Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 561 – Floating Light

Gao Peng didn’t express much emotion. “C’mon, can’t you just satisfy my curiosity? Since you want to recruit me, why are you always against Tiange Academy?
“This kind of behavior will only disgust me. How does that help with the agenda to get me to join the Youhu Tribe?”
“This, I can help explain. Where we come from, it’s normal for the tribe to be annexed. The simplest and most aggressive way to annex a tribe would be to weaken it; and at its weakest, when they have no strength to resist, take over everything.” A figure emerged from the woods.
Gao Peng recognized him as an acquaintance.
“Tong Xiang? Looks like the Sang Tong Tribe has a hand in this?” Gao Peng nodded to himself thoughtfully.
Tong Xiang looked slightly disconcerted. He looked at Gao Peng for a bit, then snorted. “This… this has nothing to do with the Sang Tong Tribe. It’s just about my displeasure with you. I was invited here to watch your end. I’m not involved in any of this other business.
“Anyway, don’t think that the White Dragon Tribe would send people to protect you. The truth is, even if your Southern Sky Group is destroyed, the White Dragon Tribe wouldn’t say a word.
“Had your grandfather agreed to be affiliated with the White Dragon Tribe, things wouldn’t have come to this point today. But your grandfather refused the recruitment of the White Dragon Tribe.
“Owed favors… are merely towards the son of the White Dragon Tribe leader, but he doesn’t have that great an influence,” Tong Xiang quietly said. He was unwilling to share these things with Gao Peng, but at Tong Ling’s reminder, he had decided to come over as an extension of his goodwill. Whether Gao Peng lived or died, it was none of his concern.
Yin You was slightly bothered. That wasn’t what you said in the beginning. However, as Tong Xiang was the only son of the high priest of the Sang Tong tribe, he wasn’t to be trifled with. Forget it, just be an audience. He isn’t going to make a difference anyway.

Clang. Xiaohua heard a movement and grabbed the iron railings on the side of the truck with both its hands and twisted it. The railings were twisted into a knot. It then impetuously jumped off the truck and walked to reach Gao Peng’s back. Moneymaker and Xiao Cao also came running from behind.
“One, two, three, four…” Yin You smiled. “Is this the tone you want to take with me, with these five familiars?”
Gao Peng chuckled. “As long as the restrictions of Earth Star aren’t lifted and only King-tier monsters can be born. Are they not enough?”
Yin You laughed aloud. “Haha, one of your quotes seems to be very suitable for you right now—you’re a frog in a well!
“Do you not know how special a day this is? Had it not been this special time today, do you think I would be here?
“While I agree that you have great talent, in your next life, remember that talent is just a gift. Before you turn your talent into real strength, it’s best to stay under the radar. Our heritage is beyond your imagination. “
Thud—
A dull noise came from the void. It was as if waves of water had wrinkled the surface of a mirror and rippled outward.
Gao Peng frowned. “There’s a new Spacial Rift here.” If Earth Star was referred to as a house, then all monsters and familiars, including humans, were tenants living in that house.
Spacial Rifts were the doors and windows of houses that were connected to other houses.
It was as though this house—Earth Star—was a few hundred yards high, but due to certain reasons, it had a ceiling that blocked everything above a height of ten feet! In accordance, the doors and windows above the ten feet heigh were also locked up.
But now, it seemed that the doors and windows in the area above ten feet had reopened… What did this mean? The ceiling would increase in height, and the height limits that Earth Star could accommodate would increase.
“The limits of the monster levels of the Earth Star are going to increase…

