The Great Ruler Chapter 1469 – Got Hold of the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
The rainstorm covered the area around the Deification Pool, and there was dead silence. All the top powers looked at the water and were dumbfounded. Huang Xuanzhi had fallen into the water, and he was now feeble. Part of his body was crushed, and he had fainted due to the deadly blow.
The winner had finally emerged…
The outcome came as a surprise to most of the people present, but no one could deny the cruel fact. When the people looked at Huang Xuanzhi’s wretched appearance, they were at a loss for words.
Many top powers from the Divine Beast Clans muttered to themselves, “How can this be…” Their eyes were filled with horror and disbelief. After all, Huang Xuanzhi was well-known among the Divine Beast Clans, and he was a genius. All these years, many top powers had been beaten by him. He became very famous and was the center of attention. However, no one had expected the invincible Huang Xuanzhi to be defeated by a genius from the human world…
No matter how shocking it was, after seeing the powerful exchange of blows, they had to admit that Mu Chen was indeed mighty. No wonder he could turn the Budur Ancient Clan upside down…
The top powers of the Divine Beast Clans were excited, but over at the Phoenix Clan there was silence. Huang Jin had turned pale, and the elders of the Phoenix Clan standing behind him were dumbfounded. None of them could accept the outcome. All along, the top genius of their Phoenix Clan had been invincible. How could he possibly lose!?
One moment ago, they were still looking forward to seeing Huang Xuanzhi fend off Mu Chen’s deadly blow and attack him back. However, they had not expected Mu Chen’s blow to be so powerful that it had broken down all of Huang Xuanzhi’s defenses…
Compared to the silence over at the Phoenix Clan, Clan Leader Tianhuang was looking joyful. He was so excited that he shivered. Standing behind him was Elder Lu from the Nine Netherbird Clan. Elder Lu widened his eyes and swallowed hard. “Mu Chen is so powerful,” he muttered.
Mu Chen’s strength was only at the middle stage of the Spiritual Grade Heavenly Sovereign level, but he had defeated Huang Xuanzhi, who was at the initial stage of the God Grade Heavenly Sovereign level. If this piece of news were to get out, Mu Chen’s reputation would be brought up to another level. After all, Huang Xuanzhi carried more weight compared to the elders of the Budur Ancient Clan.
“It is Nine Nether’s fortune to know Mu Chen!” Clan Leader Tianhuang exclaimed. He thought of how they had objected to the bloodline bond between Nine Nether and Mu Chen back then, and how they had thought that Mu Chen would pull Nine Nether down. However, they had never expected that not only would Mu Chen not become a burden to Nine Nether, but on the contrary, he had become someone whom Nine Nether and the Nine Netherbird Clan could depend on.

After this fight, the Nine Netherbird Clan’s status would rise among the Divine Beast Clans, and those who had looked down on them previously would no longer do so, thanks to Mu Chen.
…
As the top powers outside the Deification Pool were in a state of shock, Mu Chen was still at the bottom of the sea. He let out a long breath as the pagoda turned into a streamer and entered his head. His transparent spiritual body gradually disappeared, and his body became flesh and blood again.
This guy has lived up to his name as the top genius of the Phoenix Clan, Mu Chen muttered to himself as he looked at Huang Xuanzhi’s wretched body. After exchanging blows with Huang Xuanzhi, Mu Chen found him to be a tough opponent. He had had to activate two Rare Super Powers, his Qi into Trinity and the Eight Budur, in order to defeat him.
Although Huang Xuanzhi was detestable, he had indeed lived up to his name as the top genius of the Phoenix Clan. So far, Mu Chen had not met anyone who was as powerful as he was. However, the one who had had the last laugh was not Huang Xuanzhi…
Mu Chen waved his sleeve, and three rays of red light landed on his hand. Apparently, they were the 60 percent Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets that Huang Xuanzhi had snatched away from Kong Ling’Er and the other two.
I have finally gotten my hands on them. As Mu Chen looked at the three blood pellets, he could not help breaking into a smile. With these three blood pellets, he was confident about further evolving the real dragon and real phoenix that were in his body.
Swoosh!
Just as Mu Chen was about to put the three blood pellets away, golden light suddenly burst out from Huang Xuanzhi’s body and covered Huang Xuanzhi up. It then turned into a streamer and shot out of the Deification Pool.
When Mu Chen saw it, he did not stop it. He knew that Huang Xuanzhi did not have the audacity to kill him, and likewise, Mu Chen was unable to kill him. Both of them had a Divine Heavenly Sovereign to back them up. Their fight had been according to the rules. If they were to show no regard for each other, this matter would be blown out of proportion. At this moment, Mu Chen still did not have the ability to contend with a Divine Heavenly Sovereign, and he did not want to create unnecessary trouble for his mother.
Huang Xuanzhi was tough to deal with, but Mu Chen was not afraid of him. After today’s fight, Huang Xuanzhi would need a long period of time to recuperate. By the time he recovered, Mu Chen might have already stepped into the God Grade Heavenly Sovereign level, and he would have no problem defeating Huang Xuanzhi.
When Huang Xuanzhi shot out of the Deification Pool, Nine Nether turned into a streamer and shot over to Mu Chen. When she appeared beside Mu Chen, she looked at him in astonishment. “You are so powerful. You have managed to defeat Huang Xuanzhi…” Nine Nether bit her lips and looked happily at Mu Chen.

