The Great Ruler Chapter 973 – Blood Spirit Soil
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
It was a land of darkness, which made one feel ultimately repressed and heavy.
Zoom!
The gloomy silence, which had lasted for quite some time, was finally broken all of a sudden. Waves then crashed through the void, bursting out like a streamer into the dark space.
Four shades of shadows emerged, standing high up in this space, as surges of spiritual energy enfolded their bodies. After they observed their surroundings vigilantly for a few moments, they tuned down the Spiritual Light that was around their bodies.
As their Spiritual Energy gradually dimmed, their silhouettes slowly became more apparent. It was none other than Nine Nether, Mu Chen, Mo Feng and Mo Ling!
“So, this is the Land of the Divine Beasts?” Mu Chen looked into the space, startled. Everywhere his vision could reach was filled with darkness, it was not even close to being the Land of Divine Beasts that others had described.
“This is the void where the Land of Divine Beasts is placed within,” replied Nine Nether, as she looked around solemnly. Then, gazing far away, she muttered deeply, “In a void like this, spiritual energies can be destroyed by the darkness. As such, if we’re exposed to this void for too long, our own spiritual energies will also be broken down and destroyed. In the end, we will fall and be unable to leave this place.”
As soon as Mu Chen heard this, he was appalled. He quickly sensed that the spiritual energy being emitted from his body was already being broken down, albeit at an extremely slow speed.
The most fearsome part was that there seemed to be no way of directly absorbing spiritual energy in this void. Thus, the energy in one’s body was hard to replenish.
“At this rate, before we even find the Land of the Divine Beasts, all of our spiritual energies might have already been utterly exhausted.”
Mu Chen frowned. Although he was taken aback by the strangeness of this void, he refused to be too alarmed. Since the Nine Netherbird Clan had an understanding of this place, he presumed that they were prepared for it.
As expected, Mo Ling, who stood at his side, chuckled and replied, “Big Brother Mu Chen, don’t you worry. We’re just waiting for our steed. Soon, we’ll be sprinting past this void, reaching the Land of Divine Beasts.”
“Steed?”
Mu Chen was dazed and confusion arose within him.
In this land, where there is hardly any existence of life, what kind of steed are they talking about?
But, even though he was confused, Mu Chen did not question them further.
I will just follow whatever they decide.
Thinking this way, he then calmed himself down and waited silently. His wait did not last too long.

He flinched, then suddenly looked to his left, only to see ripples unfolding in the darkness. In the next moment, he saw a boulder, almost as wide as a hundred feet, silently sweeping across the darkness. It was charging in their direction, like a speeding meteorite!
“This is our steed…” Nine Nether grinned at Mu Chen. “We’ll be transported on this. Now, we’ll be able to find the Land of the Divine Beasts floating within this void.”
Mu Chen mouth gaped open, then he finally shared a wry smile. Who would have thought that looking for the Land of Divine Beasts would require such an exceptional method! He was lucky to have someone leading him, because those who intruded randomly would most certainly just wither and die here in this void!
“We must mount it on this boulder, or else we’ll have to wait for the second one, which won’t appear for at least a half a day, maybe even one or two days!” Nine Nether reminded them carefully.
Mu Chen was shocked, then nodded quickly. If they waited a couple of days, their spiritual energy would have almost completely decomposed! If any difficulties arose on top of this, they would really risk the fate of being lost forever in this place!
As they spoke, the boulder whizzed through, rapidly approaching in front of them. It was at that moment that the four impetuously projected themselves forward, landing steadily on the boulder. By surging their spiritual energy, they mounted effortlessly on the surface of the boulder.
Zoom.
The boulder quivered a little, then drifted past the dark void, charging ahead into a land far away. Upon landing on the boulder, Mu Chen realized that the enormous stone seemed to radiate with an exceptional force field. The force field was shielding them from all of the decomposing energy within the void!
Regarding this encounter, Mu Chen was only able to admire it silently. When he looked at Nine Nether and the others, he was startled. This was because, after the other three landed on the boulder, they had quickly spread out, eagerly searching every inch of the boulder.
Mu Chen was baffled by their actions, but did not say another word to disturb them. After a while, Mo Ling squealed with joy. As she cupped her tiny hands, one could see that the ground sparkled with bursts of blood rays. As the last blood ray escaped the ground, it landed on Mo Ling’s petite hand. Meanwhile, Nine Nether and Mo Feng returned empty-handed.
“What is this thing?” Glancing at Mo Ling, who was beaming in contentment, Mu Chen could not resist asking.
Mo Ling giggled and spread open her palms. Within a glimmering ray of blood, there lay a piece of soil that was as large as a fist. It was a shade of bright red, as if had been stained by blood. It even seemed to exude a vile pungent smell of blood.

