Chapter 1037: 1037
Chapter 1037: The Missing Realm Core
Besides the Armored Star Broodmother, a giant human of ten-thousand-meter height had shown himself. The palm had grown beyond measure.
Only two humans remained close to his feet. They were Blooming Lord and Zhao Ge.
As for other users, they were forced to leave through the spatial tunnel after Ahn Ping Prime arrived.
After four swoops, only a small portion of fragments was left at the scene. The giant body began to shrink.
He did not reduce to the size of a normal human but maintained his height at about twenty meters. The Prime glanced at Zhao Ge and Blooming Lord, frowning.
The expression was especially intimidating due to his enlarged face.
“Have either of you taken the ability core and the realm core?”
Blooming Lord and Zhao Ge immediately tensed up.
“Prime, we have only swept the perimeter and didn’t go back in yet.”
Blooming Lord was slightly more relaxed in comparison. Her father was one of the eight primes known by the name Forestral Prime. Ahn Ping Prime would not pick on her too much.
“The cores are gone? We still had a short glimpse of it before we were repelled. Perhaps they had disappeared through the rift in the central zone?”
They had been pushed quite far following the explosion. With their vision blocked by the cloud of fragments and carcasses, they could not track the cores with either their eyes or consciousness.
“Alright, then.” Ahn Ping Prime did not say anything else after that.
There was indeed a narrowing rift at the central zone. The cores had probably slipped into it just as Blooming Lord suggested.
To Ahn Ping Prime, a realm core was not really that important. After all, an Immortal was near invincible.
He would live forever and ever. The loss of a realm core did not bother him that much.

Ahn Ping Prime ripped open a hundred-meter-long rift. He entered the spatial tunnel and disappeared from their sights.
Phew!
Blooming Lord and Zhao Ge were finally relieved.
‘Oh yeah, we forgot to report about Qin Feng.’ Zhao Ge thought about it. But all that was left were the scattered fragments. If Qin Feng was really inside the broodmother during the explosion, he must have disintegrated by now.
A lot had died in this battle without leaving behind their corpses.
Zhao Ge did not really care. Even users from the Human Alliance had grown a little heartless, especially those at Zhao Ge’s rank. They had experienced way too many warzones in their lifetime. This time was no different from the past, and the next one would be the same.
“Blooming Lord, let’s split the rest of the materials?”
“Of course!”
They shared the remaining loot at a fifty-fifty split. Though Blooming Lord regretted not informing his father, it would be a loss to the Human Alliance if there were any conflict between the two Primes.
The leftovers may be rubbish unwanted by the Immortal, but the remaining broodmother’s fragments were treasures to the two SSS-tier users.

Two figures appeared inside Qin Feng’s villa at Fengli City.
Qin Feng felt secure after finally returning to a familiar place.
“You are definitely in something dangerous again. Even the Immortal came this time!” Bai Li stared at Qin Feng. If Qin Feng had not returned safely along with the lucrative rewards, she would have given him a good lecture.
“I never expected this to happen as well. I accepted a specific mission recently…” Qin Feng told Bai Li everything he encountered.
Bai Li did not need any evidence and concluded, “This must be Shao Dongfeng’s doing. Ahn Ping Prime did this on purpose. Zhao Ge was probably just a pawn. They probably lied to him too to lure you into the trap.”

“Guess so. I doubt Zhao Ge would have gone with me if he knew that the SSS-tier broodmother was about to evolve into an Immortal. Maybe even Ahn Ping Prime didn’t foresee it.”
“Who cares. We have hoarded all the good stuff. If he finds out, the Prime would not let us off easily. I think you should not visit the Human Alliance anymore.” Bai Li stared at Qin Feng with her beautiful eyes. She did not like Qin Feng visiting the Human Alliance headquarter because she could not go there.
There seemed to be a lot of unspoken rules that suggested that she and Qin Feng could not and should not be together. They were not of the same species and Qin Feng’s world rejected her.
Bai Li had never discussed this with Qin Feng, and the latter was not attentive enough to realize Bai Li’s awkward situation. However, Qin Feng was very disappointed with the Human Alliance after this incident as well and decided not to return there.
“Just let them assume that I have died in the explosion.” Qin Feng nodded in compliance.

However, he still had the obligation to inform those in Huaxia. The S-tiers would know what to tell the Human Alliance if they did not want any trouble.
Qin Feng knew exactly who he could rely on for this.
“Marshal Qin, leave this to me. I will inform the rest of them. We are not so active in the headquarters now, so don’t worry.” Long Ting ensured Qin Feng.
“You have my thanks.”
Qin Feng’s influence had grown considerably after his meteoric rise in rank. Before, it was Long Ting who would delegate work to Qin Feng. Now, their roles have been reversed.
After the matter was settled, another problem troubled Qin Feng’s mind.
“What exactly is an Immortal…” He murmured.
Qin Feng left the villa and went to Chu Fan’s lab. Z’s lab was right next to it.
Qin Feng had now become more powerful than Z. Besides, Z’s lab was entirely funded by the Fengli Organization. All of Z’s staff knew Qin Feng by now. They stopped their work and greeted Qin Feng as he stepped into the laboratory.
“President Qin!”
“Good day, President. Are you here to look for Doctor Z?”
The researchers had no idea that Z was an S-tier ability user. They just viewed him as a mad, but at the same time, visionary scientist.
“Pretend I’m not here. I will look for him myself. Continue with your work.”
Qin Feng’s perception had already sensed Z’s position. Z did not seal off the experimental ground. In fact, he was currently being surrounded by most of the lab members. Qin Feng could see that he was inside a large transparent vessel. Numerous tubes connected to the vessel were delivering unknown liquid into it.
Z was experimenting on himself.
One of the liquids was gold in color. Qin Feng bet that it must be the latest version of the awakening potion. The other fluids were probably liquefied energy.
Z noticed Qin Feng and raised his eyebrows. He curiously delivered a telepathic message to Qin Feng.
“What a rare guest. Why are you here today?”
“What are you doing this time?” Qin Feng did not answer him and asked another question instead.
“Are you beginning to have interest in my experiment? Great! You don’t need to do what I am doing. Judging by the energy level in your body, you would only need to take a dose of the awakening potion to be perfected,” Z answered enthusiastically.
“I am not interested. But keep talking,” Qin Feng replied.

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/

The Animo Saga
Before history was well-recorded in the world of Ulakam, primordial animal spirits adopted humans, provided protection and developed deep spiritual connections with them. Millennia later, humans now host animal spirits and are split into tribes named for the species they host. Ulakam is slowly being consumed by a decades-long war pitting the main tribes against the smaller tribes and a group of bandits calling themselves "the resistance". Callida Animo was born into this world. Coming from a mixed family of generational soldiers, Callida joined the family business at a young age. In her words, she was practically bred, born, and raised to be a soldier. And she's good at what she does... which inevitably attracts attention that makes her unambitious self extremely uncomfortable. Love, loss, influence and growth. This is her story. Written episodically, this story focuses on relationships and character growth through a series of mini-arcs that connect to make a greater whole. (Honestly, the story would lend itself well to a TV series.) "Episodes" range from 3-7 chapters (at least so far), and average about 4 or 5 chapters. Author's note: I'm always thrilled to receive comments, follows, ratings/reviews, messages.... All forms of feedback are welcome and encouraged. However, I have no interest in begging readers for more engagement to get better visibility. I tried that with my last story and found the game soul-sucking. So! This constitutes my only self-promotion request. If you are reading this story, let me know what you think! I love engaging with my readers. We'll see if growing the readership organically is even possible. Thank you! 😘 Release schedule: Weekly on Wednesday afternoons
