After walking for half an hour, Flanders suddenly felt a very ominous smell in the air, as if the air was filled with endless resentment.
This kind of place…
Flanders licked his lips, and his eyes revealed a fanaticism.
It really suited him too well!
He felt all the cells in his body cheering.
All the straws on his body slightly opened up.
No wonder!
No wonder so many strange creatures could be born here!
This kind of place, in the end, simply existed for the birth of strange creatures!
Just like that.
Flanders had only sensed it when he was close to the Black Swamp. If he really walked into the Black Swamp, this feeling would only be even stronger!
Flanders became even more excited.
He increased his speed, once again accelerating towards the Black Swamp.
But at the same time, Flanders once again used Disguise. He was prepared to not be noticed for the time being. Otherwise, it would be too boring.
…
The Black Swamp was an extremely huge swamp.
Once one stepped into it, one could be killed by the strange creatures that appeared from within at any time.

Even though this place was very safe a second ago, without a single strange creature, in the next second, this place could be filled with strange creatures and danger everywhere because there were too many strange abilities here.
It could be that the fight between the two strange creatures had shifted all the strange creatures in one area to other places.
It could also be that the underground of the swamp was surging, and the location of the entire Black Swamp had changed.
In short, if one did not have the ability, they absolutely could not step into it.
No matter how famous one’s background was.
Even if there were B+ level mages leading in front, they still could not step into it!
Because most of them could only protect themselves.
Therefore, although many forces came, most of them stopped outside the swamp. They did not dare and were not allowed to enter.
“I heard that someone died in there again!”
“More than that! As far as I know, there were seven people yesterday! And all of them were B rank mages!”
“I’ve heard about it too. I’ve also heard that the members of the Geluo Society were met with an unknown strange creature yesterday and were completely annihilated!”
When these words were said, everyone was shocked.
The Geluo Society was also a large faction.
A few months ago, in order to increase their strength, the president and the vice president brought some elders and all of them went into the Black Swamp. At that time, their strength was very strong, and even the few family factions gave way for them.
At that time, it was a glorious scene.
But after entering the swamp, in just a few months, all of them were gone!
As expected, this place was not something they could go to.
“It’s still safer to be outside.”
Everyone was stunned for a long time, and suddenly, someone sighed.
This sentence immediately caused everyone to sigh, and their faces revealed a relaxed expression.
Indeed, they were quite safe here.
The strange creatures of the Black Swamp, unless they were subdued by a mage, they would never walk out of the Black Swamp by themselves. Thus, they did not have to worry about their safety.
“It seems that there are still benefits to being weak.”
“A good friend of mine just broke through to B rank a few days ago and was brought in. Yesterday, he sent me a message saying that he felt that he could not take it anymore and that he might not be able to come out…”
“If we don’t go in, it’s already good enough that we’re still alive.”
Everyone was discussing.
They were all C rank mages.
Even D rank mages were brought over by the forces they belonged to to to take care of chores.
No matter which force they belonged to, as long as they reached B rank, they would be brought into the Black Swamp. The ones who stayed behind to watch over them were only C+ rank mages.
They felt extremely fortunate.
However, no one noticed.
While they were chatting, five palm-sized little scarecrows suddenly moved through the crowd at an extremely fast speed.
In the blink of an eye, the two little scarecrows found their target.
Then, they burrowed into the target’s body.
However, none of them noticed all of this. They were still discussing among themselves with smiles on their faces.
Behind them, a young man with a gentle appearance sat under a tree and looked at them with a faint smile.

Join the Species Tournament! You might lose your sanity, and quite possibly, your life. But hey, great adventure awaits. Who would accept such a deal and risk it all for glory and the unknown? Well, apparently quite a few. In fact, 1.000.000 life forms will face each other in this century’s tournament. Who will win and who’ll be sent packing? Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma? Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament! ................................................................................................... Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try): - It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World. - The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable. Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
