Chapter 484
Chapter 484: I, Yang Feng, believe in science!
Yang Feng had the same habit as someone.
He had his own manor near West Lake and stayed there when he didn’t have to work.
When he was busy with work, he would sleep in his own office at his company.
He didn’t pay attention to his house usually but when he did, he did it right.
For example, his estate covered 2000 square meters and Yang Feng spent 80 million to buy it and then another 170 million on repair and renovation ten years ago and gave this house an antique style inside and out.
But there were still a lot of modern appliances there otherwise it would be impossible to live there.
Now his first wife and daughter were abroad, but his second and third wife were there as well as dozens of helpers and bodyguards so the mansion didn’t feel empty.
In Yang Feng’s manor, there was a small pavilion in the middle of an artificially made lake.
It was still the first of the New Year and it was still very cold in Lin’an but this small pavilion seemed to have a heating device as the ground radiated heat even though all sides were open.
Yang Feng prepared a pot of great alcohol and a few steaming Hangzou dishes and there was a small fire simmered on the bottom of the plate so it wouldn’t be cold.
“Teacher Chu, the first time I heard that name, I felt that it was a bold and heroic name, just like Lu Xiaofeng.” Yang Feng said with a smile as he drank his alcohol, “In which book or poems these two names came from?”
“They are the protagonists of a book in my dream.” Chen Huan replied with a laugh, “They seem to be right there but also very far away. They are legends and heroes from a faraway world with endless swagger and endless tales.”
“Hmm, interesting!” Yang Feng laughed, “If you write those two books in the future, you must let me see it first, I love those legendary tales!”
“I don’t know how to write it yet but I have some ideas.” Chen Huan then took out a fan from his bag and handed it to him, “I asked someone to make this and since I’m being a guest during New Year, it wouldn’t be good to come giftless so this is for President Yang!”

“Hey, it feels too distant if you call me President Yang, call me Brother Feng!” Yang Feng took the folding fan and said, “Although I achieved a lot in business, you didn’t do any less in the field of mathematics, composing and writing, we are like equal from the same generation!”
Yang Feng always spoke to the point, which was in line with his personality.
Besides, he wasn’t wrong.
A construction worker should never speak to Yang Feng as if he was his friend, right?
The two were different in terms of status and realms so it was impossible for them to have a normal chat. If it was forcibly done, the construction worker would be probably too scared to speak.
Only those that achieved great things in their respective industries could be friends with each other.
You had your capital, and I had my achievement, nobody was better than the other so they naturally could talk and joke freely.
It was like the modern version of, ‘Among the people whom I idly chat with are persons of great knowledge and among those coming and going there are no illiterate men’.
Yang Feng opened the folding fan as he spoke. The material and craftsmanship of the fan was naturally great but what he saw was the five words elegantly written on it.
“I tread by the moonlight.”
Those six words gave a smug feeling at a glance.
This sentence was chic and relaxing at the same time.
It was as if he saw a young prince in white hanfu doing qigong while fanning the fan as he left.
“Hmm, not bad, not bad!”
Yang Feng stood up to fan the fan before laughing.
He was obviously pleased with it.
But then he saw Chen Huan and handed the fan to Chen Huan, “Come one, Little Huan, you also have to try it.”
Chen Huan nodded and closed the fan and after standing up, with a snap, the fan opened.
Yang Feng’s eyes lit up at the sight of Chen Huan fanning and couldn’t help but say with a nod, “Nice! Nice! If this world has any scholarly handsome prince, Su Mo count as one but you Little Huan is definitely one!”

This was the second time he called Chen Huan, ‘Little Huan’.
Facing someone with such enthusiasm, Chen Huan would feel bad slapping him away, “Brother Feng, you’re too polite! As for being scholarly handsome, I think the most important thing is having grandeur and Brother Feng is filled with it!”
“Hahaha, I know myself, how can I be as good as you?” Yang Feng asked him to sit down again.
He took the fan back and learned from Chen Huan how to open it before putting it down in satisfaction.

“I haven’t congratulated you yet!” Yang Feng said as they ate, “’Princess Returning Pearl’ is doing great! It set up an amazing record in terms of ratings!”
“It was due to everyone’s efforts, otherwise it wouldn’t be that successful no matter how great the script was.” Chen Huan said humbly.
“After ‘Princess Returning Pearl’, Habao Entertainment is also going to broadcast their own series.” Yang Feng said, “The name is ‘Youth’, which is written by a first-class writer, directed by a first-class director and with first-class actors in the cast, but your success is putting a lot of pressure on us!”
“With a classic like this, the later TV series would be more motivated to surpass it.” Chen Huan replied.
“You’re right!”
Yang Feng said, “We have a department that analyzes big data. They predicted that the final rating average of ‘Love Through Different Time’ will reach 11% while ‘Princess Returning Pearl’ will exceed 20%, do you think this is accurate?”
“I’m not sure.” Chen Huan felt something was up, “Can those big data be able to predict the rating in advance?”
“Yes!”
Yang Feng said with excitement, “The initial screening is based on the audience preference and the script is selected based on the writer’s past performance and ability as well as the current script’s potential. The director and actors will also be analyzed by those aspects before integrating their characteristics into the work, then the big data will give out the results after analyzing it… I think it’s pretty accurate so far.”
Chen Huan asked thoughtfully, “Brother Feng, don’t tell me this is what you did when you made the TV series?”
“Of course we did!” Yang Feng confirmed without hesitation, “We input all the data of all the production team and actors in the entertainment industry and got dozens of great combinations out of it. And this combination we have will definitely be a great success!”
“But filming a movie or TV series isn’t a certain endeavor and uncontrollable.” Chen Huan said with a frown, “What the viewers prefer is all different and the trend is also different depending on times so to categorize it as date wouldn’t be certainly accurate!”
“I believe in science!” Yang Feng glanced at him before saying with a smile, “Now that we talk about it, you don’t seem to believe in the judgment of big data.”
“I can’t say I don’t believe in it. I think it can be used as reference but shouldn’t be used as the basis when making a movie or TV series.” Chen Huan bluntly said.
“I think it’s the opposite.” Yang Feng said, “It is precisely because of its analysis and the conclusion that comes with it that we can avoid making bad movies. Instead, it saves money and enables us to give the viewers better products.”
After a slight pause, “Do you want to make a bet?”
“What’s the bet?”
“Let’s be on the rating of ‘Youth’.” Yang Feng said, “We’re broadcasting it on Huajin TV and according to the analysis of the big data, it should be between 7% and 15%. How about if it counts as my loss if it doesn’t reach 10%?”
“I have to watch a few episodes before I can pass my judgment.” Chen Huan was cautious.
“Alright! Two days later, I’ll ask someone to send you the episodes via CD.” Yang Feng said.
Chen Huan was dumbfounded after he said that. He realized that Yang Feng really wanted to bet on this.
In other words, Yang Feng wanted to prove something to him.
Science?
Haha!
