I Have Medicine Chapter 56
After Gu Zuo read about Qi Feng and Bai Wenjun’s endings, he calmly stood up for a moment and slowly let out a big sigh.
This would do.
He didn’t kill Qi Feng or Bai Wenjun. Besides the medical beads, the endings of those two were all brought about by their own choices…
Even if the spirit of Qi Tianyou knew about this in heaven, surely his Virgin Mary-like temperament wouldn’t blame him — No, even if he killed those two, since Qi Tianyou was unwilling to harm others, he definitely wouldn’t blame him.
Just how stupid were those guys? Stupid enough that if it weren’t for his revenge, he’d feel sorry for them.
In addition, someone might become aware of this matter some day in the future. They shouldn’t feel that “Qi Tianyou” had done something wrong, or that he was malicious or something.
Gu Zuo felt that he didn’t harm Qi Tianyou’s reputation. So from this day forth, he could lay this worry to rest.
At this moment, it was like Gu Zuo’s heart had let go of a big stone. Previously, no matter how much he felt that he had nothing to do with it, he still subconsciously hung on. It wasn’t until now that he truly let it go.
Suddenly, the psychic power in Gu Zuo’s head violently fluctuated.
When there was a rumbling sound, he discovered that a psychic ripple formed in the depths of the vortex in his Tianfu Acupoint. In the past, the oscillations were merely the nonstop compressions of smoke-like psychic power. The current oscillations were the formation of gelatinous psychic power.
Gu Zuo could even sense that his psychic power suddenly increased as much as ten times. He could use it more freely and effortlessly. Even the condensing speed of the smoke-like psychic power beyond the gelatinous psychic ripple was ten times faster.
This should be his > breaking through to the second stage?
At the same time, Gu Zuo’s brain was like a book that had opened to the next page. What was recorded was the second chapter’s method of Spirit Congealing. Nevertheless, Spirit Forging, Spirit Congealing, and Spirit Piercing were a series of steps that were more subtle and profound than the last. They were directly engraved in his mind, allowing him to automatically learn how to do it.
If he was willing to work hard, his self-defensive capabilities would rise again!
After opening his eyes, Gu Zuo realized that at some point in time he was already sitting in a cross-legged position. Sitting across from him on the couch, Gongyi Tianheng also just so happened to open his eyes. Two pairs of eyes met.
Gu Zuo felt a little embarrassed. While he was blanking out, it seemed a while had passed.
Tianheng faintly smiled: “Ah Zuo, congratulations on your breakthrough.”
Gu Zuo’s face reddened: “Many thanks, big brother.”
Then, Tianheng asked him: “Ah Zuo’s current psychic power…”
Gu Zuo was a little proud: “It’s ten times as much as before. When I’m using the Spirit Piercing Needle, if it’s the silver needle, I can shoot a total of three hundred sixty needles, and if I swapped it for the silver drill, I can shoot ten of them.”

Previously, he only had thirty six silver needles. Every batch of thirty six silver needles could transform into one silver drill. If he wanted to use that great power, it would be a single-use attack.
Gongyi Tianheng listened and his gaze slightly moved. He said with satisfaction: “Very good, the Spirit Piercing Needle seems very marvelous. Ah Zuo, you must work even harder when practicing it.”
Without the slightest hesitation, Gu Zuo said: “I will, big brother.”
For the matter of his small life, he definitely wouldn’t slack off the tiniest bit!
Once this affair was over, Gu Zuo continued to nurse Gongyi Tianheng’s health, refining many medicinal pills and researching all kinds of prescriptions. After his psychic power breakthrough, his cultivating speed was even faster and his need for medicinal qi was even greater. He would certainly give it his all to realize his own destiny.
Sometimes, Gu Zuo rejoiced at his own good luck. Gongyi Tianheng was wealthy and could make lots of money. Otherwise, even if his success rate for refining medicine was one hundred percent, the funds needed for purchasing medicinal ingredients would be absolutely unaffordable.
Thinking about this, Gu Zuo naturally had to do his best for Tianheng.
Time passed in an instant.
Soon, Tianheng would leave for the palace and go to Azure Dragon Pool to cultivate.
At this moment, whether if it was a member of the Gongyi Clan or Gu Zuo himself, no one could follow along. As a result, under the protection of Dragon Two, Gu Zuo stayed in the secret room to refine medicine.
And so, Gongyi Tianheng left, and he didn’t return for many days.
______
Countless hand arts breached the interior of a pill cauldron. The fluid inside was boiling, taking the shape of tiny medicinal balls. Under the roasting flames, the more balls that were condensed, the stronger the medicinal fragrance became.
In front of that pill cauldron, the youth’s fingers abruptly transformed into several extremely mysterious motions. Those medicinal balls were drawn by a strand of power and shot out of the cauldron!
The youth didn’t dare neglect anything and reached out a hand to grab a jade bowl by his side, which he swept through the air.
Instantly, the sharp and clear sound of bells echoed out. There were several medicinal pills in that jade bowl.
To be precise, there were five pills.
These medicinal pills appeared to be an ordinary brown. However, if one first rotated it, the pill would shine green, yellow, red, white, and black. With these five colors, they were plump, flawless, and very beautiful.
Gu Zuo scrutinized them for a while and found that there truly wasn’t the slightest sign of obstruction in the circulation of the five-colored lights. This made him reveal a huge smile.
At last, he succeeded!
Ever since Gongyi Tianheng left to soak in the Azure Dragon Pool two to three days ago, Gu Zuo already set out to refine this new kind of medicinal pill — The Five Essence Pill. Merely, this pill required a balance of the five elements; the essence of the five elements were extracted and condensed into a single, tiny medicinal pill. In addition, the amounts of each essence had to be exactly the same, which made it very difficult for the pharmacist.

