Chapter 600: Superior Technology
Those kinds of knives were low level items that were used to assassinate weaker enemies, or take down opponents when they were weak.
Once someone had reached the C-tier, whether it was a gunner or an ability user, their consciousness was a powerful deterrent against remotely controlled objects.
“Hah, what’s this? Toys?” Diran let out a mocking laugh.
Quong Po was so angry that he could feel the blood in his body boil as it rushed to his head. He knew that this was a plot to get to him.
“If you think you can use your little tricks to take me down, then wouldn’t that mean that you’re underestimating me?” Quong Po sneered.
After that, he did not put away his throwing knives and held them in his hands as if they were daggers.
Diran’s expression became serious. Although Quong Po was famously known for his throwing knives, and concealable weapons had too many limitations, it did not mean he had no other skills.
As an ancient martial artist, no matter which martial style Quong Po was famous for, his internal force was unfathomably powerful.
Whoosh!
Quong Po’s figure disappeared at an extremely fast speed before moving close to Diran.
“Not good!”
Diran reacted quickly, runes bursting from all around him and surrounding himself with a thick earthen wall!
Diran was an earth ability user.
Quong Po’s knives were wrapped with internal force, striking the wall with enough power to make it sound like explosives were going off outside of it. Very quickly, he had managed to dig a massive hole through the wall.
“I’m going to kill you!”
Quong Po swung his weapons toward Diran’s neck.
In the blink of an eye, Diran’s body began to change and the parts of his neck that were struck instantly turned into yellowish sand.
Quong Po did not look surprised, as if he had expected this and turned his head to look elsewhere.
Earth ability users had the power to generate sand. If they had enough time to prepare, they could make a body double of themselves.

What they were best known for was their ability to move the earth.
They could hide underground and burst out at any time to fatally wound their enemies.
Quong Po was on full alert. At this moment, a row of missiles shrieked over his head.
His lips twisted into a snarl. He had no time to care about Diran, there were other enemies he had to deal with. However, Diran would not let Quong Po go so easily.
“Hehe, I may not be able to defeat you but I can hold you back. When the time comes, when your subordinates and all the reinforcements they call are all dead, how would you be able explain all that to Huaxia’s Human Alliance? If you let me kill you, then maybe we can get some value out of this?”
“Go to Hell!” Quong Po spat angrily.
He was helpless in his current situation, he could not get rid of Diran at all. This man was not just a C-tier, he was a C-tier prodigy!
This was someone who could defy all the odds.
Of course, Diran did not have enough power to take down Quong Po. All he needed to do was stall him. Once everyone that Quong Po was with had been killed, Quong Po would be a sitting duck.
Meanwhile, there was someone else who had been quietly approaching the battle.
It was Qin Feng!
He was hiding in the shadows, watching the battle between Quong Po and Diran. He knew that Quong Po had been ensnared by his opponent!
The situation did not seem too serious. Even if Quong Po had been tangled up, he was not in any immediate danger of dying.
Even if Qin Feng was not here, the Shinla Devils would still fail in their attempts, and so long as Quong Po’s alive, his daughter would still be rescued. As for how many aptitude users of the Huaxia Human Alliance had died during this battle, that was completely unknown.
That was the guilt that Quong Po carried. After all, it was him who caused this crisis.

And now, the real threat was in the sky above them.
Swish swish!
At least a dozen missiles were flying through the air and the gunners currently being bombarded were unable to turn their immediate attention to what was coming toward them!
“Huh, that’s pretty advanced tech they’ve got. I wonder how that compares to the current Fengli artillery!”
Qin Feng pulled out a hand cannon from his space.
The hand cannon was about one point five meters long and fifty centimeters in diameter. The back of the cannon was equipped with a device that charged it with energy!
Not only that, the cannon looked like something out of a dream. It was made out of a translucent material which revealed its internal workings and other bits of tech that comprised its insides. However, if one were to look closely, they would see that nothing seemed to make sense. It would have been difficult to reverse engineer this kind of weapon!
Qin Feng mounted the cannon onto his shoulder.
Clank!
He twisted the muzzle, causing it to change shape and split off into smaller cannon barrels. Up to six of them.
Hum!
Qin Feng held down the charge button and within a second, the muzzle began to fill up with a blue light.
“Go!”
He pressed the button again and six bolts of blue light shot into the sky.
It looked like a bunch of energy beams that shifted into a column of light. Without any other energy to propel it forward, it managed to chase after the missiles in the sky!
Energy in the form of light was extremely unstable. It was difficult to change its trajectory if it was not kept inside some kind of shell or casing. As such, a light beam that could be manipulated by the consciousness without extra help was a groundbreaking discovery.
The beam of light quickly streaked through the sky.
“What was that?”
In a distance, the gunners were taken aback by the sight of these six beams of light flying through the sky. It was something they had never seen before.
When they extended their consciousness to touch the beams of light, they were quickly pushed away by the violent force of the consciousness that controlled the beams.
Under Qin Feng’s control, these beams of light instantly hit the missiles.
Boom boom boom boom!
The missiles were shot down!
The gunner that tried to push back Qin Feng’s consciousness swore out loud, unable to accept what just happened, “Where the hell did that come from? I don’t believe one guy can stop so many of us!”
Qin Feng was late to take action, the Human Alliance members were trying to survive the heavy bombardment and had no way of retaliating. Now that he had made his move, that would have confused the Shinla Devils in the midst of chaos.
Just as the gunner had finished speaking, a terrible thundercloud appeared from the area that was previously their blast zone.
Kroom! Crack!
Suddenly, a terrifying storm formed in the sky and swept away all incoming artillery and zapped those that it could not brush away.
Dozens of shells were getting intercepted.
The Huaxia Human Alliance members were naturally attracted by this deafening noise but when they looked up, they only saw clouds of smoke.
“What happened?”
“Is someone helping us? Who?”
With their consciousness, they quickly identified Qin Feng to be the one who was helping them.
The guy actually came back!
At this moment, Jiang Po of the Huaxia Human Alliance looked at Qin Feng with astonishment.
Even though they were surprised, that did not mean that the Shinla Devils would just stop.
“Again!”
“Kill them all!”
“You still want to resist? I’ll blast you to pieces!”
Another round of missiles soared into the sky, but this time their angles were slightly adjusted to fly straight toward Qin Feng.
“Tch. These guys…”
Qin Feng did not use the energy cannon this time. Instead, he used his consciousness like it was a large net and locked onto the three incoming missiles.
“Reverse!”
In an instant, the consciousness originally guiding the shells was stopped!

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
