Chapter 87
「I came to warn Amelia-sama . I received information that the demon king had begun to move and is aiming for Amelia-sama’s『Resurrection』skill… . 」
I frowned .
I was confused about various things, and wanted to write them down on a piece of paper to sort through them .
Of course, it was impossible to do so on top of Yoru who was moving at such high speeds, and I didn’t have any paper to write on in the first place .
『Master-dono, this is the room of the tenth floor’s boss . 』
This was what Yoru said as he was listening on in silence .
I turned around, and in front of Yoru, an enormous door could be seen .
「Even though we’ve only been in the dungeon for a short time… . 」
『Who do you think I am… . What are we going to do, Master-dono . 』
I turned my entire body that had been facing Ria around .
I put my hand in front of me, and closed my eyes .
「Charge in . 」
『Understood!!』
Without even a single doubt toward me words, Yoru charged at the door .
Behind me, Ria screamed and clung onto my back .
「『Shadow Magic』…remote activation . 」
The moment the door had been destroyed, I opened my eyes .
The interior of the dungeon which was, even under normal circumstances, dimmer than the surface, was bathed in complete darkness .
However, that darkness had, in the next second, dissipated .
The corners of my lips curled at the expected development .
「Hiii!!」
It seems that before Yoru could change directions and head towards the door that led to the next level, Ria saw it .
The disconnected body of the boss that was cruelly scattered about in the middle of the room .
So far, I had only used my shadow and the other shadows that had accumulated within my shadow to activate my Shadow Magic . However, I knew that because I had remotely controlled my magic in the Continent dungeon and used my Shadow Magic to its limit, this time I could use shadows other than my own .

Unfortunately, It was limited to only the shadows within my field of view .
「…is it scary . 」
I raised my voice towards the person behind me who didn’t make a single noise .
Yoru quickly found the stairs that led to the twelfth floor .
Just like in the Continent dungeon, the traps activated, but in the next moment, Yoru was no longer there .
「I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t scary . However, you let me come along with you, I won’t complain . 」
Although she said that, the hand that was holding onto my clothes was trembling .
She certainly thought that it was scary in her mind .
However, there was no mistake that instinctually, she wanted to run away .
This was how living things, people were .
Fundamentally, they couldn’t go against the feeling of fear .
「You, just who are you?」
I gave it some thought and then started to speak .
「I am just an assassin who got dragged into this, Amelia’s lover, …and one of the people who you hate the most . 」
「…ehh!?」
Ria’s voice sounded very surprised by my remark .
I paid her no mind and retreated into my own thoughts .
I did not think that the demon king would be aiming for Amelia .
I was certain that he was aiming for me, but keeping in touch with Yoru and inviting me was probably because of Amelia .
In that case, why did he want Amelia’s『Resurrection』 .
Was it to extend his life because he was about to die?
As for me, it was hard for me to understand why he would go that far and why he wanted to live in this world .
「…were you summoned here to this world?」
「Aah, that’s right . I’m one of the people who were summoned here using the magic power of your family . Are you going to kill me?」

Since I heard the story, I had no reason to be killed by Ria .
However, Ria’s circumstances were something that I sympathized with .
I could let her hit me if she pleased, but I won’t allow myself to die just yet .
However, I despised Ria .
「No, you yourself are not guilty . I understand that the hero summoning was something that was truly unreasonable . However, I will not forgive the people of Retice who summoned the heroes . 」
That’s right, when asked point blank, she would dodge the question .
Under us, Yoru trembled .
『She got you, Master-dono . 』
「You’re noisy . 」
I turned my body around once again and faced Ria .
This time, she wasn’t panicked and was clutching onto Yoru’s fur .
「Then, let’s change the question . Do you want to kill the heroes?」
When I first met Ria, she was definitely directing her bloodlust towards us who were summoned here .
If she said that she wouldn’t kill me who was among the crowd of people, then it would be the heroes .
Just as I expected, Ria nodded .
「I know that the heroes had no choice in the matter, but… . 」
Ria hung her head .
It wasn’t something that it wasn’t something that she could let go of so easily .
Maa, it’s not going to hurt me, so it’s ok .
If it negatively affected the heroes, that was fine too .
The heroes’ matters and the like had nothing to do with me .
「Let’s go back to what we were talking about . You came to warn Amelia . You met us after following Amelia’s smell, and now, you are accompanying us . 」
「Yes, it’s as you’ve said . …is it alright if I asked you a question?」
Ria nervously asked me who was pondering it over .
I made a sound of acknowledgement without raising my head .
「Who kidnapped Amelia-sama?」
When I was about to answer her, I suddenly realized something and raised my head .
「I see! Yoru, hurry!!」
Yoru didn’t give any response, but he ran faster .
「The one who kidnapped Amelia was a demon named Aulum Trace . 」
Ria’s eyes widened .
I bit my lip .
Ever since meeting Ria, I have come to understand various things, including the sacrifices required to bring myself and the other heroes to this world .
Aulum Trace was a demon .
In that case, there’s a high possibility that the one who ordered him to kidnap Amelia was the demon king .
Although, it seems that Aulum Trace was ranked third among the demons, so it wouldn’t be strange even if he ordered the first and the second to do it .
We still didn’t know what the demon king’s objective was, but I knew that it wasn’t anything good .
No matter what, I will definitely get Amelia back before we leave this dungeon .

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

My Failed Reincarnation as a Demon’s Prisoner
When Kayn opened his eyes in the empty void, he was met with a familiar voice and the knowledge that he was neither dead nor alive and about to be reincarnated. What he didn't expect was to reappear in the world of the living and immediately get captured by a clan of demons, now living as their prisoner. After a lucky encounter, Kayn stumbles upon a room that could possibly give him what he needs to free himself from their captivity. But, as he soon finds out, escaping from the demon queen herself isn't the easiest of tasks... **DISCLAIMER**This story attempts to be quite comedic (I don't know if I'm doing a great job at it) and will be more comedy heavy at the start than later on. As the situations Kayn finds himself in become more grave, the story will become serious and less comedy oriented. There will always be comedy throughout, but at some point I do plan on shifting the focus. I'd love to hear everyones opinion on whether the comedy should be kept in full, or dialed back a little so the plot can take centre stage more often. Happy reading!