Gu Zuo’s cultivation method was powerful, his hand arts were powerful, and his body’s aptitude was very high. However, even though it was like this, his very first time refining the Five Essence Pill only produced three flawed pills.
By his own estimate, the level of this low grade product was genuinely regarded as the medicinal pills with the lowest qualities since he started pill refining.
Afterwards, Gu Zuo made several great efforts, but what he refined were very many flawed products. Fortunately, his standards slowly rose over time. Gradually, he could refine mid grade and high grade pills. Until finally, he could genuinely refine five units of top grade Five Essence Pills.
That’s right. If he completely utilized this pill’s medicinal ingredients, he could produce five top grade pills.
This was why Gu Zuo was this happy.
Immediately following this, Gu Zuo continuously refined dozens of cauldrons’ worth of pills.
Because he had such vigorous psychic powers now, so long as he had enough every day, he could refine as many as he wanted. Basically, he wouldn’t have any feeling of being deficient in psychic power.
Through the process of his continued proficiencies, the speed of his pill refining sped up with each cauldron. It allowed him to gather dozens of medicinal qi strands.
A good while later, Gu Zuo used a white jade gourd to collect the Five Essence Pills in preparation for when Tianheng returned. They would all be given to him as a present.
As for those with flaws, he just had Dragon Two put them in regular pots.
Alright. It’d be better to have Tianheng handle them once he got back, too.
Gu Zuo thought of something. Although his surrogate big brother could now cultivate, his meridians weren’t particularly strong. The Xiantian Qi inside of him basically wasn’t completely refined. As for whether his qi would be refined after he emerged from the Azure Dragon Pool, it was still hard to say right now. The Tiandu Body was truly inconvenient, and the meridians’ insides weren’t any good in the short-term. Yet he couldn’t say when his big brother had to leave for distant lands in the future. If he could go with Tianheng, then it’d naturally be great. However, if there wasn’t a way for him to follow along…the daily medicinal decoctions would come to a halt. In fact, this also wasn’t any good.
To tell the truth, Gu Zuo was a bit of a perfectionist.
He was eager to let his surrogate big brother use the very best, most suitable things for recuperating. For example, when he discovered that the medicinal cuisines made from the best wild beast meats were more suitable for his big brother to absorb, he started personally preparing all his meals. At first, his big brother’s health wasn’t affected too much by the medicine. However, he still wanted to make his big brother soak once a day to repeatedly consolidate the effects.
It was better now. Top grade Qi Generating Pills could supply enough ambient qi. The Five Essence Pills could hasten the viscera’s qi and blood to circulate and strengthen the meridians. This wasn’t because of any breaks in medicinal cuisines or decoctions, which would’ve had negative effects on his big brother. Of course, the medicinal cuisines and decoctions were even more meticulous. Once he returned, there was still time to continue this regimen…
After having arranged this, Gu Zuo didn’t feel so tangled inside.
Once he thought it over, he shouted to a corner: “Dragon Two.”
In the blink of an eye, a shadow appeared in front of Gu Zuo.
It was a black clothed man who was limber, handsome, youthful, and solemn. It was Dragon Two.
Dragon Two was very deferential to Gu Zuo: “Pharmacist Gu.”
Gu Zuo smiled: “How about accompanying me on a trip today?”
Dragon Two paused slightly, before nodding: “Allow this subordinate to go find some Tianlong guards to protect the secret room.”
Gu Zuo knew that this was a consideration for his own safety. He’d already gotten used to being “watched over” by someone nearby anytime and anywhere. He didn’t have any objections: “Great. No problem.”
Even if he wasn’t accustomed to it occasionally, his small life was even more important. He absolutely couldn’t offend any obstinate characters.
Dragon Two walked to the doorway and whistled.
Several shadows quickly appeared near the door. After showing their respect to Gu Zuo, they hid themselves.
Gu Zuo didn’t know when he did it, but Dragon Two had changed to ordinary clothing and his appearance became average. They left the Gongyi residence from another overlooked exit.
Then, Gu Zuo stretched his body: “Dragon Two, bring me to visit a place where medicinal herbs are sold.”
Dragon Two thought deeply for a moment before turning down a bend in the road, taking Gu Zuo along South Street.
This was part of the Gongyi Clan’s territory. The many stores here were either opened by the Clan or were leased by the Clan, whereby they had to pay the Gongyi Clan rent. In short, their relationships were linked in countless ways.
In addition, there were several Families that owned shops here, but there weren’t many overall. Furthermore, they were placed under fixed restrictions. The same was true for the Gongyi stores that were on streets that belonged to other Families or Clans. It was only the properties of the royal family that had certain privileges, regardless of location.
South Street intersected many smaller streets, including one that was specialized in selling medicinal herbs. Just as Dragon Two brought Gu Zuo to the entrance, Gu Zuo’s psychic power slightly extended, perceiving countless first-rate medicinal herbs.
He couldn’t help being shocked: No wonder big brother could transfer so many herbs over in an endless wave!
As for what Gu Zuo wanted to do here…
Firstly, after he settled Qi Tianyou’s matter, the youth’s nature was much more relaxed. While he thought about visiting earlier this year, he still never took a stroll through the imperial capital’s streets;
Secondly, he wanted to find the medicinal herbs for two other kinds of pills — Because Gongyi Tianheng wasn’t present, he felt that those two medicinal pills were a little dangerous. So even though he had the authority to order the Tianlong Guard to transfer the herbs, he was still a bit hesitant.
These two medicinal pills were: The Ageless Pill [1] and the Xiantian Pill.

Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!
