Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 456 – Stripey’s Protection
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Three monsters had surrounded Gao Peng, and the atmosphere became eerie.
The Holy Lake Spirit was closing in on them; two smaller sized Stripeys had appeared before it. Three Stripeys had completely surrounded Gao Peng’s left side.
“Intrude and you shall die!” said the Holy Lake Spirit authoritatively. In its eyes, this human and his familiar had to die. When faced with a monster of the same level as itself… The Holy Lake Spirit had generally never lost any battles before.
Although it could only materialize 90% of its bodily potential, it could project a maximum of three projections at the same time!
Even if one Stripey didn’t prove to be much, most monsters could generally be defeated if three bodies with similar attributes beat them up altogether. The Holy Lake Spirit even thought that it could defeat the intruder by itself.
The pages of the Dragon Slaying Chapter started to flip; an invisible ripple that shrouded a few miles of the region appeared.
Gao Peng felt as if his body had been an extra membrane; it was as if the surface of his body was wrapped in a layer of plastic. This was probably caused by the Mystical Water Barrier of the Dragon Slaying Chapter. However, this power didn’t harm Gao Peng and Stripey at all. It merely weakened their abilities to manipulate the water elements.
Stripey’s attributes were Earth, Rock, and Lava. The barrier had no effect on it at all.
[Monster Name]: Mini Disaster Mountain Spider Projection
[Monster Level]: Level 50 (Lord-tier)
[Monster Grade]: Excellent
[Monster Ability]: …
The three projections all had levels below 50, none of them exceeding the King tier. Moreover, Gao Peng felt that these three projections were based on Stripey’s disguised form.
If Stripey was at 90% of its full power, their powers wouldn’t have been at such low levels. Besides, Gao Peng also believed that it wouldn’t have been able to project anything of Stripey if it had been at full power.
Boom! The sky rumbled with roaring thunder. A thunderous rainstorm started to fall on them. In the blink of an eye, the beautiful scenery had become stormy. The flashing bolts of lightning were accompanied by the roars of thunder.

The three mini Stripeys collided with Stripey. The mountains shook and the grassland which they had trampled on was flattened. Stripey raised its right claw and waved gently. The effects of the Guise Fruit disappeared.
The sky darkened and the mountains shook. The clouds above were ripped apart. Lightning struck the rock and shattered it into pieces. From the foot of the hill, the apex of the mountain couldn’t be seen.
The three projections were turned into a bunch of shattered rock pieces and were swept into the garbage pile.
The Dragon Slaying Chapter fled quickly, running far away to create some distance between them. It looked frightfully at Stripey, who had expanded a thousand times bigger than its original size.
The Holy Lake Spirit couldn’t react in time at all. It had completely exhausted its Spiritual Extract to make the three projections. However, it wanted to be near Stripey to enjoy the battle. Accidentally, it was struck down by Stripey’s attack.
Its body was immediately crushed as it fell from the sky with a jingling sound. It transformed into a small blue bowl in mid-air and fell onto the ground. The bowl spun for a while before coming to a stop. This was the Holy Lake Spirit that had been forced into slumber after its source was exhausted.
Gao Peng picked up the Holy Lake Spirit. His face showed astonishment. Semi-transparent words appeared at the bottom of the status bar of the Holy Lake Spirit.
[Can be fused with a monster.]
Can be fused? Gao Peng was curious about it. Monster fusing; it was the first time he had heard about something like this.
Gao Peng lowered his head and looked at Stripey. He checked Stripey’s status bar a total of three times to make sure that his eyes weren’t fooling him. There were no signs of any semi-transparent words indicating that it could fuse with other monsters at the bottom of Stripey’s status bar.
This meant that not all monsters could be fused together. Some conditions had to be met in order to fuse them first.
After the Holy Lake Spirit was defeated, the Goddess Stone and the Dragon Slaying Chapter grew anxious, immediately jumping toward Gao Peng to snatch the Holy Lake Spirit from his hands.
