The Great Ruler Chapter 968 – Tianluo Array
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
There were two deep trenches on the ground in the huge stone square. At the end of each trench, two figures were freeing their feet, which were stuck in the ground.
Spectators around the square fixed their gazes on the confrontation in the center of the square. The mocking disappeared completely. Apparently, numerous people from the Nine Netherbird Clan were shocked, as Mu Chen had used his physical body to block Qin Xuan’s attack.
While everyone was watching Qin Xuan, who was pulling his leg out from the ground, he also took a closer look at Mu Chen. This time, his eyes were filled with seriousness.
In the previous confrontation, he realized that the skinny-looking young man possessed an extreme power. Although Qin Xuan owned a Divine Beast Body, and he had more strength than Mu Chen, he had not gained any advantages in the previous fight.
All this spoke to one thing. Mu Chen was a highly-regarded opponent that he should fight with all his might.
Qin Xuan took a deep breath and spoke slowly. “Looks like it was my misjudgment.”
“You’re polite.”
Mu Chen smiled, but he did not feel proud. Qin Xuan was indeed formidable. He had already circulated his Dragon-Phoenix Body to the maximum just now. Even so, he had not gained much advantage either in the close body combat.
In the past when he fought with the Prince of Netherworld and the rest, he would never lose out in body combat with his Dragon-Phoenix Body. But this time, it was not effective.
Obviously, it was tricky to deal with a top power who possessed a Divine Beast Body.
“To show my apologies, I will be using my full force now.”
Qin Xuan stared at Mu Chen. His eyes surged with sharpness again. He stomped his feet, and an ice storm immediately broke out from his body. In the falling snowflakes, a Frosty Giant Sparrow appeared behind Qin Xuan.
Eek!
The giant sparrow flapped its wings as soon as it appeared. A snowstorm swept out as a high-pitched cold shriek resounded through the sky.
Daunting spiritual energy spread out.
“Qin Xuan called out his Divine Beast’s form?! Looks like he is going all-out.”
“Mu Chen is really something. He has forced Qin Xuan to this extent.”
“But the outcome is obvious now.”
“…”
As the Frosty Giant Sparrow showed up, everyone started whispering again. From the expressions of the clan members of Nine Netherbird Clan, they had regained their confidence, as they knew Qin Xuan was genuinely formidable when he got serious in a fight.
“Nine Nether Frosty Sparrow?”
Mu Chen also lifted his head to see the gigantic frosty bird behind Qin Xuan. His eyes narrowed. This must be Qin Xuan’s actual body. Although it evolved differently and was not as rare as the Nine Netherworld Bird, the strength from the extreme cold was quite tricky, too.

