Chapter 663: Testing
Others on the floating ice could no longer stand by.
“Chen Sha, let me help you!”
A wave propelled an ability user forward.
Yu Yangtao was concerned.
“Retreat with the vessel,” Yu Yangtao ordered and walked toward the exit of the submarine.
“Don’t go, Boss!”
Yu Yangtao’s crew was different from those temporarily hired by Qin Feng. They had been through life and death with him for a long time. The most experienced one had been on board for ten years.
They did not want anything to happen to their leader.
“Consider this as my bad luck. Without that person, we wouldn’t have escaped anyway. I can’t bear to turn my back on our savior like this. This is my fate and I shouldn’t push it onto someone else. Otherwise, I would be tortured by my conscience for the rest of my life.”
The eyes of Yu Yangtao’s underlings became teary. They knew that nothing they said could stop Yu Yangtao now.
Yu Yangtao walked out of the passage and came out on the sea surface.
At that time, the two sides were already tangled up in an intense fight. Yu Yangtao bellowed loftily, “Chen Sha, Wang Yangying, let me be your opponent!”
A gale ascended and carried Yu Yangtao into the battlefield.
Qin Feng frowned when he saw a stranger dash toward them aggressively. However, he did not pay him much attention.
This was because Yu Yangtao could not have helped him if he came now. There was another B-tier waiting on the floating ice.
“Wow, we have a brave one here. You should have run while the nut head over there is stalling us. But since you have brought yourself to us, I will gladly take your life and your ship.” Yang Qian chastised and infused his body with internal power. A burst of qinggong brought him straight to Yu Yangtao.

Three versus two, the Dark Coalition pirate appeared to have the upper hand.
The arrival of Yu Yangtao had only prevented the three B-tiers from targeting Qin Feng at once. However, it did not change Qin Feng’s current situation.
Qin Feng once again evaded the assaults of the two ability users and pulled out a distance.
‘It seems fire ability is really ineffective here.’
Currently, Qin Feng’s most powerful ability was Fire Wall. But on this ocean, the strength of the Fire Wall had been halved.
Furthermore, even though Qin Feng’s consciousness was quite powerful, it was still only a C7-tier. Such conscious power was no match to his current internal strength and thus it could only compete evenly with the two B-tier ability users.
Even so, being able to fight on even ground was enough to frighten his two opponents, Chen Sha and Wang Yangying.
Though startled, the latter had no choice since they had lost their vessel. Their only way to escape the Abyssal Ocean now was to kill Qin Feng and Yu Yangtao, then claim their vessels. Or else, they would not survive more than an hour being exposed in this unforgiving sea.
Ultimately, it was either their lives or Qin Feng’s life.
“Water Dragon Style!”
A roaring water dragon emerged from the ocean with four other dragons following closely behind it. Other than water runes, Wang Yangying could utilize seawater to strengthen his skill as well. In this arena, Wang Yangying was perhaps more dangerous than Chen Sha.
“Penta Dragon Bolt!”
“Roar! ”
Five horrendous dragons surrounded Qin Feng’s space.
“Let’s see how you can escape now! You… What!?” Wang Yangying’s eyes opened wide in disbelief. He only saw a blurred silhouette and Qin Feng had since disappeared from the spot.
The two had seen and battled enough to exclaim almost simultaneously, “Dark ability!”

The next moment, even Chen Sha who was using ice ability could feel a chill down his spine. It was a hostile force that tinged his nerve and gave him goosebumps.
“Dragon Slap!”
Qin Feng had launched the attack!
Chen Sha did not hesitate and blasted his ice runes without reservation. All of sudden, he had turned into a giant ice sculpture.
Boom!
A loud noise was heard. The sculpture broke apart and dropped into the sea.
Splash!
Giant waves stirred up, resulting from the splash. Everyone could tell how great the brute force was to smash apart such a giant sculpture.
In the sky, the dark runes around Qin Feng had not dispersed. What was more daunting was the strength of the slap and the enormous internal energy flowing within him.
“Ancient warrior!” Wang Yangying exclaimed. But then he calmed down quickly and said in disbelief, “That’s odd. He is using dark runes at the same time. What’s wrong with this guy? Is it runic equipment? A god weapon? A rare armor?”
Before Wang Yangying could think it through, Qin Feng did not spare him any more time and dashed at him using extreme speed.
Earlier, Qin Feng was barely testing whether his fire ability would still be effective here in the middle of the ocean. When he decided to get serious, there was no way these people could stop him.
He was used to killing B-tiers back in Cinderclast City.
“Argh!” Wang Yangying yelled and rallied the seawater to enclose him entirely.
Qin Feng smirked and rammed straight through it.
Boom!
The loud noise was equally deafening as when the seawater was blown up. Qin Feng was like a human missile crashing into the sea. He was determined to claim Wang Yangying’s life.
Tsunami!
Wang Yangying realized that the seawater was unable to protect him so he decided to take Qin Feng head-on.
This was when Qin Feng suddenly vanished into thin air, again.
The dark runes covered his track flawlessly. No one knew where he had disappeared to.
“Sh*t! Yang Qian, save me!” Wang Yangying did not think twice and ran toward Yang Qian’s direction.
Yang Qian was equally shocked. He fended off Yu Yangtao and dashed to Wang Yangying to protect him.
Qin Feng appeared like a ghost and was immediately targeted by Yang Qian.
“Die!”
The harpoon in Yang Qian’s hand was aimed at Qin Feng. The gold radiance on the runic weapon coupled with his strong internal force could tear apart even the most ferocious beast.
This was Yang Qian’s secret ancient art.
It was too late for Qin Feng to evade now. Nevertheless, he had no intention of avoiding it.
A weapon appeared in Qin Feng’s hand. It was an ordinary weapon with golden runes on it. Qin Feng used only a small fraction of internal force and it resulted in a force that bent space.
Bam!
Their internal forces crashed into each other first.
The impact was so great that it even twisted the air in the surrounding. The two forces cancelled each other out and brought the two weapons closer and closer to each other.
Clank!
Qin Feng’s long sword finally met the opponent’s harpoon.
Crack!
The harpoon shattered and the sword pierced straight at Yang Qian’s internal force shield.
Poof!
The armor that looked impenetrable on Yang Qian promptly collapsed upon contact. Qin Feng’s long sword faced little resistance and stabbed right through Yang Qian’s body.
It penetrated accurately through his heart.
The ocean was stained red!

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
