Chapter 203
I reacted when I heard Kyousuke’s panicked yell, and somehow or another, I was able to slide “Yatonokami” in between the monster’s claw before my body was ripped apart.
Though, I was caught off-guard, so I could not stop its attack, and it had been a while since I had been blown away because I could not put up any defense.
I did not think that I would be about to stand my ground either and was taken by surprise, but even so, I hadn’t been sent flying like this since I was in the Continent Dungeon when my occupational level had been low.
At the end of my long flight through the air, I had crashed into a tree that was quite far away from Kyousuke and Zeal-san.
「Akira-kun!!」
「I’m fine! Don’t worry about me!」
I shouted in response to Zeal-san’s cry that reverberated from far away, and got up.
When I came to this world, what I had been most grateful for was my monstrous defense and stamina.
Despite the fact that I had crashed into it with considerable force, I only had a minor injury and I could still move around.
Although, I could hear Zeal-san’s voice from far away, we would not be able to ask for each other’s help like this.
There were many trees in the way, but I could just barely make out its large body.
The monster, that was bigger than the ones near the two people and was enormous enough to envelop my entire body, blocked my way when I tried to go to where Kyousuke was.
Although it was right in front of me, neither of my『Perception』nor『Threat Detection』skills gave a response.
Before we knew it, we had been surrounded by a group of humongous monsters, though there were only three of them.

The monsters, did not look anything like the animals that we had ever encountered before, and they might’ve been similar to the illustrations of demons that I had seen in books.
They had bat-like wings, as well as long and slender limbs, and their numerous red eyes, similar to that of a spider’s, were glaring at me.
Tentacles, like that of a squid’s, grew out from where the mouth should’ve been, and they were wiggling around as if they had minds of their own.
It’s entire body was pitch black, and I was instinctively repulsed by their unsightly appearances.
To put it bluntly, it was a revolting monster, to the point that the monsters we’ve met up until now seemed cute.
As I was observing the monster, I inadvertently glanced at the ring, and the red light was pointing at the monster in front of me.
「I see, this is an Orgun, huh.」
I somehow understood that the magic stone that surpassed me in height was obtained from this guy.
Up until now, the slightly bigger magic stones had been harvested from humanoid monsters, but I understood when I looked into its eyes.
This guy, they had human-like intelligence.
They’re probably not as smart as Yoru, but there was no mistake that they were much more formidable than the monsters that just attacked humans.
Perhaps, the number of monsters that looked like this would increase as we got closer to the demon territory.
For heaven’s sakes, follow our fluffy and adorable Yoru’s example.
「Tto!」
As I stood there, observing it and not moving at all, the Orgun extended its claws once again, as if impatient.
The attack just now came completely out of nowhere, so I fell behind, but if I understood the target properly, then it was an attack that could be avoided or could even be stopped.

However, contrary to its body, its arm was as thick as mine, yet the claw that it had just raised overhead uprooted several nearby trees with the slightest of movements and blew them away.
If I received the attack, it was highly possible that I would be sent flying just like what had happened just now, so I will evade it.
The previous attack as well, if it wasn’t me who was on the receiving end, their organs might’ve ruptured.
Why was it that among the three people, humans, here, it had selected me.
Everyone was taken by surprise, it should’ve been fine no matter who it was.
Perhaps the wild monsters in this forest could instinctively measure the strength of their opponents, and accurately attack the person within the party who was the weakest.

Before we arrived at the base, Amaryllis was the one who would be the first to be attacked.
Despite that, why did it attack me, who had the highest status values in this group, more or less, first.
As I had retreated a distance away from the monster due to the recoil from warding of the attack, I used『Eye of the World』and checked the Orgun’s status.

Even though it was a monster, I was lost for words when I saw this status that could only be said to be completely broken.
Leaving aside its defense, what was with that attack power.
Judging from its name, although it might be one who had power even among the Orguns, what was up with the fact that its status values were higher than that of the demon king’s daughter whose status I saw the other day.
Because monsters didn’t have occupations, I didn’t know what the exact difference was, but if it had one, then the level would probably be higher than mine.
In other words, it was so strong that it might not be enough even if I used all my strength.
Seeing its status and instantly turning wary, I gripped “Yatonokami” again.
I probably hadn’t felt this, like the time when I was in a life and death situation everyday in the Continent Dungeon, ever since that time I fought the demons.
I was fighting the one who was obviously the leader of the group and contrary to feeling disheartened, the corner of my lips curled up.
My fast heartbeat, informed me of my own ecstatic heart.
Eyes widened, I looked up at the Orgun.
I knew that my pupils were dilated.
Aah, I, like fighting with strong people.
「Fufu, hahaha!」
I swung “Yatonokami”, as if letting out the feelings that even I could not suppress.

Soon Adebar finds himself tasked with ridding a town of a mad killer, and settling some lethal family quarrels.Word from the AuthorGreetings! The Hand of Sigmar plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
