Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 670 – Blood Lizard, the Giant Plague King
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“Let’s go. I’ll make sure that all of you return in one piece,” proclaimed Gao Peng.
The monster trainers from each tribe came forward and greeted him. They were all basically close friends of the familiars that would be sent out of their homes. They decided that it would be better to be closer to Gao Peng so that they could watch out for each other during their journey. One would think this was nothing more than a necessary relationship, yet it ran deep among their clans.
As Gao Peng turned, a voice behind him shouted, “Come back safely.”
“Okay.” Gao Peng flashed a smile and waved back at Bei Qing Yan, who stood among the crowd.
The old hag who was draped under a large white cloak stood beside Bei Qing Yan and wore an odd expression. They’re on surprisingly good terms. The old hag’s eyes suddenly started to spin as she burst with vigor.
Meanwhile, with a detailed map in hand, Gao Peng set off and led the ten trainers on their journey. As the wind blew, the sea of lush-green grass rolled in curling waves.
“Well, let’s get to know one another. Tell me your familiar’s attributes and tiers,” said Gao Peng to the ten trainers. Their overall abilities were still a mystery to him and because it was each person’s secret, most likely, no one was going to be entirely honest about themselves.
“I’m Bai Haixuan of the White Dragon Tribe, Overlord-tier monster trainer.”
“I’m You Zijin of the Black Tortoise Tribe, Overlord-tier monster trainer.”
“I’m Qing Qing from the Green God Tribe, Overlord-tier monster trainer.” Noticeably, this was one of the two girls among the ten of them.
“Bei Huangmi of the Northern Ice Tribe, Emperor-tier monster trainer,” the other girl introduced herself.
…
“I’m Ze Hai of the Poison Marsh Tribe, Saint-tier monster trainer.” The least noticeable among them was the last to speak. Instantly, Ze Hai caught everyone’s attention.

Saint-tier monster trainer?
It wasn’t very surprising, since there was Gao Peng, who was no older than 30 and already a Quasi God-tier monster trainer. Here was a peer who was a Saint-tier trainer, which was nothing to be amazed about.
“I think I might have heard of him. Recently, there was a rumor that the Poison Marsh Tribe had a powerful ace, but I didn’t think he’d be this young,” exclaimed Lei Hou of the Vicious Thunder Clan, an Emperor-tier monster trainer.
Gao Peng wondered whether if it was his own misperception, but Ze Hai appeared to have a strange but familiar aura. Despite Ze Hai not showing any form of a threat, Gao Peng couldn’t help feeling unsettled and turned to look at him a few times.
Everyone had their own methods for success, through luck and skills, as well as possessing the proper basics of cheating. Not only did Ze Hai possess incredible decomposition abilities, but he was also a transmigrated deity. Adding to that, he had cheating buffs as well as the divine artifact fragment. With these four elements within its grasp, only Fatty Big Sea could emerge as a Quasi God. He had never considered himself a genius—just a privileged cheat user.
If Ze Hai’s familiar didn’t possess the Sinner’s Gift, then he would surely also be an ordinary fellow too. They forged an unlikely friendship by cheating.
“Nice to meet you.” Gao Peng smiled and stuck out his hand to greet him.
Ze Hai was surprised that Gao Peng had initiated a greeting. He was wary at first but still promptly reached out his right hand to return the favor anyway. He seemed rather reluctant to mingle with Gao Peng, much less with the others. Without a word, he briskly shuffled to the furthest end of the group. It was obvious that he didn’t fit in.
“Your tribe sure is bold to have sent you,” Lei Hou said admiringly while he shot Ze Hai a thumbs up. In the Seven King Tribes, to have a Saint-tier monster trainer was like finding a black pearl, and people were usually reluctant to send them off in fear of a bad accident happening to them. That would be a pity.

