The Great Ruler Chapter 1382 – A Request
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
The crystal pagoda hung quietly above the large city-state with a halo circling above it. The halo exuded a mysterious power. Both the indigenous people and the top powers in the sky from the Fiend Blood Tribe fixed their gazes on the crystal pagoda. They knew that their destiny depended on the one who made it out alive. The one who came out would be the winner.
There was dead silence in the entire area, and there was tension all over. No one dared to open his mouth to say a word.
The higher echelons, who were standing outside the main hall, broke out into a cold sweat. After a long while, they quivered and looked at the queen, who was beside them, and asked softly, “Your Majesty, do you think that the deity will win?”
They had pinned all their hopes on the deity. If he was defeated, there would be bloodshed in the city, and many people would be killed. Even the higher echelons might be killed by the Blood Demon Lord as well.
The elegant queen fixed her gaze on the crystal pagoda. She looked more calm than the rest. She said softly, “Did we not prepare ourselves for the worst to happen? Is there anything worse than carrying on living like beasts?”
When the higher echelons heard what she had said, they nodded in agreement. Instead of living in such a demeaning manner, they might as well be killed. At the least they could still have some dignity.
Buzz!
As they were talking, the crystal pagoda that had been hanging in the air for some time suddenly shook, and everyone in the area stared hard at it. The queen bit her lips, and her hands started to tremble. She was feeling apprehensive. Although they had prepared themselves for the worst, at least they could see a glimpse of hope.
Swoosh!
As the people looked on anxiously, a streamer darted out from the crystal pagoda. It lingered in the sky and turned into a slender figure.
“It is the deity!” When the indigenous people of the city-state saw the figure that had appeared, they shouted out in joy. Many of them were so happy that they started to burst out into tears. Some of them even kneeled down and bowed frantically at the figure.
Mu Chen looked at the indigenous people seething with excitement and smiled. He lifted up his hand, and a red photosphere appeared. Inside the photosphere was the face of the ferocious Blood Demon Lord. With this, everyone could tell who had emerged as the winner.
“The deity… has won!” The higher echelons looked at the scene that was before them and were in a daze. They then sat on the floor and stared blankly at the photosphere. No one had expected the Blood Demon Lord, who was almost like a Demonic God to them, to be defeated this day!

The queen, who was standing in front of the higher echelons, looked at Mu Chen in amazement. Tears started to gather in her eyes, and they flowed down on her fair cheeks. She had waited for this day for so long! She had worked so hard just to see this day!
Although she had done all that she could to help this world that was almost on the brink of destruction obtain this haven, she knew that this was only temporary. Their haven could turn into hell any time the Fiend Blood Tribe decided to put an end to it.
She had been living in fear almost every day and every night. However, she could not show her fear to the people, as she knew that she was their pillar. The moment that she fell apart, this haven would collapse as well.
However, this day, the Blood Demon Lord that had appeared invincible to her had been defeated. She suddenly felt that she no longer needed to hang on, and she showed her weaker side, allowing her tears to flow. She finally found hope in a world that was filled with despair.
The indigenous people of the city-state were filled with joy. Conversely, the top powers from the Fiend Blood Tribe were frightened out of their wits. They had never expected their Blood Demon Lord to be defeated.
“Let’s run for our lives. We must tell the other Blood Demon Lords about this!” They looked at one another, and in the next instant, they shot out at the same time and fled in desperation. They wanted to run away from this terrifying youth.
There was suddenly chaos in the sky. All the top powers from the Fiend Blood Tribe suddenly behaved like homeless curs, running around wildly.
Mu Chen looked coldly at the top powers from the Fiend Blood Tribe who were trying to escape. He moved his body and shot up into the sky. The huge Immortal Golden Body appeared behind him, and purple golden light rose up and turned into several large Violet Spears. They then shot out all over the area.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
The large Violet Spears rained down from the heavens like a storm. Every spear that shot out pierced through one Blood Shadow, and the whole area was filled with heart-rending cries. The top powers from the Fiend Blood Tribe fell down from the sky one after another like birds with broken wings…
After a few minutes, the whole area quieted down. Mu Chen had totally wiped out all the top powers from the Fiend Blood Tribe.
Mu Chen had found out from the queen earlier that there were a few Blood Demon Lords in the Fiend Blood Tribe who possessed strength that was near to Heavenly Sovereign-level. If Mu Chen were to take them on one at a time, he had absolute confidence in defeating them. However, once they started to join forces, Mu Chen would not have much of an advantage over them. Thus, he did not want the news to leak out to the rest of the Blood Demon Lords. He had to wipe them out.