Apparently, she was surprised by the outcome. Although she had faith in Mu Chen from the beginning, she had thought that even if Mu Chen did not manage to defeat Huang Xuanzhi, he would have the ability to bring her out this place. However, Mu Chen did not have the intention of taking her away, and the method that he had used was crisp. He had defeated Huang Xuanzhi and made him give up the thought of getting his hands on Nine Nether’s bloodline.
“I had a good harvest,” Mu Chen said with a smile as he tossed the three blood pellets in the air. Having said that, he suddenly glanced at Kong Ling’Er and the other two who were coming toward him. They were looking at the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets in Mu Chen’s hand. They finally came back to themselves after seeing that Huang Xuanzhi had been defeated and suddenly thought of the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets.
“Brother Mu…” Kong Ling’Er smiled charmingly and looked affectionately at Mu Chen.
“Hohoho, I am making a move. If we are fated, we will meet again.” Mu Chen did not give her a chance to speak. He simply smiled and took Nine Nether by the hand and shot out of the Deification Pool in a streamer.
He knew what Kong Ling’Er and the other two were thinking. They were too naïve to think that they could ask Mu Chen for their Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets. Those were his spoils. When Kong Ling’Er and her company had approached him earlier to collaborate with him, they were only thinking of using him to deal with Huang Xuanzhi. Since they were only trying to make use of him, Mu Chen would not be kind to them.
The smile on Kong Ling’Er’s face froze, and she was furious when she saw that Mu Chen had left. Kong Ling’Er, Ling Cang, and Xiao Tian gritted their teeth and looked disgruntled. However, they dared not stop Mu Chen and snatch the blood pellets from him. Huang Xuanzhi had been defeated by Mu Chen, and if they were to fight him, they would be courting their own death.
The three of them looked at one another dejectedly, full of regrets. If they had known that Mu Chen was so powerful that even Huang Xuanzhi was no match for him, they would not have plotted against him. They would have stuck around with Mu Chen, and Huang Xuanzhi would not have had the opportunity to snatch the blood pellets away from them. However, there was no point in brooding over their losses now. They were destined to go back empty-handed from this trip…
…
Splash!
The surface of the Deification Pool broke, and two figures shot up as the top powers looked on in astonishment. The moment Mu Chen came out of the Deification Pool, he sensed that something was amiss. The people looked at him with fear in their eyes, and when Mu Chen looked at them, they avoided making eye contact with him. They treated Mu Chen as though he were a demon, and that made him speechless.
Mu Chen shook his head and could not be bothered with them. He brought Nine Nether to Clan Leader Tianhuang and said with a smile, “I have completed my mission. I have brought Nine Nether back in one piece.”
Clan Leader Tianhuang was touched and smiled. He patted Mu Chen on the shoulder and said solemnly, “Mu Chen, you are our clan’s benefactor. I thank you on behalf of our Nine Netherbird Clan.”
When Mu Chen saw that Clan Leader Tianhuang was about to perform the formal bow to thank him, he quickly stopped him and said, “Elder, please do not say this. If Nine Nether had not protected me back then, I would not be what I am today. What I have done is nothing.”
Clan Leader Tianhuang looked pleased and smiled. He then said in embarrassment, “Nine Nether indeed has better foresight than us.”
Mu Chen smiled and said, “Since the Deification Pool has come to an end, let’s leave this place.” Mu Chen felt uncomfortable with the way the top powers were looking at him, and he wanted to leave. Moreover, he had already gotten hold of the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets.
A voice snorted from behind Mu Chen the moment he mentioned leaving. “Ha. Are you thinking of leaving? Not yet! Leave the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets behind!”
Mu Chen squinted and turned around. He looked at the elder of the Phoenix Clan and asked flatly, “Is this the decision of your Phoenix Clan?”
The Phoenix Clan elder looked sharply at Mu Chen and was about to speak, but Huang Jin stopped him and said, “Keep your mouth shut!”
The elder could only shut his mouth as he sensed that the top powers from the various Divine Beast Clans were looking derisively at him. In the world of the divine beasts, the masters called the shots. Huang Xuanzhi had been defeated by Mu Chen, thus the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets naturally became Mu Chen’s spoils. The Phoenix Clan would be demeaning themselves if they were to oppress Mu Chen with their power.
Fortunately, Huang Jin did not lose his cool. He immediately stopped the elder and looked grimly at Mu Chen and said, “Our Phoenix Clan is not a sore loser. Since you have defeated Xuanzhi, our Phoenix Clan admits defeat.”
Mu Chen was surprised by what Huang Jin had said, and he glanced at him and laughed. If he did not have his mother to back him up, Huang Jin might not be so gracious to let him off.
Mu Chen could not be bothered to talk to them. He cupped his fist and turned into a streamer and left. Nine Nether and Clan Leader Tianhuang quickly caught up with him.
Mu Chen’s immediate task was to refine and absorb the Quasi-Holy Blood Pellets. He had a premonition that the Spirits of the Real Dragon and Real Phoenix would be able to transform through this opportunity. He was looking forward to seeing it happen.
As the top powers of the Divine Beast Clans saw Mu Chen departing, they sighed. They knew that after this day, Mu Chen would be even more well-known in the Great Thousand World…

Blue Hills
Nothing had ever felt quite right for Alexander Adamson. He'd worked his way up to a job he could tolerate, a few casual friends, and even a nice little apartment that he could call his own, though it really wasn't. The problem was that none of it was satisfying. It was as though he were going through the motions of a life, rather than having one of his own. Of course, it didn't exactly feel right when he woke up in a strange bed in the middle of nowhere. Nor when he was told that he was now the proud owner and operator of a local farm. A farm that had belonged to a late uncle he'd never known. But with the first train out of town a full 'season' away, he had plenty of time to get used to the idea. Plenty of time, perhaps, to even get to like the strange little town of Blue Hills. I have a discord now. Marvel at my ability to somehow still be antisocial on the other side of a screen! Back from hiatus along with my other fiction. Chapters are on a Thurs/Sun schedule until book 3 of that fiction is completed, at which point I'll be updating this daily. At which point uh.... I dunno what I'm going to do.
