Chapter 276
Tondemo Skill – 276 – Resentful Noises from the Sake Loving Duo (Bonus)
“Uggh…”
[8] The moment I regained consciousness, I wanted to die. The pain in my head throbbed along with my heartbeat, which felt very loud in my ears…
“Oww…”
[8] Carefully holding my head, I did my best to roll to a sitting position and accidentally bumped into something that clinked and rolled away. The bottled rolled and clinked against more empty bottles.
Collapsed between the mountains of bottles were party members of [Ark] and [Shadow Warriors].
Well, Gaudino-san has the bed to himself, I wonder why…
Fer, Dora-chan and Sui were sleeping in a pile in a corner. I recognised Fer’s triple futon set up. There were no bottles around them.
I looked around through squinted eyes but did not see Elland-san and Feodora-san. [2] Maa, well, those two were more interested in eating than drinking, so I guess they're safe from the hangover from hell. I vaguely remember them roasting their own barbecue skewers while the rest of us were drinking ourselves silly.
Images of Feodora-san with a skewer in each hand with cheeks stuffed with meat[1] and Elland-san sliding grilled meat from skewers into my familiar’s bowl flashed through my mind. Oh, I guess it’s a good thing he’s there to take care of my familiars' dinner.
My last, clearest memory was Siegwald-san’s loud ‘Let’s drink the night away!’
I guess we really did that.
There weren’t enough liquor to last us even half a day, so I ended up buying more from [Net Super], but by that time, everyone was too plastered to care about how we got our drinks.
“Ugh…” aside from the terrible headache, I was feeling very sick too.
“Is this…hangover? Doesn’t God’s Blessing recognise hangover as an abnormal condition?” I muttered to myself.

“Humph, naturally,” a voice in my head thundered. “Unfortunately, the blessing could not negate effects from things brought in from another world.”
My mind nearly whited out from the excruciating pain, I recognised that rumble somehow, “I-is that Vahagn-sama?” or Hephaestus-sama?
“Yo, we saw everything. Didn't we, God of War?”
“Yes, it was a most wonderful party. Isn't it, God of Blacksmiths?”
“Looks like our little friend treats his Adventurers friends very well,”
“Serving them many, many, many kinds of liquor,” [5]
“Ah, w-well, since it’s a party hosted by me. A host should keep the drinks flowing…” [5]
“This guy is so extravagant, he even uses alcohol as weapons against monsters. My heart breaks each time a bottle shatters,”
“Well, it can’t be helped. It’s done for the greater good. However, I’m not sure what kind of greater good yesterday was supposed to serve.”
Gunununu, why were they were hanging around my shoulder yesterday?

“Well, that’s because, WE ENJOY SEEING YOU DRINK!!”
[9] Ugh, my head! I think something might have ruptured in my head…
[6] They were still talking but all I could register was this throbbing pain.
“Stop it! Stop it!” I hissed. “You want something from me? Fine, I’ll give it to you but you’d better make sure Ninril-sama and the rest don’t find out.” Anything to stop the throbbing pain in my head.
“Uh, we’d like that but… [5]”
“Those goddesses have strangely sharp noses when it’s most inconvenient… [5]”
[5] [6] “So? What do you want?” I muttered into the sudden lapse of silence. When no smart remarks came I sighed and said. “How about this, for the next offering, you and the goddesses may choose an item of your choice after spending your 2 gold budget. The item must be 1 gold or less. Well?”

“Just 1 gold?”
“All the whiskeys I want are above 1 gold!”
[9] Ugh, that sudden throb was vicious. “Fine, around 1 gold,” I lay back with my eyes closed. I don’t care anymore.
“Ahh, that sounds good.”
“Excellent,”

Please go away, I thought unhappily.
“Sure, sure, rest well,”
“I look forward to our next meeting!”
I waited for a few miserable seconds. When there was no follow up I sighed and breathed in deeply-
“Oi, where’s our breakfast?”
[5] Ugh.
Knowing that I cannot avoid this. [2] I forced myself to sit up. “I’m a bit sick today, so I can only give you some readymade food.”
“Humph, it’s your own fault for drinking bad-tasting things that made you sick,” Fer sounded very condescending.
I rolled my eyes and promptly regretted it. “Us liking alcohol is the same as you liking meat,” I said as I opened up [Net Super] and bought a bunch of readymade stuff. Croquette Dog, Yakisoba Dog, Curry Bread, Sausage Rolls, Corn & Mayo Rolls etc. For some reason, all I could think about was bread and bread rolls. Since my familiars liked sweet things, I also got some Cream Buns and other sweet breads.
For myself, I got an energy drink that was supposed to work well against hangover and chugged that first before removing the plastic bags around the bread. All the plastics were set aside for Sui, of course.
“Eat these first, okay? I’m going to sleep a bit more.”
Since I’m already up, I took out my futon from the [Item Box] and lay it down on the corner near Fer’s sleeping area. The energy drink must be working its magic already, or perhaps I was enjoying some placebo effects. Regardless of which, when I laid myself down on the futon, my head no longer throbbed as badly…
[Eguchi Ren: I had a lot of fun researching about various liquors when writing these chapters. Did you understand them?]
[Gumihou: This one only reached 1000 words with the Notes. So, it counts as a bonus chapter. Especially since Gumi also added the bits about the hangover issues]

[9] Hangover pain: The original text read more like Mukouda was annoyed by these two. However, Gumi has experienced hangover before, the sheer desire to just get people to just STOP talking has to be an incredible motivation for Mukouda to agree with whatever they want.

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.
