Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 496 – Da Zi’s Bizarre Encounter
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Where is this? Da Zi was too surprised to speak. When it turned to find the way back, it realized that the road it had come by had disappeared.
Da Zi was very upset. It held a crispy clump of thunder sadly and gnawed away at it. The sadder it was, the more difficult it was to accept the pain of not being able to find its way home. At last, Da Zi burped in sorrow.
What if I can’t find Gao Peng? Da Zi thought anxiously.
A red lightning rabbit jumped before its eyes. Da Zi was angered. I’m so pissed off. You knew that I couldn’t find Gao Peng, yet you’re flaunting in front of me. I’m going to devour you! So Da Zi rushed off to chase it…
In the vast void, there was an inexplicable world. It was extremely large. Thunder roared and lightning flashed in the air., and one wouldn’t be able to differentiate between north and south or see any clear road signs.
The vast void’s sky had a strange gravitational force, causing all living organisms to float. Da Zi had wings on its back, so it could travel quickly in the void without any inconvenience.
Not knowing how much time had passed, Da Zi finally caught up with the lightning rabbit. Its dragon claws grasped the body of the lightning rabbit. However, the moment the dragon claw touched its red fur, the smooth fur turned into a slender dark red arc. The arc exploded and spread out in the void, disappearing into the gap between Da Zi’s dragon claws. At last, it gradually faded away.
The red lightning rabbit turned back and smiled at Da Zi, revealing its two big front teeth. Whoosh!
It transformed into a bolt of red lightning and escaped. Da Zi was stunned in place. It wondered repetitively if it had done something wrong or made a mistake somewhere along the way. How had the rabbit escaped from its own claws when it had clearly caught it?
Had it just turned its body into a bolt of lightning? Lightning?
Da Zi was deep in thought, and it looked up seriously. For Gao Peng’s sake, I must hunt you down today! And then devour you!
After sorting out its thoughts, Da Zi put on a grave face and began the chase. Its three pairs of wings desperately flapped, and it was so fast that it formed a large blur in the void. Boom, boom, boom! A thunderous storm was stirring up.

Da Zi’s wings channeled the Electric element, and the scattered thunder in the air was pulled into its wings, becoming a lightning storm around its wings that filled the entire sky.
The violent seven-colored lightning storm drew out a long shadow behind Da Zi.
“There’s nothing that I, Da Zi, can’t eat! Even Gao Peng can’t stop me!” Gao Peng wasn’t there anyway. Da Zi was so arrogant that it seemed like more than a centipede.
Finally, the distance between Da Zi and the red lightning rabbit was becoming smaller, and Da Zi’s eyes were also brightening. There’s nowhere to run anymore!
Boom!
The lightning storm that was caused by its wings charged hard at the lightning rabbit, causing it to stagger and nearly fall.
Da Zi’s eyes shone brightly. Are physical attacks harmless to it? It only takes elemental damage? At that thought, Da Zi took action right away. It opened its mouth, and a thick plume of lightning gathered gradually…
Boom, boom, boom!
The lightning tipped violently, and then the electricity in the entire sky tilted. Thunder rumbled in the air, and the lightning ran amok. The red lightning rabbit was immediately shrouded in attacks and released a poignant cry.
Da Zi’s claws were covered with purple arcs as if it was wearing a pair of purple gloves. This time, the red lightning rabbit was ready to play the same trick, but when its red lightning was just extending out, it instantly rebounded the moment it made contact with Da Zi’s claws.
It was forced to return to the figure of a rabbit, and it opened its eyes wide, looking at Da Zi with puppy eyes. Its big eyes were so watery it seemed as if water could drip right out of them.
“Don’t act cute in front of me,” said Da Zi. Then it placed the whole rabbit into its mouth. “Hmph, I’m the cutest. That’s what Gao Peng said.”
After eating the red lightning rabbit, Da Zi suddenly felt sated. It didn’t know if it was an illusion, as it may not have been a real creature, but a satisfaction of the soul instead. It was as if every cell in its body was cheering and jumping.
Right then, silver-white lightning flashed in front of it, leaving a beautiful afterimage behind.
Da Zi touched its small belly. It smacked its lips, and followed right behind it…
Three days later, Da Zi felt like its back was so itchy that it couldn’t help wanting to scratch it. The day before yesterday, Da Zi had found this large luminous ball while it was pursuing a blue leopard. The ball was light, and it looked a little like the sun. However, Da Zi could sense the extremely concentrated Electric element in it. It was a type of Electric element that was compressed to the extreme, and a large amount of white light were on the surface. Each ray of light was as thin as a strand of hair, like highly concentrated white lightning.

