Chapter 594: Entourage

The Dusan Basin was an insanely huge place. Due to a severe lack of landmarks in the area, the place was roughly divided into many different regions, with each region given a number. And right now, there was a huge den of poisonous monsters appearing in the thirteenth region!

The Blight Butterflies!

These butterflies were not powerful creatures. However, the pollen that their wings carried with them was highly poisonous to other creatures. To add more, these pollens were also potent hallucinogens.

“This place is quite dangerous!” Many frowned after hearing where the place was.

“Yea, I don’t think I can handle this region too!”

“Just what kind of people are they recruiting for this task? No one can handle this place!”

As he watched everyone discussing the matter at hand, Quong Po’s face turned grimmer by the second. He did not want to waste too much time here—in fact, waiting for three minutes was already reaching the limits of his patience.

Thus, he announced, “I will tag along. But know this! I don’t want some wimps who only know to cower away in battle in this mission. I want proper men who can complete this mission with me! If you’re coming, you better be an ability user. Why do you think I’m offering so much money for this, huh?”

After hearing what he had to say, everyone finally understood why the rewards for this mission were so great.

“Heh, General Quong! Don’t you worry. I’m a wood-type ability user. Although I’m not too much of an outdoor fighter, I’m quite good at locating people.”

A man stepped out from the crowd and volunteered.

“That’s Yuan Xiaoguang! Hmm, this guy’s good!”

“Hey, maybe we should try out this mission too! There’s like 100 men here. So, there’s bound to be someone who we could work well together!”

“Yeah, let’s do it!”

As Yuan Xiaoguang joined in the party, the others started to tap on their communicator to join in the mission too.

Quong Po took a good look at Yuan Xiaoguang and said, “If we can find my daughter, I’ll double your rewards.”

Everyone was shocked after hearing this.

Quong Po’s daughter was missing?

Qin Feng frowned as he saw many’s interest was piqued in joining the party, seemingly not bothered by the dangers ahead.

The thirteenth region was a perilous place. Even Qin Feng himself did not want to step into that place for training. And Quong Po wanted to bring over one hundred C-tiers into that place? Who would be held responsible if anything went wrong?

Quong Po was too reckless!

Still, if he were to try to stop them, there was no way they would listen too! After all, Qin Feng was just one C-tier. There was very little one could do alone to change the course of action when the majority had made up their minds.

Thus, after giving it a thought, Qin Feng too decided to join in. Well, it would not hurt to do a good deed once in a while!

“Bai Li, you’re coming too!”

“Okay!” Bai Li quickly registered to join the mission too. As she finished fiddling with her communicator, three minutes had passed. Even though not all one hundred men had joined in the party, there were more than half of them joining—about seventy eight men.

“Let’s head out!” Quong Po did not wait any longer and led the party out of the lobby.

As they stepped into the plaza outside, the C-tiers summoned their transports one by one. In less than a minute, over seventy hover tanks appeared in the plaza. Then, they all tailed Quong Po’s hovercraft out of the city.

In just 20 minutes, they had arrived at Dusan Basin. Due to its unique geography, this place was filled with flora and fauna. Of course, other than the wide varieties of plants and trees, there were a lot of venomous insectoids too. Some of these insectoids’ hives even had poisonous cankers nearby too.

This place was indeed dangerous—even more dangerous than the swamps.

As the hover-tank parade flew through the huge grassland, something appeared to be spooked!

Whoosh!

A bright light beamed up from below and enveloped a hover tank.

Clank!!!

The hover tank’s energy barrier was penetrated by the green light, cutting the tank in half!

Creak… Booom!!!

The hover tank exploded in an instant as it dropped on the ground!

The hover tank behind it stopped, blocking the others behind.

Qin Feng was behind that hover tank too; so, naturally he saw that green light too.

It was a C2-tier insectoid—Emerald Praying Mantis.

This thing was about two-meter huge. Despite its small size, the mantis was quite powerful.

Even though these creatures did not live as a colony, they tended to congregate in the same habitat. When one of them had appeared, there was bound to be several others showing up too!

Meanwhile, the aptitude user in that exploded tank was thrown out into the air. Due to being a C-tier, his internal energy had formed a barrier and shielded him from the explosion, ensuring his survival.

However, as he was thrown off, several Emerald Praying Mantises hopped out from the bushes too. When they hid in the bushes, due to their green-colored body it was quite difficult to spot them. However, as they leaped out, their bodies were sparkling with green shines under the sun.

“What?!” That aptitude user was shocked and went into a panic.

Even though he was a C3-tier aptitude user, death was most likely inevitable when he was surrounded by five of these mantises.

“Tiger Leap!”

The aptitude user yelled out loudly as his internal energy burst wildly. In the last moment, he did a flip mid-air and evaded a fatal blow.

However, all he was able to evade was the first two attacks. There was a third slash coming his way…

As an Emerald Praying Mantis waved its blade toward him, all that awaited him was for his energy barrier to break and then… like his tank, he would be cut in half.

Booom!!!

Suddenly, extreme heat burst toward both of them. In an instant, a fiery energy beam pierced through the Emerald Praying Mantis’s head, burning everything above its neck.

Clank!

The scythe on the mantis’s arm still landed on the aptitude user’s body. Thankfully, due to its wavering momentum, the blade did not cut him open.

Pwooosh!! Boom! Boom! Boom! Booom!

Four fiery beams were shot rapidly, killing every single Emerald Praying Mantis that was trying to hunt down that aptitude user.

It was then, the others finally realized what just happened and started to fire their tank’s weaponry or their powers at the mantises. Some ancient warriors even hopped down from their tanks to do a quick reconnaissance.

Thus, the Emerald Praying Mantises, especially the first one that cut down the tank, were blown to pieces.

“Phew! Thanks, mate! You totally saved my life back there!” The aptitude user approached Qin Feng to thank him.

“You’re welcome. We’re teammates now. You’d do the same for me too.”

Qin Feng waved his hand at the aptitude user and leaped out from his hover tank to collect some Emerald Praying Mantises, throwing them into his pocket dimension.

It was then Quong Po too had gotten down from his hover tank too. After seeing the dead mantises, he took a careful look around. After seeing that no one had died from the encounter, Quong Po breathed in relief.

“We’re now in the outer areas of Dusan. But we haven’t reached the thirteenth region yet. Nonetheless, this place is still as dangerous as the other areas too. Come down from your vehicles. We’re hiking from here. With our speed, we can reach our destination in no time!”

“Yes, sir! Come on, guys! Listen to General Quong!” Jiang Po called out to everyone loudly.

Thus, Quong Po’s entourage got down from their hovercrafts. In an instant, over seventy C-tiers and D-tiers had grouped together.

It was like they said—the more people in a group, the more powerful and gutsy one would become.

After all, there were many C-tiers with them too. Not only that, there was also a B-tier leading them!

They feared nothing now!
