Chapter 344
Chapter 344: I Am Very Similar To You, Monster Emperor
“Old Master, Young Master is really at Domain Realm . That is just so terrifying . Maybe in just a short time, Young Master will be able to reach the Dao Realm . ” Old Wu was filled with both excitement and disbelief .
It was like he didn’t expect it at all .
After all, this was just too quick and he was still too young .
By the time Young Master reached their age, how terrifyingly strong would he be?
Just thinking about it, he was filled with disbelief .
Maybe this was a little too fake .
“I am worried whether or not there is someone behind Fan’er . ” Lin Wanyi’s face was really solemn .
Old Wu kept silent, Old Master’s words did make sense .
The main reason was that Young Master’s cultivation speed was just too quick which caused them to suspect things .
Old Wu said, “Old Master, I don’t think there is, otherwise you would definitely be able to find out . Also, Young Master cultivated Bug Controlling Technique by luck . Why don’t we ask Zhang Tianshan whether there are mysterious people at Martial Path Mountain?”
“Eh . ” Lin Wanyi nodded his head . If Lin Fan really didn’t have people supporting him, then that was just really amazing .
… .
Lin Fan tried to sense the Darkness God Domain and he could sense a tight relationship with his body .
He was also able to control the grey mist in his Domain .
“Domains are invisible but mine has form . Is it because this Darkness God Domain is a God Country?”
Lin Fan had a special way of thinking; he thought about things that others didn’t dare to .
This Darkness God Domain was actually a God Country .
It might have been heavily damaged which was why it became like that .
He had to continue studying and figuring it out .
This unknown item was filled with a sense of mystery .
The next day, Lin Fan wanted to find his father to ask some things, but then he thought about how his father only scolded him and made him dispirited and unhappy .
“Manager, are you busy?” Lin Fan came to look for Zhang Sheng . The two of them were quite familiar with one another .
At least when everyone was hiding their identities, he frequented Drunk Fragrance Pavilion and spent a lot of money there .
Zhang Sheng said, “Young Master Lin, I am free since the Alliance didn’t attack . What is the matter?”
Lin Fan’s cultivation reaching Domain Realm was something that everyone knew and was shocked by .
How did he do it?
This situation totally confused everyone .
“Actually, it is nothing much . Now that I am at Domain Realm, I need Manager to tell me about the following realms to give me an idea . ”
The techniques that he got from his father were at most Domain Realm .
He didn’t get any after that .
On the side of the Alliance, eight-star generals were Domain Realm experts and he didn’t know what nine-star generals were .
It would have originally been easy to find out about this .
But there was no point as he was too weak, and if he found out about the future realms, it would make him too eager to improve .
But the times were different .
He was now at Domain Realm and should have known what was ahead .
“Oh, so it is this matter . That’s fine, it is just something small . After Domain Realm is Dao Realm . However, there is a huge difference between Dao Realm and the realms in front of it . I feel like it is the difference between humans and gods . ”
“Dao Realm is split into a total of nine levels and each has a shocking ability . The first level is Dao Pattern; it is a crucial step in Dao Realm whereby one forms their cultivation techniques into a Dao pattern . Of course, the strength of which depends on one’s understandings of the techniques…”
Zhang Sheng described the Dao Realm to Lin Fan enthusiastically .
Lin Fan was shocked .
He didn’t expect it to be so complicated .
A while later, Zhang Sheng coughed and woke up Lin Fan, who was in deep thought .
“Young Master, this is the situation of the Dao Realm . ” Zhang Sheng smiled .
Lin Fan touched his chin and as expected this was really complicated .
“Manager, then what realm are you at?” Lin Fan asked curiously .
Zhang Sheng said, “I am only at the third level, Yin Yang Five Element . ”
Lin Fan wanted to know which level his father had reached, but Zhang Sheng didn’t know . He only guessed that he was level six or seven .
When he heard it, he was confused about how it was so low, but from Manager’s words, it was already an extremely high cultivation .
Dao Realm’s nine levels was a cultivation tier system that had been passed down from ancient times . For so many years, one had never heard of anyone reaching the ninth level .
There were even people who felt that the last few realms were legends and didn’t exist and that the cultivation journey was just so short .
Lin Fan nodded his head . It seemed like he had to improve on his own .
Let me become the first Dao Realm Level Nine expert .
“Thank you, Manager . ” Lin Fan waved his hand and went back to study the cannon . He was free, so he would definitely spend time on it . Who knew whether the Alliance would continue to attack? He was filled with anticipation .
Zhang Sheng watched as Lin Fan left and muttered, “So overpowered . ”
Apart from those words, he really didn’t know how to describe him .
Three strongholds that the Alliance took down…
King Wutong had moved in a long while ago .
But, he was in a really awkward situation now .
Within the huge hall, King Wutong sat in the dragon chair . This chair was just made . He originally didn’t want it, but Liu Xuan, that dog, insisted .
In their words, although they hadn’t taken over the Imperial Dynasty, one had to behave like they did . They directly called him Emperor .
Now, that wasn’t the key issue .