Da Zi spent a great deal of energy stretching its claws to reach its back to scratch it. After scratching for a while, it broke all of its scales there. But after breaking them, Da Zi was actually relieved. It felt a lot more comfortable.
It gave a long sigh. A couple of tiny purple seedlings emerged from its wounded scale, and the area around the scale cracked. Tender, pinkish, new flesh was exposed to the air, and wings grew from this area. Da Zi’s body quietly grew.
With a gentle shake, the purple seedlings grew with the wind, and they grew rapidly in an instant. Within a few breaths, they grew bigger. The ends of the lilac wings were still slightly tender.
The part that connected the wings to its body was relatively small, and it grew thicker the further up it went. After growing this pair of wings, the hunger echoing from its soul was regenerated. Da Zi was deep in thought. Can I grow a pair of wings every time I’m full?
Da Zi then glanced with disgust at the wings that grew on its back. They’re too ugly. Only an ugly monster would grow wings. Has anyone ever seen a centipede with wings? Forget it. I won’t think about this anymore.
Da Zi shook its head. It laid on the large luminous ball again and continued to gnaw on it under its feet. “Well, it’s delicious.”
After happily fooling around for a few days, Da Zi seemed to have already forgotten Gao Peng…
…
“The chairman is back.” There was a cheerful cry outside the door.
Gao Peng, too, heard the familiar cry of the dragon.
As he opened the window, Gao Peng saw a large group of monsters, like a huge black cloud, flying over in the distant sky. The White Dragon and the Silver Dragon were leading in the front, followed by many other Flying-type monsters at the back.
Gao Peng even saw another dragon among them. It was another White Dragon, but its body was more bloated compared to his grandfather’s White Dragon. It had a slender tail and a flat head, its pointed horns aimed at the sky above its head. It was more like an Aquatic Dragon, and it had an extremely vicious aura.
Gao Peng saw the figure of the man standing on it. He squinted his eyes and summoned his familiars out to serve the guests.
“Is this is our ancestral land? The city itself is rather big, but there are too few powerful people here. We only have two to three people with King-tier Familiars.” A man stood on the head of one of the White Aquatic Dragons, his hands behind his back. He looked at the land under his feet in disdain.
He had been careful when he first returned to his ancestral land. He had been worried that he might meet a strong person, but he came in only to find that he was already on the top of the world.
The contrast made them feel slightly intoxicated and faintly enchanted.
Next to him, a man dressed in blue standing on an Icy Dragon shook his head and retorted, “They’ve just begun developing. After a few more decades, countless aces will emerge.”
“It’s not that easy to catch up.” The man on the White Aquatic Dragon smiled with contempt. He was a young man in a white robe that was made of some kind of precious silk, with a golden dragon sewed on the chest of the robe.
The group suddenly stopped as a vast cloud floated in the void in front of them. The dark clouds rolled, and a striking red light could be seen from the gap. Although it was just a dark cloud, they felt a sense of danger from it.
Beneath the dark cloud was a pitch black mountain standing tall among a group of mountains. It was neither superior in size nor height compared to the other mountains around it, but a glance at it made it unforgettable.
Suddenly, the mountain blinked like a mischievous child.

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