As soon as Mu Chen came in contact with the odor, he felt that the vital energy and blood within his body had suddenly culminated. There was a surge of a mystery sensation that rushed through his mind, making him feeling an overwhelming desire to swallow this very piece of soil!
“This is the Blood Spirit Soil! Legend has it that in the ancient times, the mighty people of the Land of Divine Beasts envisioned plans of forming extraterritorial races. Before the extermination came, they conducted a self-destruction using their bodies, in hopes to stop it. Hence, within this Blood Spirit Soil, there remains a trace of blood essence of the these mighty people. This soil is edible, and after one consumes it, it shall greatly benefit the physical body. In the outside world, one who’s a master of alchemy could even refine this Blood Spirit Soil into Blood Spiritual Pills, which would be able to rebirth one’s physical body!” Gazing at Mu Chen’s stunned expression, Nine Nether explained thoroughly.
Mo Ling held the clay, then broke it up into four smaller pieces. She then handed a piece to Mo Feng, and gave the other two to Mu Chen and Nine Nether, so that the entire group each had one piece.
“Thank you, Little Ling.” Nine Nether grinned, as she accepted Mo Ling’s well-intentioned offering.
Mu Chen was not too familiar with Mo Ling, so he felt a little embarrassed. But, at the same time, he did not want to make a fuss. As he took the soil, his impressions of the girl improved immediately.
The piece of clay Mu Chen had was only as big as his thumb. Mu Chen followed after Nine Nether and the others, forming the soil into a pellet by rubbing it with his fingers. He then tossed it into his mouth.
Boom!
As he ate the pellet of blood spiritual clay, Mu Chen instantly sensed a burst of vital energy and blood exploding in his mouth. A scorching stream of heat flowed within in him, melting through his whole body within split seconds. The blazing sensation had left Mu Chen’s face glowing red.
The blaze lasted for only a few minutes, followed by an indescribable feeling of alleviation, which permeated his whole body, so much that he could not help but let out a loud breath. When the heat completely faded away, Mu Chen regained his senses.
Immediately, he felt taken aback for a moment. This was because he was able to detect that his physical body was as if it was being enhanced with a hint of power! Although the enhancement was not too obvious, Mu Chen was very certain of it. Ever since he had achieved the Dragon-Phoenix body state, his physique had quite never felt any boost for a long time.
However, after consuming the Blood Spirit Soil, Mu Chen felt his body, which had been still for a long time, was now granted with a trace of power. This surprised Mu Chen greatly! This Blood Spirit Soil was completely divine to the physical body!
Beside him, witnessing Mu Chen’s surprised expression, Nine Nether grinned and said, “You should know that the piece of blood spiritual clay that you’ve just swallowed, if it were to be marketed, its price would at least cost more than a hundred thousand units of sovereign spiritual liquid!”
Mo Feng glanced over at Mu Chen, then solemnly added, “When we came to the Land of Divine Beasts, the Blood Spirit Soil was one of the things that we specifically sought. However, this soil is hard to acquire, even in this land, and when it is found, it is usually only available in small sizes. If it wasn’t for Mo Ling’s good luck, we wouldn’t even be able to share it among the four of us.”
Mu Chen nodded, then turned to Mo Ling again with thanks. He could not resist licking his mouth, as there was an increased yearning for the soil in his heart. If he could just get ahold of more Blood Spirit Soil, then perhaps his physical body could be significantly enhanced. This would be a huge help in his breaking through to the second level of the Dragon-Phoenix body state.
“Later on, if we’ve gotten closer to the Land of Divine Beasts, there will be boulders larger than the one we’re stepping on now. Then, if we’re lucky enough, we might be able to get more clay.” As if she knew Mu Chen’s inner desire, Nine Nether spoke the words calmly.
As soon as her voice faded, Nine Nether, Mo Feng, and Mo Ling sat down crossed-legged. Without another word, they then allowed the boulder to continue transporting them. They swiftly drifted through the void of darkness, straight into its very depths.
Mu Chen also sat beside them cross-legged, not intending to break the quiet atmosphere. His glittering eyes stared straight into the distance, waiting for another boulder to appear.
It was at this moment, after experiencing the satisfaction of arriving at the Land of Divine Beasts, Mu Chen felt more hopeful for this journey. Before reaching the Land of Divine Beasts, they had already found an item as divine as the Blood Spirit Soul! It was unimaginable what treasures would be waiting for them after they reached their destination! Upon that thought, Mu Chen could not help but look forward to their journey.

The short version of why I dropped it is because even the shortest form of my outlining resulted in a main plot of at least 300 - 400 chapters and I messed up massively by directly adapting it from my first attempt at this, which was a choose your own adventure on another website. It did not make the jump well at all imo.

The Apocalypse Show - Dungeon Core
There were lot's of ways that people had predicted that the world would end. A few even had it partially correct. But how could they have predicted it would be a combination of the system apocalypse and aliens. Specifially aliens that wanted to create the equivlant of a TV show about the system apocalypse on Earth. Arthur woke up with a headache and the option to create a character. Most people would have gone with the safe choice and selected to stay a human. Arthur suspected that wouldn't be the safe choice in his new world. Instead he decided to see what other races were available. Eventually he decided to become a dungeon core instead. Of course being a dungeon core comes with a number of challenges. Starting with the fact that he was a giant crystal instead of having a body, managing a bunch of unintelligent minons, and most importantly the reaction of his human neighbors when they discover him. If he can overcome these challenges he may be able to enjoy some of the benefits. Such as the fact that dungeon cores are immortal and he would eventually have an entire army of dungeon minions that would obey any of his commands. Perhaps even find some female companions that are looking for a safe place during the apocalypse. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, nudity, and sexual content. This isn't something you would find in the young adult section. This does not mean that this would be rated NC-17 or X, if that is what you are looking for try lewd dungeon.

My Good Friend Murphy
***Disclaimer*** I wrote and am writing this purely for my own amusement. That means that this could have major revisions done to it sporadically, it has more grammar errors than even the most mentally stable grammar nazi could withstand, and will not update at all regularly. This is an ad-hoc fun experimental work with forced motives, plotholes, and static characters. Don't expect too much. That said, this mutated mistake of a short novella follows a ditzy MC who has been transported to a new world with the dubiously useful skills origin and enigma and the obnoxiously imbalanced skill, traveler. If you'd like more incentive to give it a shot, you will never get spoilers about the plot because there isn't one (Actual synopsis coming soon, relative to eternity)