“Indeed, the level limits of the Earth Star is about to open, and this is specifically why I came to see you today,” Yin You finished.
Bang— Even to the naked eye, one could see a rippling expansion. Traces of cracks started to spread.
Xiaohua wanted to catch Yin You but didn’t dare to stand a talking distance away from him. It was likely that Yin You had come prepared.
Yin You turned and stepped backward, a silver halo emerging from his body. A floating sparkling silver metal ball orbited around him, making his movements seem more agile. His body appeared to be cloaked in silver.
“Hmm.” Gao Peng grunted softly, this was the first time he had seen a monster of this kind.
[Monster Name]: Meteorite Magic Ball
[Monster Level]: Level 60
[Monster Grade]: Perfect/Perfect
[Monster Attribute]: Galaxy
[Monster Skills]: When attached to an Level 5 star has Star Energy Manipulation Ability Level 5 Starlight Tide Level 5
[Monster Weakness]: Dark
[Monster Description]: A monster born in the realm of stars, it is occasionally found in other worlds because of Spatial Rifts. They are born with the ability to manipulate the power of stars. Due to their unique spirits and semi-physical bodies, they can be attached to any living organism and control the stars to strengthen that organism. They like organisms that are rich in star energy.
With the silver cloak, Yin You’s movements became very nimble. He could jump hundreds of feet in a small leap. Spreading opening the palm of his hand, he spurted a silver column of light onto Xiao Hua. Xiao Hua was immediately hit and rolled several times on the ground, its chest burnt rather severely.
Xiao Cao shook lightly. A white glow landed on Xiao Hua, and she recovered quickly.
Yin You stood at a distance, atop a tree; the silver light covered his soles and enabled him to comfortably stand on the leaves of the tree.
“You still have ten minutes to escape. The farther you run, the better it will be for you,” You Yin said bluntly.
Gao Peng snorted. “There are plenty of things to learn on Earth Star, yet you choose to learn to be pretentious.”
Yin You couldn’t be bothered to continue this worthless conversation with Gao Peng. In his opinion, this kid was completely out of his league. He had seen plenty of youths like him, becoming audacious once they had achieved the slightest success. This kind of person either ended up dead in a monster’s stomach or died in tribe battles.
Tong Xiang looked at Gao Peng’s calm expression and was suddenly reminded of Tong Ling’s words.
He couldn’t stop the lingering thought suggesting that many of this guy’s monsters hadn’t appeared. There was a possibility of them rising to Emperor-tier. If this was the case, then Yin You would be in for a tough fight.
The strength of Yin You’s Youhu Tribe was similar to that of the Sang Tong tribe, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been so eager to enter Earth Star. The truth was that the tribes that were truly at the top wouldn’t have been in a hurry to come to Earth Star.
Tong Xiang slowly took two steps backward, thought about it, then continued to take another two steps back.
Gao Peng looked up. It was a cloudless day. At this moment, he could feel something crack open. He also felt the restrictions on certain beasts in his Familiar Space being lifted.
“Roar!” A low rumble came from the void.
Space became twisted like crushed glass. Two large dark green bone fingers reached out from inside the void. A horn that looked like it was from a bull, golden irises, and a strong body radiated a terrifying aura.
It was a familiar—the Barbaric Emperor Mountain Beast.
“You might not have ever seen an Emperor-tier monster…” Yin You sneered.
Gao Peng snapped his fingers. The space around him contorted. A five-foot-tall familiar with a dark body and intricate armor appeared below Gao Peng’s feet. Its glistening arm blades were placed across its chest.
“Floating Light, kill it.”
“Yes, Master.”
Floating Light lifted its head, its eyes shining with brutality and a thirst for blood.

The 8th Day
One day life is good. The next day it isn't! The boundaries between... well, whatever they're between.. have shattered! Monsters burst out from cracks in the universe, and reality suddenly begins to function similar to a game -- but not a game that anyone knows all the rules about! Magic is suddenly real, but so are monsters and death! Lots of death! And the worst part of it all? I think we did it to ourselves! We invented video games, and personally I think that great Finger-in-the-Sky picked up a console somewhere and started playing them. Since He liked what he saw, he must've declared, """"On the 8th Day, let there be Game!"But what do I know about it all, really. After all, I'm just """"The Witness"""" forced to observe it all.__________________________________________________________________________Author's Note: There's a lot of tales where characters get stuck in a Virtual Reality. """"Sword Art Online"""", """"Log Horizon"""", """"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"""". This is a story told with the premise inverted -- instead of a person from reality going into a virtual world, what would happen if the virtual world instead came to reality?I want this tale to speak about the aspects of the game, as it has affected the current reality, but the focus of the story should never be on the """"reality-turned-game"""" itself, but on the characters and their oh-so-human struggles, personalities, and attempt to adjust and live within the bounds of their new existence. Hopefully this won't just be a story of """"reality turned into a game"""", but instead will be something more meaningful such as a story of the strengths, perseverance, and humanity of man-kind as they try to adapt and face the unknown.*** And, most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. ***WARNING: RATED MATURE M[18+] FOR GORE, SEX, VIOLENCE. The apocalypse isn't a pretty place to try to survive in, and neither is every scene in a story trying to describe it.

Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