Ze Hai furrowed his brows and swiftly closed his eyes without uttering a word. He couldn’t stand the attention he was getting, much less entertain them with an explanation.
They continued to trudge across a huge field, and at the edge of it was Jiutian Shidi. Beyond the horizon emerged the faint sight of a mountain range. The range was difficult to make out due to the distance, but a blue silhouette could still be identified.
As they neared it, Gao Peng realized that the mountain was barren at its peak, with just yellow soil and large gray rocks that remained. There was nothing scenic about it, only rubble and desolation ruling dominant.
The mountain range was so barren and desolate that it was as if a bomb had gone off there. Empty, empty, empty. It was barren as far as the eye could see.
As Bai Haixuan took in the sight, he felt a cold chill rise deep from his heart and couldn’t resist the urge to reach up to his head with his left hand. Only after feeling around for his thick mane did he heave a sigh of relief.
Gao Peng spread open his map and tried to gather his bearings. They currently stood at the entrance, and beyond that was a mountain range. This mountain range was as big as Africa after the Cataclysm, so naturally, everyone would have seen it.
After a long hike around the mountain, they finally came across human inhabitants. Between them stood quite a distance to the two Mutated Tribal Countries: Mingyue and Murong.
“We’ll head to Mingyue,” said Gao Peng as he put down the goat-skin scroll, leading the group to the northwest.
The moon hung high as night fell, the crescent moon replacing the sun. Under the brilliance of the campfire, the monster trainers released their familiars, who circled around them as the night cloaked them in darkness.
A group of Emperor, Overlord, Saint, and even Quasi-tier familiars huddled together. If the light from the fire had attracted any predators, well, they were in for a surprise.
That was when Gao Peng saw Ze Hai’s Familiar—the Blood Lizard, the Giant Plague King. It was a huge lizard, so large that it seemed like a small mountain crawling on the ground. Its body gave off a rancid, decaying odor.
[Monster Name]: Blood Lizard, the Giant Plague King
[Monster Level]: Levell 86 (Saint-tier)
[Monster Attribute]: Poison/Blood
[Monster Grade]: Epic/Legendary
[Monster Skills]: Venomblood Plague Level 7, Gigantism Level 7, Blood Decay Level 7, Enhanced Healing Level 7
[Special Characteristics]: Venomblood Infection (The vicious plague poison that circulates its body possesses a contagious effect that, upon creating a wound in the enemy, has an even more potent contagious effect to the infection, causing severe damage to its enemy. If the enemy were to die and their body contained residue of the plague poison, it will cause a secondary mutation and infection on the corpse.)
[Monster Weakness]: Death-type
[Monster Description]: Infected by the broken finger of the Plague God, its body contains strong Plague Power. Its regeneration is strong, and it’s gigantic, but it’s lacking in agility. It prefers to consume living prey and dislikes high-temperatures.
The broken finger of the Plague God? Sitting in the darkness, Gao Peng’s eyes lit up. Could Ze Hai’s golden finger be something related to the Plague God?
Gao Peng had initially assumed that the Water God, Sea God, and others were just a form of address for certain existences or even the statuses of these gods, but here it seemed as if that was no longer the case.
As long as the creation of gods followed a particular element, they would be referred to as the god of that element. This was the difference between the water, fire, and war gods. They didn’t exist for the same reason.

The Ancient Core: A Progression Fantasy
The title of [The Ancient One] is bestowed upon an unassuming, forgotten Core. Hidden deep underground, it lies in wait, biding its time as it learns the rules of its surroundings. Roaming beasts and unknown threats surely threaten the little rock as it sticks to the darkness, its one true refuge. This is a slow-burning Dungeon-Core fiction with a LitRPG-System. You can expect an extreme amount of kingdom-building, an more in-depth Mana-System, and a Evolution-System. Chapters are between the length of 2-4k words, though the first 50 will likely be closer to 4k. Anything after will have the average be 2.5k. I personally like explaining how things work a lot, so do have that in mind if you decide to read this fiction.
