Chapter 63
Fang Qiu also looked at the two directors curiously .
But from the behavior of the two of them .
They seemed to take Fang Qiu’s proposal very seriously .
The two directors who were locking horns with each other finally became thirsty and remembered that there were another two men in the office .
They were too embarrassed to say anything immediately .
Qi Kaiwen was still a veteran . He said to Qiao Mu calmly as usual,
“Mr . Qiao, you take Fang Qiu away . I’m going to have a nice talk with Director Zhang . “
Then he turned to Fang Qiu and said, “Fang Qiu, I agree with your proposal . Don’t worry . You just focus on the competition . “
Fang Qiu nodded .
He followed Qiao Mu out of the office .
Out of the building of the School of Chinese Medicine, Qiao Mu patted Fang Qiu on the shoulder and encouraged him, “Come on!”
Fang Qiu nodded .
“I’m a little sorry about this today . . . “
Qiao Mu approached Fang Qiu, telling him the cause and effect of what happened today .
Including how the Associate Director Zhang Xinming removed him out of the list to prevent him from the competition .
Fang Qiu became more and more confused as he heard that . He frowned slightly .
As he had thought before, the Associate Director Zhang Xinming had been directed against him indeed .
“But wasn’t it the first time for us to meet each other today?
“There shouldn’t be any hatred between us . “
“Thank you, Mr . Qiao . “
Fang Qiu thanked him and then asked, “Is Director Zhang the relative of any student in our university?”
He just entered the university two weeks ago . It could only be the students who could offend Associate Director Zhang . And among the students, only two people had trouble with him .
One was Li Qingshi and another one was Gao Fei .
“If it’s one of them, it makes sense . “
“Well . . . “
Qiao Mu thought for a while and said uncertainly, “Director Zhang seems to be Li Qingshi’s uncle . “
Fang Qiu smiled for an instant .
He knew inwardly what was going on .
“Thank you, Mr . Qiao . “
He thanked Qiao Mu again and then went straight back to the dormitory after parting from Mr . Qiao .
As for lunch, it was okay to skip it .
It was fine for him not to eat for a week, let alone for a day .
Normally, at a fixed day every week, he didn’t eat at all, even staple food or complementary food but drank juice and sugar solutions only, which was good for health .
A lot of modern people got sick from eating .
It would better not to eat or to eat less .
In the afternoon .
The lunch break was over .
As there was no first class in the afternoon, Li Qingshi immediately searched the Internet to see the list of the Chinese Medicine Knowledge Competition of Freshmen . He couldn’t wait to see the list without Fang Qiu’s name .
He logged on the university website and entered the Academic Affairs Office online .
He selected the list file to download .
Li Qingshi opened the list with a little excitement and expectation . When Fang Qiu saw the list, the stunned and disappointed expression of him had already arisen in Li Qingshi’s mind .
Even thinking of it made Li Qingshi joyful!

But when he opened the list .
He was totally dumbfounded and in a daze!
He looked at the list in front of him in disbelief .
He thought the list could be a slap on Fang Qiu’s face, but the first name on the list was Fang Qiu!!!
“What’s going on?
“Wasn’t it said to be removed from the list?
“Yesterday, I saw Uncle personally removed Fang Qiu’s name out of the list . How come his name is still here?
“And he is the first one!
“What the hell is going on here???”
Li Qingshi looked a little flustered . He quickly took out the mobile phone and dialed his uncle’s phone number .
He now suspected that it was the staff who had made a mistake, so he must let his uncle quickly remove Fang Qiu’s name . Otherwise, it would be difficult to change a foregone conclusion if a lot of people saw that!
The telephone was connected .
“Hello? Qingshi . “
At the other end of the phone, Zhang Xinming’s voice was heard .
“Uncle!”
Li Qingshi asked hastily, “Has the list of the Knowledge Competition of Freshmen been uploaded wrongly . How come Fang Qiu’s name is still there? Did the staff make a mistake? Please quickly remove his name off!”
“Well, there’s nothing wrong with that . “
“Nothing wrong?”
Li Qingshi increased his voice suddenly .
The voice was full of disbelief .