The indigenous people of the city swallowed hard, and when they saw that the top powers from the Fiend Blood Tribe had been killed, they looked at Mu Chen with great respect.
Mu Chen waved his sleeve in the sky, and the crystal pagoda turned into a streamer and shot back into his eyes. He then put away the photosphere that had the Blood Demon Lord trapped in it and turned to move toward the main hall.
When Mu Chen landed in the main hall, all of the higher echelons went down on their knees to bow to him, showing great respect for him. Even the queen kneeled down and bowed respectfully to Mu Chen. She said in a clear voice, “Bai Susu shows respect to the deity.”
When Mu Chen saw it, he simply smiled and said, “I am not a deity.” Having said that, he looked at the advisors who had gathered together and saw that they were trembling in fear. They had managed to get the Grand Advisor out of the stone pillar, and he was standing beside them. All of them looked at Mu Chen with great fear.
Bai Susu noticed Mu Chen looking at them, and she looked coldly at the advisors and said, “Kill these people lest they become an eyesore to the deity.”
Swoosh!
The moment she said this, several figures around her dashed out toward the advisors. After a fierce fight, the advisors died on the spot, and even the Grand Advisor, who had been seriously injured by Mu Chen, had no more strength to run away. He was beaten up badly by a group of indigenous people and died a terrible death.
From the look of it, the indigenous people hated the advisors to the core.
When Mu Chen saw it, he was shocked. He glanced at Bai Susu, and he was taken aback by her decisiveness. With a smile, he asked, “Are you doing this to prove your allegiance to me?”
What Bai Susu had done showed that she had decided to make a clean break with the Fiend Blood Tribe.
A smile that was rarely seen appeared on Bai Susu’s face, and as she looked at Mu Chen, she said softly, “I trusted you from the beginning.”
Mu Chen smiled and said, “I have come to your world with a purpose. Now, I need to have all the information about the Fiend Blood Tribe.”
“Deity, please follow me. I will tell you all that I know about them,” Bai Susu said respectfully. She then stood up and led the way, signaling to the rest of the echelons not to follow them.
Mu Chen was fine with it, and he caught up with her. They went past a corridor and came to an inner hall.
“Deity, please take a seat.” After leading Mu Chen to a seat, Bai Susu served him tea, and she behaved respectfully and humbly toward him.
Mu Chen did not stand on ceremony with her. He took the cup and said, “Can you tell me about the Fiend Blood Tribe now?”
Bai Susu stood before Mu Chen, and she looked so submissive that she no longer exuded the authority of a queen. She bit her lips and asked softly, “Deity, can I make a request?”
“Request?” Mu Chen raised his brows.
Bai Susu gritted her teeth and asked, “Can a deity teach us how to defend against the Fiend Blood Tribe?”
The power that Mu Chen had displayed was mighty and was a level beyond their reach. However, if they could learn some skills from Mu Chen, it would help them greatly in enhancing their strength. In that case, they would not be so helpless and desperate when they came across the Fiend Blood Tribe again.
Mu Chen was stunned, and he waved his hand. He took a sip from the cup and said, “You are unable to possess the same power that I have.”
He was as powerful as the spiritual energy he had cultivated. This power was unique to the Great Thousand World, and it was impossible for the people from the Lower Planes to cultivate it.
When Bai Susu heard it, she thought that Mu Chen was unwilling to teach them. Her face became pale, and she kneeled down, begging him, saying, “Deity, please save us!”
Having said that, she gritted her teeth and removed her crown. She held the girdle around her waist and pulled it gently. Her beautiful robe fell down from her body, revealing her fair skin. She shivered and looked like a lamb that had been sheared.
She knelt down before Mu Chen with her long hair flowing. The smooth complexion on her back and her behind made her look voluptuous. “Lord, if you will teach us how to be more powerful, I am willing to be your slave. Please help us!”
The girl, who was before Mu Chen, was trembling, and her voice sounded so pitiful that it was heartbreaking.
Poof!
Mu Chen, who was sitting on the chair, was taken by surprise by what the queen had done. In the next instant, he spurted out the tea that was in his mouth.

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