Qin Xuan intended to go all-out now.
Mu Chen looked stern, and he clenched both his fists tightly. Spiritual energy glowed radiantly at the tip of his fingers.
Shoo!
Qin Xuan leaped onto the giant sparrow, his eyes even colder than before. He curled his fingers, and snowflakes quickly gathered in the center of his palm. The next moment, the snowflakes turned into a huge ice bow with ancient snowflake runes running along the bow’s length.
When the bow appeared in Qin Xuan’s hand, the surrounding aura turned extremely cold. The atmosphere was completely different than compared to before.
Qin Xuan locked his gaze on Mu Chen like an eagle. Without any words, he pulled his bow at lightning speed. At that moment, snowflakes swept out, and a ten-foot-long snow arrow was fixed on the bow.
Blue-colored ice was flickering at the tip of the arrow. It exuded a sharp aura that could penetrate voids silently.
The bow curled up like a rounded full moon. The snow arrow was locked onto Mu Chen. Qin Xuan did not give Mu Chen any time to react as he suddenly released the bow.
Bang!
A white glow flitted across the sky as if snowflakes had burst out. It was shot directly at Mu Chen’s forehead at lightning speed.
The moment the arrow was released, Mu Chen’s hair stood on end while a chill spread all over him. His eyes flickered with a golden glow. He stomped his feet on the ground and moved his body with all his might a few yards to the left.
Dong!
As Mu Chen dodged, the white glow hit precisely at the spot where he had just been standing. The entire ground collapsed into an ice pit.
Mu Chen reappeared at a distance from the pit. He felt a little stunned as he looked at the hole. He could sense that the rocks in the pit had been eroded by a scary, icy cold aura. Even a gentle touch on the stones would turn them into powder immediately.
The snow arrow was super powerful. The most formidable aspect was its speed. The arrow was so fast and furious, even though Mu Chen did his best to dodge, he was still not far from it.
While Mu Chen was astonished by the power of Qin Xuan’s arrow, he heard a faint cracking sound nearby. He lifted his head, and his eyes narrowed. Qin Xuan pulled his bow again while riding on his sparrow. This time, there were three long arrows on the bow. A glowing rune was formed by the snowflakes at each of the arrow tips.
Shoo!
The arrows came whistling loudly. Three white beams flashed across the sky.
Mu Chen hastily stepped back. He circulated his Dragon-Phoenix Body to the maximum. As the golden light shined, a few shadowy figures appeared. The incoming snowflake arrows were instantly broken into two when the figures showed up.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three banging sounds were heard. Another pit with an icy aura was formed in the stone square. Mu Chen was a little embarrassed when he reappeared somewhere farther away.
Qin Xuan took a look at Mu Chen emotionlessly. Without speaking a word, he again pulled his bow, now with five snow arrows.
Mu Chen frowned when he saw this. If he allowed Qin Xuan to continue pulling his bow like this, there might be a possibility that he could not evade his attack. If he were hit by one arrow, there would be a rainstorm of arrows waiting for him before he was totally defeated.
“This person is even better in his long-range attack.”
Mu Chen’s eyes flickered. He moved swiftly forward to Qin Xuan. Apparently, he was trying to get close to Qin Xuan, so that he could not use his arrows endlessly.
However, Qin Xuan smiled faintly when he saw Mu Chen’s action. He stomped his feet, and the gigantic sparrow lifted up. It flapped hard with its wings. A snowstorm burst out instantly within a 1,000-foot radius. The sparrow continued to flap its wings farther away from Mu Chen at lightning speed. At the same time, a few glowing lights shot out from Qin Xuan’s bow again.
Bang!
Another arrow was shot right into the ground in front of Mu Chen. The floor froze up rapidly forcing Mu Chen to step away. He paused his movement and forced himself to move in another direction.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In the next few minutes, Mu Chen was forced into a difficult predicament as he was trapped by Qin Xuan’s snow arrows. Every time he tried to dash closer to Qin Xuan, he would be stopped by the bizarre snow arrows. He could only dodge by shifting his position as he continued to evade the incoming rain of arrows.
The rest of the clan members around the square finally heaved a sigh of relief when they saw this. Over the past few years, countless people had lost out to Qin Xuan due to his arrow offense. Not only did they lose the battle, but they were forced to skip and leap under his attack. It was embarrassing.
By now, everyone knew that Qin Xuan was already undefeatable.
A few of the clan elders who sat on the stone seats nodded in agreement. Although Qin Xuan was a little scoundrel for using such tricks, the world only recognized the outcome. After all, no one would talk about fair play when you met other enemies in the Land of the Divine Beasts.
“Seems like the outcome is fixed.” The green-robed elder gave a faint smile and said, “It’s not even Jiang Ya’s turn yet, and he is already in trouble. I guess Mu Chen cannot be qualified for this vacancy.”
Nine Nether clenched her fist tightly. She gritted her teeth as she watched the slender figure running around in the square evading the intensive attack.
She knew that Mu Chen was at an extreme disadvantage now.
This fool, why doesn’t he use the Great Solar Undying Body? Nine Nether was feeling anxious for him. If Mu Chen had used his celestial body, he would not have been in such a state, even though he could not beat Qin Xuan immediately.
While Nine Nether was feeling anxious, Tianhuang Elder was watching calmly. He was observing the way Mu Chen was dodging. Suddenly, his eyes narrowed.
“This lad…”
Tianhuang Elder stared hard at Mu Chen, who was dodging all he could. Based on his understanding of spiritual energy control as an upper Earthly Sovereign, he vaguely felt that a stream of spiritual energy was flowing from Mu Chen’s foot each time he stepped on the ground.
Tianhuang Elder narrowed his eyes further. Like stargazing, the surroundings turned invisible to him. He tried to squint further.
At that moment, he suddenly saw a huge light array forming right below the ground of the square. Nobody had discovered it since it was hidden under the ground.
Is that a Spiritual Array?
Is he a Spiritual Array Master?!
Tianhuang Elder was stunned. Mu Chen was not forced into a difficult predicament by Qin Xuan. He made use of his evasion to set up a huge Spiritual Array around Qin Xuan without anyone knowing!
While Tianhuang Elder was astonished by what Mu Chen did, Mu Chen, who was evading embarrassingly, suddenly stopped in the center of the square. His feet stomped softly on the ground to inject his last stream of spiritual energy.
“Tired of running, finally?”
Qin Xuan said calmly, “Then let’s just end this.”
He pulled his bow once again after he finished his sentence. This time, there were ten snowflake arrows gathered on it. A daunting sharp coldness swept out.
Mu Chen lifted his head. He looked at Qin Xuan, who was pulling his bow and a smile surfaced on his youthful face. He said softly, “It’s time to end this game with you.”
At the end of his last word, Mu Chen stomped his feet hard on the ground.
Dong!
The land below his feet collapsed into pieces. The entire square suddenly emitted radiant light rays. A fearsome spiritual energy fluctuation burst out from the ground.
“Tianluo Array, activate!”

Afterwards, Arceus sends him off with the egg of a Riolu who will be his partner along the journey. Next thing he knows, he wakes up with a headache in the body of a five-year-old boy in the middle of a forest in Hoenn. Thus begins the journey of a Pokemon Ranger who will come to be feared by those hiding in the dark of the Pokemon world.____________________________________________________________Author Note:Please keep in mind that this is an AU (Alternate Universe). I will be taking aspects of the Pokemon world that I find to be the most fun and enjoyable and editing some things as I see fit. The world will contain some elements and characters from the anime, manga, and games, but it will also have some original characters and a mostly original storyline. It will not go fully grimdark like some gritty parts of the manga or some more realistic fanfictions, but also won’t be all sunshine and roses like the games. Overall, I do want to keep the story on the lighthearted side, but there will be some more serious plots as well. About 90% taking the story seriously and 10% wish fulfillment, I suppose. Note: I am also posting this fanfiction on Webnovel. No difference on release times for chapters. Also, as an update because of the people who messaged me about the multiple transmigrators, the existence of other transmigrators won't have much, if any, affect on the main plotline (or the harem if that's what those people are worried about). There will only be a handful of interactions with a few of the transmigrators during some of the more dangerous scenarios I have planned. I don't expect this to change anybody's mind, but thought it was worth mentioning. Also, I edited the first chapter to make this more obvious.Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or speak for GameFreak, Nintendo, or Pokemon. I'm just a fan having some fun in his free time.

Vree liked his humans. They were kind, clever, and tended to be adorable, in the way that a small, particularly spiny cub was adorable right before it bit you.
