Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 671 – The Legendary Princess
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
The night was silent. In the following days, the team Gao Peng led crossed the mountain range speedily, and they finally arrived at the frontier of Mingyu.
A war had broken out between Mingyu and Murong. The warfare between them was unceasing. From time to time, a few crazy monster trainers would rush into the enemy’s territory to carry out genocide. Both countries were shrouded in a solemn air, as everyone within the borders was in fear.
It was still drizzling. After the rain, the dirt road was covered in mud.
Right in front of them, a tall man with green skin was standing at the entrance of the town. His complexion was a lush green, as if he had been exposed to the sun for a long period of time, turning into a green plant.
Gao Peng was shocked. How could there be someone with such a complexion? Even I’m not as green as him!
Next to him was a Human-Faced Wild Tiger familiar that was crouching down. It looked extremely fierce with its huge face and flat cheeks. It was keeping an eye on all the people who were going in and out with its inverted triangular eyes.
“Move, get out of the way.” A shrill yell came from the other side. There were three roads leading to the town, and the sound spread from one of the other main roads.
The ground was shaking as a gray-skinned gigantic rhinoceros up to 30 feet tall was walking on the street expressionlessly. It was wearing an iron helmet, and two thick red iron chains were locked on its shoulders. Attaching to it was a lofty four-wheeled bronze carriage.
On the roof of the car, there was a little umbrella, small yet unique. A strange white-feathered parrot was standing under the umbrella, its eyeballs as dark as black onyx.
It was an adorable parrot. However, it wasn’t very likable when it spoke, as its voice was sharp and mean. “Get out of the way, you lowly peasants. If you guys get trampled to death, my little master will need to give out my food supply for a month as compensation,” the white-feathered little parrot said in a high-pitched voice.

“Huff.” Qing Qing burst out in laughter. She thought it would be for another reason. It seemed like the master in the car wasn’t very bossy.
“Where are we now, Robust?” a gentle and soft voice said from the car.
“Your honor, we’re now back at the Mingyue’s territory.” A bald and brawny man was standing like a tower on the chassis of the bronze carriage. He was wearing leather armor and wristbands on both his hands. His strong muscles were comparable to the governor.
The strength of monster trainers was reflected through the power of their familiars, hence they could obtain great power even if they didn’t exercise. Thus, the most muscular monster trainers were those who loved to train or those who trained their familiars frequently.
The window of the four-wheeled bronze carriage was opened, then a head leaned out from the window. Gao Peng finally understood that true beauty was, regardless of race. Her beautiful black hair flowed over her shoulders, her skin was as fair as snow, and her eyebrows arched like willow leaves. Under her crystal clear cheeks, the tiny blood vessels were obvious, but even though her blood was green, she exuded an aura of exoticism.
This town was located at the border of Mingyue, thus it was likely to experience war at any time… However, the fact that there was no army stationed in the town indicated that it had been abandoned. All the highly respected people had long fled, leaving behind only the interracial peasants.
People with dirty faces were hiding in the alleys or rooms, secretly peeping through the door to observe these nobles. Some of them hadn’t eaten in a long time.
“I thought that this place was also a paradise. Never thought that there would be so many starving people,” You Zijin said softly with a smile.
“Watch your mouth,” Gao Peng warned.
The man named Robust snuck a glance in their direction before retracting his gaze. “Robust, I remember that there’s a surplus of food. Distribute the grains that aren’t in use to them,” the girl in the car instructed.
“Okay.” Without hesitation, Robust searched through hundreds of followers behind the vehicle to find a middle-aged man in a black robe. After they discussed in a soft tone, the middle-aged man in black robe summoned his Space familiar. It was a white-skinned frog with a huge belly and a long horn on its head.

The White-Skinned Single Horn Frog opened its big mouth; vomiting large, sealed sacks. In the blink of an eye, the sacks piled up, forming a small heap in front of them. Under Robust’s command, the grains were distributed.
Gao Peng suspected that they used to speak the same language, as the interracial language was similar to the current language of the tribe. However, it was still hard for him to understand.
Furthermore, after so many years, the accent had also undergone some changes. Confused, Gao Peng could only understand a few words. Thus, he could only guess what they were saying.
“They were saying that we don’t look like locals and our trace is mysterious. Hence, they suspect that we are spies. Be careful. The bald one is secretly observing us,” said Gao Peng grimly.
The ten of them were shocked. They quickly gathered around with tense alertness.
At first, Robust could faintly hear their whispers, but he wasn’t concerned, even though they didn’t dress like normal civilians. However, Gao Peng and the others’ reactions made him nervous. Could they be killers sent over by Murong?
“Protect the little master,” Robust instructed the others around him. Then, he emotionlessly walked toward Gao Peng and the others.
“What do we do? The Patriarch told us not to expose our identity before we arrived,” Bei Huangmi said worriedly. How had they been exposed the moment they arrived… This was too much. They would definitely be laughed at when they returned.
“Play it by ear,” Gao Peng said calmly. He looked calm even though deep in his heart, he was panicking.
“Everything on earth withers!” Suddenly, an unkempt old woman hidden among the civilians stepped forward. As the gray spot on her chest expanded quickly, the old woman vanished and turned into a spot of light.
Boom! After a gray light burst, a huge Rooted Behemoth appeared in the same spot. The gray tree bark was mottled and rough. It had a winding waist, and the long branches ran through the ground like spears. The gray area was spreading around it.
After being shrouded by the area, some followers started to tremble, and their mouths opened uncontrollably. Their faces also quickly turned pale. Thump, all of them fell to the ground like wooden stakes.
Upon seeing this, Robust’s facial expression changed. “If you dare hurt the princess, you’re seeking death!” He turned around and stomped his feet. The air split apart, forming an oval void. A Blue-White Giant Tiger leaped out of the void through the channel.
“Roar!”
Robust joined forces with the Blue-White Giant Tiger. The next moment, the giant tiger’s eyes created a strong divine beam, and the transparent space quickly enveloped the whole town.
Through a leap in space, the Blue-White Giant Tiger instantly disappeared. Then the black spatial rift moved like a flying whip. All the tentacles of the Rooted Behemoth were cut off.
A strong intent to kill was flaring in the eyes of the giant tiger. “Split Space Decepticon!”
Boom! The Rooted Behemoth was instantly divided into two halves! The aftermath crushed the earth, leaving a bottomless crack up to hundreds of yards deep in the ground.
However, the Rooted Behemoth that fell on the ground was still alive. A large number of tentacles scurried out from its torn body, connecting it back together. Countless branches were also drifting wildly like giant pythons.
The tentacles were tearing up the houses as if they were destroying toys. The walls were easily pierced through, and the blood of the civilians spurted out everywhere as though green flowers were blooming in the town.
In the blink of an eye, countless vines shrouded the sky, turning it almost completely into a dense ocean. Outside, the whole town and the nearby areas were covered with tentacles, forming a big hollow wooden ball.
At the edge of the wooden ball, there were numerous vines connected to the surrounding forest, absorbing its power.
“Wooden World: everything under the sun.” A husky voice echoed throughout the town.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)