Although the Goddess Stone was King-tier, it wasn’t a combat-oriented King-tier. It was no match for Stripey in head-to-head combat.

After being hit by Stripey twice, the Goddess Stone panicked and decided to escape. Stripey became upset instead. You come and go as you like. Who do you think I am?
Bam!
Its claws blocked the Goddess Stone’s escape route. It had completely cornered her by placing its leg above the Goddess Stone’s shoulder.
The Goddess Stone glanced at Gao Peng. Although it was a stone, Gao Peng still felt a sense of apprehension. It was as if there was a pair of eyes on it, staring deep into Gao Peng’s eyes.
At the very next moment, the Goddess Stone released a blinding light. Gao Peng covered his eyes and looked through the crevices of his fingers. Through them, he saw a beautiful goddess who was wearing a yellow long dress and waving her arms. She coldly humphed at him. With just a gentle wave, a typhoon was summoned to carry her away; it was as if she was a fairy from another world.
Stripey looked down at her. The dark clouds above floated directly toward the Goddess Stone.
Boom!
The moment the cloud came into contact with the Goddess Stone, an ear-deafening roar could be heard, loud and clear. After a short while, a rock rolled out of the dark clouds. It was burned to the point that it was as black as coal…
The Goddess Stone was reduced to charcoal and giving off a burnt stench while green smoke came out of it. It was a horrible sight.
When the dark clouds dispersed, the roaring thunder could no longer be heard, and the skies cleared up again.
Gao Peng dragged the heavily wounded Goddess Stone back. He was rather meticulous and had noticed that at the bottom of the status bar of the Goddess Stone, there were also semi-transparent words that said it could be fused with other monsters.
The Dragon Slaying Chapter was the sliest of them all; the moment things went south, it decided to run away. Its pages flipped and the whole book transformed into a puddle of water, trying to seep underground.
However, it was too close to Stripey, and it had underestimated the capability of Stripey’s sight.
A reddish yellow light seeped into the ground of the Goddess Peak. The soil on the ground hardened until it was even harder than diamond.
The Dragon Slaying Chapter that had turned into water was blocked by the hardened ground; it wasn’t able to enter the ground no matter how hard it rammed through it. Alas, it was captured alive.
“The Shaman Canyon is a great place indeed,” said Gao Peng in satisfaction. He had found a King-tier monster and a Legendary-grade Lord-tier monster in just a single visit. Gao Peng continued to search the mountains and found two Calming Stones.
The Calming Stone on the left was six feet tall and had an oval shape. The Calming Stone on the right was only a foot and a half tall.
Gao Peng put the two Calming Stones on Stripey’s head. The three monsters, on the other hand, had been swallowed into its stomach for safekeeping. After feeding Stripey a Guise Fruit, Stripey’s size returned back to normal.
When Gao Peng was coming down from the mountain, the Goddess Peak was completely silent.
Even the surrounding mountains were exceptionally silent. Nothing was out of the ordinary; they just looked like normal mountains.
On the way back, the mountain peaks around no longer had the sound of dragons roaring. The sound of the lakes also could no longer be heard, nor could the sound of pages flipping be heard. The huge mountains were silent.
The creatures silently watched the departure of Gao Peng and Stripey.
At this time, the Shaman Canyon was still shrouded with heavy mist. Gao Peng took out his coat and put it on, then took out a fishing rod and began to fish leisurely.
The Shaman Canyon regained its usual liveliness only after Gao Peng and Stripey had made it far away.
There were two orange trees, three stones, a book, and a bowl on the moving island in the river.
One of the stones suddenly exploded into two pieces—one of them flew into the orange tree on the left, while the other piece flew into the orange tree on the right.
Gao Peng turned his head, astonished, and realized that the two orange trees had turned into two children who were donned in yellow shirts.
What the hell? The orange trees turned into humans?
