The Great Ruler Chapter 1273 – Long Xiang
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Heavy footsteps resounded in the green bamboo grove. The ground shook with every step, as if it could not take the weight.
Surprisingly, the person with such a heavy footstep was not a heavy person, but a skinny middle-aged man dressed in a black shirt. The man came before the stone tower, and when he saw the elder robed in gray, he stopped and asked, “Elder Gu, how can I help?”
Elder Gu looked at the middle-aged man and said with a smile, “Congratulations, Long Xiang, you have successfully stepped into Complete Earthly Sovereign.”
The middle-aged man had an imposing aura and he seemed to be carrying several mountains upon him. Every move he made came with an intense power that shook the space.
“I am just a Half-Step to Complete Earthly Sovereign,” the middle-aged man named Long Xiang said flatly.
Elder Gu smiled and said, “Given your talent, it is just a matter of time before you step into Complete Earthly Sovereign.” Long Xiang agreed, as he had confidence in his doing so in no time.
“Elder Gu, is there any problem?” he asked again, not wanting to dwell on the subject.
Elder Gu nodded with a smile and said, “I have a task for you. Go and get this Lower Earthly Sovereign for me.”
As Elder Gu flicked his fingers, a spiritual light appeared before him. A tall youth then appeared in the screen. It was none other than Mu Chen!
Long Xiang frowned and asked, “He is just a Lower Earthly Sovereign, so why are you asking me to do this?”
“Hohoho, he is not an ordinary Lower Earthly Sovereign. Although he is only a Lower Earthly Sovereign, he has won the position of the Child of the Continent at the Battlefield of the Upper Earthly Sovereigns. Even the Direct Disciple of the West Heaven War Emperor is no match for him. This guy is powerful,” Elder Gu said with a smile.
He then added, “I don’t think any Upper Earthly Sovereign can deal with him, so I need your help.”
When Long Xiang heard this, he squinted his eyes. He then nodded and said, “He is indeed amazing.”
Although he was from the Budur Ancient Clan, he was impressed that a Lower Earthly Sovereign could have such amazing results. Even the cream of the crop among the younger generation in the Budur Ancient Clan could not achieve such results.

“Who is he? Why do you want to capture him?” Long Xiang asked Elder Gu.
When Elder Gu heard his questions, he smiled and replied, “This is the order of the First Elder.”
Long Xiang squinted his eyes as he recalled something. He then looked at Elder Gu and asked for confirmation, “This is the guy on the Wanted List?”
“Yes, he is the perpetrator,” Elder Gu said flatly.
Boom!
At that moment, a horrifying power burst out from Long Xiang’s body and his eyes turned cold. The cries of the dragon and elephant resounded from his body and a terrifying aura swirled toward Elder Gu.
Roar!
Elder Gu looked sharply at Long Xiang’s aura, while a golden light gathered behind him. It then turned into a golden lion, and as the lion roared, the heavens and the earth quaked, smashing the terrifying oppression into pieces.
When the two of them exchanged blows, Long Xiang moved half a step backward and Elder Gu’s body shook. Elder Gu frowned. Although Long Xiang was only at Half Step to Complete Earthly Sovereign, he possessed a supernatural strength and had cultivated the Dragon-Elephant Subdue God Art. As such, he was extremely powerful, and even if Elder Gu managed to defeat him, he would have to pay a high price.
“Long Xiang, are you defying the order?” Elder Gu stared at Long Xiang with authority. He looked fierce, like a lion king.
Long Xiang looked back at him fiercely, then after a long while, he withdrew his aura and said coldly, “He is Young Mistress’ son, not a perpetrator. Lion King Gu, you’d better watch your words!”
“Ha, although Qing Yanjing used to be your Young Mistress, she was convicted for violating our rules. She has tainted our royal bloodline, and this is unpardonable!” Elder Gu said. “If you have a problem, go talk to the elders. If they change their minds, I will not say such words to her son.”
Long Xiang looked grim and sneered. “I can’t be bothered with you. I am not going!”
Elder Gu looked down and said, “The Spiritual Jade Bamboos are about to ripen, so I have to be here. If you are not going, I will have to report to the clan. I do not know who the First Elder will send…”

“Long Xiang, we just want to capture this chap. If you do it, you can still make sure that no harm comes to him. If the First Elder gets angry and sends an elder over, I can’t guarantee what will happen to him,” Elder Gu warned.
Long Xiang stared at Elder Gu, light glittering in his eyes. After a while, he sighed and said, “Alright, I’ll go!”
If he took the task, he would not harm his Young Mistress’ son. However, if the clan sent someone who was at loggerheads with his Young Mistress, the situation would most definitely be stacked against her son.
When Elder Gu heard this, he smiled and said, “It is great that you have figured it all out.”
Having said that, he suddenly paused and said with a smile, “Long Xiang, I hope you don’t come back empty-handed. If this happens, I will hand the deviant girl over to the clan and let them deal with her. I don’t think she could take that torture…”
Long Xiang’s expression changed, and he stared at Elder Gu and said, “Lion King Gu, I suggest that you don’t go overboard. Although Young Mistress has been imprisoned, you should know her character. Even the First Elder can do nothing to her. If you agitate her, no one can protect you. After all, to Young Mistress, you are just an old coot that she can kill at any time!”
When Elder Gu heard the harsh words that had just been spoken by Long Xiang, he became angry and sneered. “Ha, I don’t believe that she could behave so recklessly in the clan!”
Although Elder Gu had made such a remark, he did not sound as sharp as he had before. This was because he knew that a Heavenly Sovereign had many means to deal with him.
Long Xiang glanced at him briefly, then walked off without saying another word. Elder Gu looked grimly at Long Xiang and gritted his teeth.
He then said in a deep voice, “I will let you be for the time being. However, when Young Master becomes the Clan Leader, we will control the entire Budur Ancient Clan. We will not be so indecisive like the First Elder. When we have caught the perpetrator, Qing Yanjing will have to do our bidding!”
…
Long Xiang left the stone tower and went deep into the bamboo grove. He then came to a black tower and went inside it.
The place was quiet and dark. There was a black prison deep within the tower. The prison was made out of a black rock, which had spiritual light shimmering on it. The light formed an array, sealing the prison up.
As Long Xiang stood outside the prison, he saw a lady in white. She was sitting cross-legged inside the prison.
The lady looked cold and had long hair. She had almond-shaped eyes and long shapely eyebrows. She looked intellectual and composed, even in such a situation.
If Mu Chen was here and saw this lady, he would have been shocked. She was Ling Xi, whom he had lost touch with after they parted at the Northern Heaven Spiritual Academy!
Long Xiang looked at the lady in the prison and smiled. He felt that the lady possessed the demeanor of his Master.
Ling Xi lifted up her head and smiled when she saw Long Xiang. She called out, “Brother Long Xiang.”
Long Xiang smiled wryly at her and said with a sigh, “Why did you come back here? You know that this is the Estate of the Budur Ancient Clan and that the Complete Sovereigns are guarding this place…”
Back in the time that he was referring to, Ling Xi had barged into the Spiritual Jade Island and had been imprisoned by Lion King Gu for three years.
When Ling Xi heard his words, she curled up her lips and smiled. She looked at the black shiny ground and said, “I came because Aunt Jing was here for a while.”
When Long Xiang heard her reply, he rolled his eyes and sighed.
“Brother Long Xiang, why are you here?” Ling Xi asked with a smile.
After hesitating for a while, he said, “We have news of your child.”
Ling Xi lifted up her head. After being emotionless for years, she suddenly looked elated.
Mu Chen…Finally, I have news about you…
She lowered her head and smiled.

Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.