“Hum, hold your horses . “
Zhang Xinming also felt awkward about this thing . After all, he had promised his nephew, but he failed . He could only explain, “Fang Qiu’s name wasn’t on the list that was uploaded in the morning . Later, Mr . Qiao Mu totally disagreed with it and tried his best to add Fang Qiu’s name into this list . I have no choice . “
“He’s just an ordinary teacher . How could he stop you?”
Li Qingshi immediately said with a resentful look .
To his surprise, there actually was a teacher who backed Fang Qiu up .
Moreover, he didn’t believe that an ordinary teacher dared to dispute with the Associate Director!
“And Qi Kaiwen . “
Zhang Xinming said helplessly .
Upon hearing the name .
Li Qingshi became silent immediately .
He did not expect that the Director was also Fang Qiu’s backer!
“This is troublesome . ” He knew that the Director and the Associate Director hadn’t been getting well along with each other all the time .
“If that were the case, of course, I won’t just add Fang Qiu’s name . “
Speaking of this, Zhang Xinming sighed and said, “In the end, it’s because Fang Qiu himself has the strength!”
“He has the strength? You mean the aspect of his talents?”
Li Qingshi curled his lips in disdain . He admitted that Fang Qiu was really good at that .
But his talents had nothing to do with the Knowledge Competition of Freshmen!
“Not his talents but his knowledge of Chinese Medicine!”
Said Zhang Xinming .
“The knowledge of Chinese Medicine?”
Li Qingshi immediately sneered and said in more disdain, “How awesome he can be? He is only a freshman who just entered the university without any background of Chinese Medicine . He has just been reading more books at most . “
“Alas!”
Zhang Xinming sighed slightly and said, “We have all looked down upon this student!”
“Two years ago, in the Chinese Medicine Knowledge Competition of Freshmen that you took part, how many points did you get in the first round?”
“45 points! Uncle, why do you ask this?”
Li Qingshi asked curiously .
But when he said 45 points, he was quite proud inwardly .
Although this score didn’t look high, the questions of that year were too abnormal . The highest score was just 65 points . It was so excellent of him to get 45 points .
And this score was ranked ninth out of eighty-one people that year!
It was a very high rank!
Every time he talked about it, he was so proud .
“To stop Fang Qiu from getting on the list, I let Fang Qiu answer this set of questions on the scene . “
Zhang Xinming paused for a while and asked, “Guess how many points he got?”
“Twenty? Or ten?”
Li Qingshi said in a despising tone as he curled his lip .
“86 . 5!”
Zhang Xinming said in a low voice .
“How many?!”
Li Qingshi’s whole body shook . He stood up with a rush as if he did not hear clearly, asking loudly .
“He got 86 . 5 points, 21 . 5 points higher than the highest score of that year!”
Said Zhang Xinming, “guess how long he spent?”
“How long?”
Li Qingshi asked with a bemused expression . He still couldn’t recover from the huge shock of the 86 . 5 points!
“Forty-five minutes!”
“What?!”
Li Qingshi asked full of horror .
“Forty-five minutes?!
“He got 86 . 5 points within 45 minutes???”
“I even didn’t finish the exam with all my energy exhausted and I only got 45 points!
“It also took 60 minutes for the student who got the first .
“But Fang Qiu got 86 . 5 points within 45 minutes!
“How could it be possible?”
“Could it be that someone had shown him the test paper and the answers in advance?”
Asked Li Qingshi who didn’t give up .
“No . “
Zhang Xinming said as he sighed, “Before he entered the office, no one ever knew that I would take out this set of questions, so there was no possibility of seeing the questions and reciting the answers in advance . “
Li Qingshi was so disappointed .
He knew that .
“My uncle couldn’t lie to me .
“Since Uncle has set up obstacles for Fang Qiu, the exam must be invigilated by Uncle himself .
“That is to say, Fang Qiu did not cheat in the exam . Instead, he has real abilities!”
He felt helpless immediately in his heart .
“It’s OK if I’m not as good as him at the talents .
“But now, even my knowledge of Chinese Medicine that I’m proud of also can’t compare with Fang Qiu’s who just entered the university for few days!”
This almost destroyed all his confidence and pride!
“But even so, will you just leave him alone?”
Li Qingshi clenched his fist tightly, asking again,
“Of course not!”