The main thing was that a bunch of experts had appeared . He didn’t know where they came from; they weren’t from any sects and had just randomly appeared . They said that they came to support the real Emperor .
Everyone here, apart from King Wutong, really wanted to revolt which made him feel like he had encountered a terrifying situation .
There was no way back and they were all taking this very seriously .
As the advisor, Liu Xuan felt like his status was raised and he knelt down, “Your Majesty, the Alliance is suppressing the border . The Imperial Court has sent many experts to help and can’t defend themselves, so this is our best chance . ”
King Wutong sat on the throne with a solemn expression . He wanted to kill Liu Xuan, but didn’t find a good chance . Liu Xuan had followed all the rules, so if he randomly found a reason to kill him, it would make many people suspicious .
The Alliance found him and wanted to cooperate with him . Liu Xuan thought that no one knew that he was in contact with the Alliance envoy, but actually he knew long ago .
“Eh, it is a good chance, but it isn’t good enough; we have to wait . With Old Ancestor Su at Zuo City, it is tough to trample over Zuo City to reach the capital . Gather the troops and wait for the best chance before attacking . ” King Wutong said .
He could only delay time .
He definitely couldn’t attack the capital .
The situation at the border was really urgent and the Alliance was aggressively moving forward . If he led troops to attack the capital, he would just make the Imperial Court more worried .
“Your Majesty…” Liu Xuan wanted to say something, but when he saw King Wutong’s scary gaze, he swallowed his words .
“Your Majesty, actually, there is not much to worry about . I don’t think I am weaker than Old Ancestor Su, so if he dares to block me, I will kill him . ” The old man sitting below said .
Kill your head? What is he even bragging about?
This old man was just an expert who popped out from nowhere and he was really arrogant when he spoke . Especially when he talked about Old Ancestor Su, his expression was like he was saying that he didn’t hold him in any regard .
“Naturally, I know how strong Old Wei is but Old Ancestor Su is the Country Protector and he is really strong too, so we can’t underestimate him . To be safe, we should just wait . ” King Wutong calmed everyone down .
Damn .
These bunch of rebels .
Things shouldn’t have become like this .
The Emperor and him had done this before and they knew what they had to do . Who knew that everything would change and he would be caught off guard, not knowing how to proceed?
His brother said that he had to rely on his own judgement and there was no need to contact him .
Thus, King Wutong could only think for himself . At the very least, he couldn’t make any random moves now and definitely couldn’t bring trouble to the Imperial Court .
“Your Majesty, I don’t think we should be too rash . Now that we just took over the stronghold, we should stabilize and we shouldn’t invade another area . Otherwise, things might backfire . ” Another advisor said .
It wasn’t that he was on his side; he was someone who wanted to revolt, but he had conflicts with Liu Xuan and went against him . Thus, he didn’t want Liu Xuan to show off in front of King Wutong .
What he meant was obvious; he just wanted to go against him .
You suggested for him to attack while I would have suggested for him not to . No matter what, I was not going to agree with you .
“Eh, that makes sense . ” King Wutong nodded his head and agreed . His gaze towards him became much more friendly .
Liu Xuan squinted and looked at him . That dog, one day I will kill you . You actually went against me for every single decision .
Haiz!
King Wutong was really bitter deep down and he was under a lot of pressure . Any step he took now could push the Imperial Dynasty into the abyss .
Monster Emperor, Monster Emperor where are you?
King Wutong thought about the Monster Emperor . He had worked with the Monster Emperor to uproot Nine Bug Gang .
But now, he noticed that the Monster Emperor was a decent person .
Although he was sick in the head, he helped stop many sects that came to join his side .
In his words: All you rubbish sects want to revolt? Scram to the side .
But now, without him stopping them, one could see so many more sects joining .
There were at least dozens of sects .
Adding all of them together, they were very powerful . If they really charged towards the capital, the outcome would be catastrophic .
At that moment, the Alliance envoy arrived .
“King Wutong, it is time for you to act . ” The Alliance envoy walked in and stood in the center of the hall .
“Eh?” King Wutong frowned, “When I act is up to me . Moreover, the Su Family is defending Zuo City, so do you want me to send people to their deaths?”
The envoy smiled, “Don’t worry, your majesty . We have stopped Old Ancestor Su and he won’t appear in the short run . There is enough time for you to take down the cities and proceed towards the capital . ”
King Wutong was expressionless but deep down he was shocked .
What did that mean?
Was Old Ancestor Su in danger?

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

New God
Who said being a God was easy. If you started omniscient; omnipotent and omnipresent then it might be. However, without those powers it would be a different story entirely. This is that story. Adam is thrown into a new world with no choice and no instructions. At least he is a God, whatever that means... Lovely Royal Road readers: Imagine a tutorial with no instructions and no idea what the game was meant to be and what you are trying to achieve. All you know is that you are a God (whatever that means). So this is quite slow to start; mainly world building for me; a bit of base building by the MC and some good old minion development. I'm developing/practicing my writing and love the format of RR to get it out of my head. So hopefully it gets better with time as I get better. All feedback welcome - but please critique and tell me why you don't like it (if you don't) I'd rather a 1-star review than a 2-star(plus) rating!
