Chapter 1031: 1031
Zhao Ge immediately frowned, an indication that he did not agree to Qin Feng’s proposition.
“We have no time to lose! If we miss this chance, who knows what would happen in another half a month!” Zhao Ge said.
Qin Feng explained further, “But how is now our chance? Mr Zhao, we don’t have the faintest idea of the location of the broodmother and its nest. We don’t know how many Insectoids are out there too. It would be unwise to head out there without a plan!”
“Qin Feng, don’t tell me you’re scared? So, are you not with us?” An SS-tier ability user who was standing next to Zhao Ge stepped forward to provoke Qin Feng.
However, there was no way Qin Feng would fall for his taunt. Besides, if he was really unwilling to go, no one would be able to stop him from staying put.
“My god weapon requires a few more materials to refine. I want to get some more minerals to complete the refinement process. I’m sorry but I don’t intend to fight in a war where I do not have enough winning chips in my hand. I’ll need just one more month to prepare.”
Zhao Ge raised an eyebrow and glared at Qin Feng. He thought that this was a bluff.
“Alright, how about this? What materials do you need? Just tell us. I could provide you with whatever you need to complete that refinement. You can repay me with the combat scores that you earn by killing the broodmother later. Will this do?”
This was a good deal. It was quite reasonable, so there was no reason to refute.
“Yes, this will do!” Qin Feng nodded. He was smirking in his mind. Heh, if this excuse was not enough, he would still come up with another.
Seeing that Qin Feng had conceded, Zhao Ge thought that Qin Feng was actually trying to bargain for a tiny bit of merit from the hunt, making the young man appear to be quite petty. This made Zhao Ge’s view of Qin Feng a rather lowly one from thereon.

Still, enough with the acting. Zhao Ge had also invited other ability users to be in the team. Well, in reality, there were only three ability users that were really on his side—they all knew what the real plan was. When things go south later, they would only protect Zhao Ge and each other, leaving the others to die together with Qin Feng on the battlefield.
‘If you want to blame, blame Qin Feng, you fools!’ Zhao Ge thought to himself.
A few moments later, Zhao Geng’s underlings walked away from Qin Feng with grim faces—Qin Feng had asked for top-tier minerals. They had to take them out from their vaults for Qin Feng before they themselves got to use them.
“Oh, and remember I still need time to refine my weapon. With these here, I don’t need a month’s time now. But I would still need about 20 days. I’m very sorry for causing this much trouble to everyone’s schedule. So, to make up for it, I’ll handle the defenses in the colony for the next 20 days. I’ll help out in clearing out the armored stars too! Would this do?” Qin Feng asked.
Zhao Ge’s face turned even grimmer. “Qin Feng, you can’t do that.”
“I did say refining my weapon would require time. I thought I mentioned that just moments ago.” Qin Feng said while glinting up a confused look. “If you’re in a hurry, Mr Zhao, it’s okay to depart first. Don’t worry. I’ll catch up with you later. In fact, I’ll do my best to kill all the armored stars too to repay your minerals.”
Zhao Ge was extremely pissed.
“Don’t push it, Qin Feng! Know your place!”
Seeing that Qin Feng and Zhao Ge were about to start a fight, the others started to gather together to calm both sides down.
“Mr Zhao, having Qin Feng improve his weapo would objectively make the fight easier. Waiting for him has merit.”

“We don’t need to take on the broodmother right now. It would be better if we wait for another month and get more allies.”
“If we could get rid of some armored stars in the area, it could ease our minds when we handle the broodmother later.”
Everyone seemed to agree to wait for another month.
Qin Feng was able to earn himself quite the reputation from the Human Peace Contest. Not only that, Qin Feng had also been working hard when facing off against the ultra beasts on the battlefield here.
Thus, with both his reputation and actions spoken loudly to everyone here, the public was speaking in favor of Qin Feng. Besides, they believed that Qin Feng’s proposition was within reason. Not only that, Qin Feng had aslo volunteered to defend the base.
And there was indeed no need to rush it. Waiting for another month was not a problem for them.
However, Zhao Ge had an unspeakable secret agenda; so, he began to panic.
“It’s best to not hold this off. I can’t wait for a month. Make it half a month.” Zhao Ge tried to concede to a compromise.
There was no way he would wait for a whole month. If he did that, he could not answer to Ahn Ping Prime.
“Sure, this would do too.” Qin Feng, too, had conceded.

Half a month was good enough a compromise for him. If things were to go south, he could still try to ask for another rain check. Besides, Zhao Ge could not openly kill him in public anyway.
After reaching an agreement, Qin Feng brought the minerals to his quarters and took out the Magical Tesseract.
“After upgrading to SS-tier, I wonder if the Verdant Emperor Saber could still be upgraded.”
Despite how powerful the Magical Tesseract was, it was bound to have a limit. The question was not whether it had a limit but just how far its limit was.
Qin Feng took out his Verdant Emperor Saber and tossed it into the Tesseract. Then, he took out the materials of the Bloodlust Centipede and void beasts and threw them into the Tesseract together with the minerals he received from Zhao Ge.
A short moment later, the Tesseract was able to separate most of the materials’ unimportant substances.
At this rate, the Magical Tesseract should be able to complete the refining process in another three months.
Qin Feng did not have three months.
However, he had other means to deal with this dilemma—he tossed the Magical Tesseract into a realm that was moving faster in time.
A few moments later, the Tesseract came back; and a saber reflecting with crimson glints could be found inside the Tesseract.
Qin Feng took out the Verdant Emperor Saber with his consciousness.
The Verdant Emperor Saber let out a loud vibrating noise while unleashing a gush of bloodthirsty aura. The saber had evolved into a devilish saber.
“Now, with this saber with me, even the SS-tier Broodmother wouldn’t stand a chance against me.”
Qin Feng wielded the Verdant Emperor Saber in his hand as he thought to himself.
Now, all he needed to be aware of was Zhao Ge.
In that half a month, there was a new ability user who had joined their ranks. This one was an SSS-tier; not only that, it was the Blooming Lord Petalbrook.
“Hey, Qin Feng! We meet again!” Petalbrook spoke to Qin Feng warmly.
Right now, Petalbrook was in a different position. Back then, Petalbrook was the protector of her own realm at Omnesflores. Although she was renowned for her beauty, her real reputation came from her leadership. She was a capable general on the battlefield; and to her, Qin Feng was like a brother-in-arm who she had once fought alongside.

Knights of the Partition
We like to think there are no monsters. No magic, no gods, nothing waiting in the night but the stars and cold, hard science. It’s a comforting thought. It isn't true. Magic isn't common, mind you. But rare or not, the magic isn't gone. The great Working that protects us from the horrors of the past does not have the power to destroy such things. Instead, it created the Partition, a tapestry of worlds beyond the boundary of our own. There the magic roams, searching for a way to come back. I am a Knight of Avalon.