Zhang Xinming sneered and said, “He let me lose once to Qi Kaiwen . Of course, I can’t just let it go . But just leave it for the time being because I have something more important to do . As for Fang Qiu, I’ll find some way to keep him out of the competition by then . “
Upon hearing this .
Li Qingshi’s eyes suddenly lit up .
“Right!
“What if his name keeps staying on the list?
“As long as he can’t participate in the knowledge competition or gets low points finally, it will be OK!
“Such as suffering from diarrhea . . . “
Thinking of this, Li Qingshi resumed his spirits and sneered .
“I haven’t lost this game yet!
“Fang Qiu, let’s go on!
“Now, it’s more about a matter of a man’s dignity than a matter of love!
“I’m the real big shot of the School of Chinese Medicine and even the University of Jiangjing Chinese Medicine!
“I am God’s child!
“The central figure among all the students!
“Of course, it will be better if Fang Qiu can be kicked out from Jiang Miaoyu’s list . “
At the thought of what happened between Fang Qiu and Jiang Miaoyu, his anger couldn’t help rising in him .
“Jiang Miaoyu is mine . No one can take her away from me!”
After hanging up the phone, Li Qingshi immediately dialed another phone number .
Gao Fei!
“Hello?”
At the other end of the phone, Gao Fei’s voice was heard .
“Gao Fei, there is something’s wrong with our plan . “
Li Qingshi said in a low voice, “This time, the quota of Fang Qiu couldn’t be removed from the list of the knowledge competition . I didn’t expect that even my uncle can’t settle it . “
So he sketched the whole story briefly .
“Oh, my god! So awesome!”
Gao Fei said surprisedly .
He was really surprised . Li Qingshi had been showing off his score of 45 points to them for two years .
“But Fang Qiu actually got 86 . 5 points!
“What a weirdo!”
“What are you going to do?”
Asked Gao Fei .
With his eyes flashed with a trace of fierceness, he said in a low voice, “Let’s use the previous method to give him a lesson!”
“Ha ha, we still need the previous method!”
Gao Fei laughed and said, “I’ll take care of it . You just wait for the good news!”
“OK . “
Li Qingshi smirked .
Here, in the afternoon, Fang Qiu came directly to the library after class .
As soon as Fang Qiu entered the reading room, he was a little dumbfounded .
The one sitting in the librarian’s seat was no longer the familiar figure .
Instead, it was replaced by a middle-aged man that he had never seen before .
“Hello, I’m here to return the book . “
Walking to the counter, Fang Qiu handed the books from his arms to the librarian and asked in doubt, “Where is the previous librarian?”
“He has asked for leave . “
The librarian said with a smile, “I’ll take his place for a few days . “
“OK!”
Fang Qiu nodded his head clearly, wearing a doubtful expression faintly, however .
“Why did that mysterious librarian suddenly ask for leave?
“Could he have been in any trouble?”
After returning the books, Fang Qiu walked into the library in doubt .
Without the mysterious librarian, any book that he wanted to borrow had to be found by himself .
Forty minutes later, Fang Qiu came out of the library with a stack of books before the reading room was closed .
In the evening .
Back to the dormitory, Fang Qiu continued to sit cross-legged on the bed, watching the copper coin .
After two days of practice, he had been able to control a copper coin very skillfully . But the copper coin still couldn’t go up when it arrived at a certain angle, no matter how much energy he used to give a command with his mind .
“Since it can’t go up, I’ll add one more . . . “
“It may help by increasing the weight . ”

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).

The Girl with Scales and a Sword
This is the story of a girl who ends up with scales and a sword. Yup. There you have it folks. Slice of Life is the key intended genre. This is literally going to be a running commentary of a girls life, especially as it relates to adventure and action This is going to be a continuous work, as I intend it to be a side project while I work on other books more decidedly, and I intend to rework chapters often, because I want this both to be a break from other titles, and a learning experience. I'm going to be trying to get a lot of people to comment on chapters so I can grow as a writer. So if you want to read, please do! and comment if you feel generous. Just keep in mind, releases will likely be veeeeery far apart. (Note: I try to put out a chapter a month, though that doesn't always happen depending on school, work, and generally how well I'm doing, energy-wise)
