Chapter 49
Chapter 49: Everyone was moved!
On a Saturday night, there were sobbing sounds in the Essay section of ‘Qiantang Evening News’ .
There were 12 editors in addition to the editor-in-chief Shao Dong . Most of the crying people were women but two young male editors were also included in that group .
Shao Dong and Zhao Xinde were editors in their 30s and 40s, so they didn’t cry as they had seen and experienced many things in their lives .
But even Shao Dong’s eyes were reddened .
Since 6 o’clock in the afternoon, when a manuscript with 200k words named ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ was sent to them, they sat on their chairs and didn’t even move to drink water as they were completely immersed in the story .
If Chen Huan were here he would think it understandable for them to act this way .
After ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ was written, the Shui family were the first to read it and a lot of crying ensued as their appearance were even more pitiful .
Even Xia He, who liked Chen Huan very much, called him cruel, not to mention Shui Qianyu who nearly gave him a beating .
“Teacher Chu, you’re going to far…” A young female editor was like the Shui family as she muttered while sobbing, “How can you be so cruel? This story shouldn’t be like this! Why not give the father and daughter pair a good ending? It wouldn’t be too late for the daughter to save him even if the father stayed in prison for twenty years!”
“Nonsense!” Another male editor rebutted, “Teacher Chu’s ending is the best! This is what make ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ so great!”
“That’s right, it was written in a way so that it can expose the hypocrisy of society and let the people reflect on it . ” Zhang Xinde rubbed his eyes and gave Chen Huan a bitter smile, “Teacher Chu, I’m still saying the same thing . You’re still so young, how can you write such a profound story that can touch and capture people hearts this easily?”
“It’s god helping me . ” Chen Huan could only explain it like this with a smile .
“But Teacher Chu…” Shao Dong slowly spoke up, “Why is such a good story not being published in China but in South Korea? It has to be translated first, it’s too troublesome!”

“Do you know the recent news about ‘Love Letter’?” Chen Huan asked .
“I know about it! It was all over the internet!” A male editor with glasses in his 20s exclaimed, “But I support Teacher Chu! Because I’m a superfan of Han Dong’er!”
“There’s also things you didn’t know yet . ” Chen Huan coughed a bit, “Let me reintroduce myself, I’m Chen Huan, I also play the main male role in ‘Love Letter’ . ”
“Huh!?”
Shao Dong and the others were completely taken aback .
Then they looked at each other .
But the next moment, a female editor suddenly shot up and said, “Alright! Director Zhu sure is bold! Teacher Chu as the leader actor can attract many young girls! How can students from film school be compared with you? Unless it was Su Mo from 20 years ago!”
Chen Huan had no doubts about his handsomeness .
So he just smiled at the female editors compliment and said, “So that’s why I’m deeply connected to this movie . For reasons that I can’t disclose, ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ must be published in South Korea first and not here . ”
Since Chen Huan already said so, there was no point for Shao Dong and the others to try to persuade him .
“Alright!”
Having already seen how beautiful ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ was, Shao Dong directly agreed and said, “Contacting a South Korean publishing house to translate and publish this isn’t a big deal for our company . It just so happens that I have a friend that works in the ‘Xinghua News Agency’ in South Korea, I’ll ask him if he has some connections . If not, we’ll use the company’s resources to search for a publishing house . ”
Shao Dong graduated from the CUC (Communication University of China) and high level students like him had many seniors and juniors everywhere . It wasn’t easy for him to find a job .
But at the same time he had many more connections than the average person .
“Thank you, Chief Editor Shao Dong!” Chen Huan said with a nod, “I hope they can translate and publish it as quickly as possible . I don’t have any requirements for the remuneration costs or number of books sold but I will only allow them to publish it as a paperback format and nothing else!”

“It is for a movie?” Zhang Xingde immediately came back to his senses and asked .
It was the same the last time when Chen Huan published ‘A Bowl of Plain Noodles’ .
But compared to ‘A Bowl of Plain Noodles’, ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ was more suitable as a movie adaptation .
“I hope it can be adapted into a movie . ” Chen Huan said with a solemn tone .
“If there comes such a day, I will definitely purchase at least three movie tickets!” A female editor said with a serious face as she stretched out three fingers .
She was part of the group who were crying their heart out earlier .
“Thank you!” Chen Huan said confidently, “Thank you for enjoying the story I wrote!”
“No need to thank us yet . ” Zhao Xinde said, “Teacher Chu, I won’t say much about you publishing it in South Korea . But how about you let ‘Qiantang News’ report about ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’?”
“Sure!”
Chen Huan added, “Around October, you should report it around October . ”
‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ was made for the Busan International Film Festival and the mystery must be revealed in tune with the start of the festival .
Before that, they mustn’t let people in China know or there wouldn’t be a sense of mystery .
“Great!” Shao Dong clapped his hands together and yelled, “If this story gets published, I can’t imagine how many fans Teacher Chu will obtain . ”
“Those young girls will definitely become crazy about you!” A male editor said as he laughed .
“It’s not only the young girls, we middle aged women will be the same!” One of the oldest female editors declared, “People with children can feel the bond between father and daughter even better . Teacher Chu, you’re sticking a knife in our heart and twisting it, you’re hurting us badly!”
He was indeed a literate person . Even a small novel could bring out such beauty .
Chen Huan didn’t want to reveal to them that when the movie will be made, they would come to realize the crying they did until now couldn’t even compare to what’s to come!
People will know what it means to cry their hearts out!
“’Miracle in Cell No . 7’ isn’t limited to a movie adaption . ” Shao Dong cut in, “Don’t you think that it would be just as powerful as a play in theaters?”
“I agree!”
An editor agreed with him, “I think so too! Theaters are full of emotion and ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ doesn’t need special effects, it’s the story line that attracts the audience . The acting from the actors can probably be even more exciting and emotional than from a movie!”
“I’m afraid I won’t dare to watch it . ” A female editor spoke up with a sad tone . “I’m just reading a text and I’m already bawling my eyes out . I think I will need someone to accompany me if we go watch the movie, how would I dare go to the theater!?”
The several people that were discussing the future opened a new door of possibilities for Chen Huan .
That’s right!
Those ‘Happy Twist’ movies in his previous life were all basically adapted from theater play into the big screen . It was pretty good as the movies were all popular as long as the play was also popular .
‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ could do the same!
They would first tour the country with the play before making a movie!
*Ding Dong*
“The smart and understanding system found a way for the weak chick host to become famous! A new mission has been issued!”
“Within one year, the host needs to adapt the plagiarized work ‘Miracle in Cell No . 7’ into a theater play and perform it for the audience to see!”
“As long the popularity requirements are met, the system will give out a mysterious reward that will definitely please the plagiarizing host!”
Chen Huan first reaction when he heard this was anger .
Good Lord, That’s enough!
You keep reminding me of plagiarism and copyright at every single sentence! Aren’t you ashamed?
There’s no such work in this world . I remembered the whole story with my very own skills and worked very hard to write it! How doesn’t it count as my own work?
Come out and clear this up!
Come out!!!
