Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 392 – The 10th Familiar
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“How? I didn’t fool you, right? At first, when Stripey started following me, it was shorter than you, like a cute little spider.” Gao Peng smiled.
The White Steel Bladed Beast’s voice was trembling when it said, “You-you really aren’t tricking me?”
“Why would I trick you? Mainly, it’s because I think you’re a monster with great potential. I’ve taken a liking to your potential, but as for your height, you don’t need to worry at all. There may be some difficulty for you to become that tall, but growing to be as big as this skeleton will be no sweat.” Gao Peng kicked Da Zi to the back without leaving any trace.
Da Zi that had still been licking a piece of dried meat when it was kicked away suddenly. It rolled on the floor a few times, but nonetheless, it changed its posture and continued eating the dried meat without minding.
While the White Steel Bladed Beast was still in a shocked state, Gao Peng touched its head secretly. Mhhm, smooth and cold, the same texture of a motorcycle helmet.
The White Steel Bladed Beast’s heart was shocked and tangled.
Although I was beaten by this man…’s familiar, he should have a way to make me bigger. But if I agree immediately, wouldn’t I look like I’m easy to fool? The White Steel Bladed Beast sunk deep into its thoughts.
On the other side, Stripey’s body started to shrink from the size of a mountain to the size of a storied building after it ate the Guise Fruit.
It was 40 feet, equivalent to the height of a building with 20 floors. If one stood beside a 20-floor building then it would be a more straightforward measurement.
“Although it’s still tall… at least I can take it out now.” Gao Peng sighed.
Unfortunately, the Guise Fruit could not be taken repeatedly, otherwise Gao Peng would have let Stripey consume one more.
The few dried orange trees and the small cabin on the shrunken Stripey’s back looked particularly conspicuous. “This orange tree actually isn’t dead….” Gao Peng was at a loss for words.

It had been so long that Gao Peng had thought those orange trees were long shriveled up and dead, yet they were still alive.
Da Zi flew onto Stripey’s back happily. “Look, Stripey, this is the orange tree I grew for you. Don’t they look nice?”
“Yes, they do.” After it shrank, Stripey was rather lively, running here and there around the valley, and the fruit trees on its back swayed like braids on the head of a little girl.
Perhaps he was prepared psychologically, but when Gao Peng made a contract with the White Steel Bladed Monster, he felt more relaxed and didn’t suffer too much resistance. With the upgrade of Stripey to King-tier, Gao Peng’s soul strength grew a lot, giving him extra power to sign a contract with this White Steel Bladed familiar.
My familiar family can be organized into a football team. There was Da Zi, Stripey, Silly, Dumby, Flamy, Goldie, Treasure Sniffing Rodent, Xiao Cao, Desolion, and the White Steel Bladed Monster.
Raising his fingers to count, the number had already exceeded double digits, but the lineup of the familiar team had just begun to take shape. It was able to attack, defend, and heal, and now, even its only remaining shortcoming, assassination, was also filled.
Having stayed in the valley for a few months, Stripey left the valley happily with the team of familiars, Gao Peng riding on its back.
“Is there something that we’re forgetting?” Gao Peng muttered to himself.
“I remember now; the toy you gave me is still in the valley!” Stripey replied smartly.
The Bronze Qin Qiong Statue, which had just snuck out of the dungeon, froze in place after hearing this sentence.
“Is it obedient now?” Gao Peng turned his head and looked at the bronze statue.
“Extremely obedient. When I let it play with me, it kept me company and played with me,” Stripey giggled.
The Bronze Qin Qiong Statue, which was preparing to escape in the distance, ran to where they were after hearing Stripey’s words and squatted on the ground.

While the Bronze Qin Qiong Statue was kneeling on the ground obediently, the Desolate Frost Lion suddenly spoke up quietly. “This is…” The Desolate Frost Lion showed a tinge of disbelief in its eyes. “No, this is wrong, impossible. How could it be this one?”
The Desolate Frost Lion opened its eyes widely, stretched its head forward, and stared at the Bronze Qin Qiong Statue beneath its foot.
“What’s the matter? Do you know it?” Gao Peng was a little doubtful, as most beings from the Black Fog World probably had never heard of Qin Qiong.
“Animated sculpture? How do you have such things?” The Desolate Frost Lion was totally shocked.
“This should be normal.” Gao Peng wondered, Should it be normal for different monsters to exist in our world?
“Maybe this is normal….” The Desolate Frost Lion’s voice became low, but it still looked at the animated sculpture in shock. After hesitating for a long time, it whispered to Gao Peng, “In my understanding, such animated sculptures exist only in other worlds, and they are the native products of those worlds.”
Native products. Gao Peng couldn’t help laughing.
“Are you preparing to sign a contract with this animated sculpture?”
“No, I’m preparing to let it watch over the main door.” Gao Peng shook his head.
“…That’s not too bad. The characters of animated sculptures are normally very rigid and inflexible, so they don’t give up easily on assigned matters.” The Desolate Frost Lion yawned, found a comfortable spot in a ravine on the back of Stripey, and laid down.
After bringing the Bronze Qin Qiong Statue to the gate of Tiange Academy, Gao Peng instructed the guard, “This is a new teacher. You can call it Teacher Qin. The salary and… salary will be lower than Teacher Guan’s by half a grade.”
The guards looked at Principal Gao adoringly. Other principals hire excellent teachers to teach, and our principal engages Lord-tier monsters to be teachers.
After Gao Peng had left, the Bronze Qin Qiong Statue found a comfortable position at the other end of the school’s main gate. Looking from a distance, there was a 30-foot-tall giant bronze sculpture on both the left and right sides of the main entrance of the school.
On the left was Guan Yu, and on the right was Qin Qiong.
“Grandpa, I met the ambassador of the base city of Lusaka in the African region outside the ridiculous maze. From there, I learned that 620 miles to the west of the ridiculous maze is the location of the Spatial Rift in Lusaka,” Gao Peng said to his grandpa when he was eating dinner that night.
“Just 620 miles?” Ji Hanwu was rather surprised. “Does anybody else know about this?”
“The few that I rescued may know. One of them is a high-ranking senior official of Zimbabwe, and the other is a senior executive of the Black Badger Security Company. I’ve already exchanged numbers with them. In due time, we just need to send someone to contact them. I’ve already agreed to cooperate with their businesses.”
“Okay. I’ll leave this matter for you to handle.” Ji Hanwu continued eating.
Neither grandson and grandfather were worried that the two forces would cooperate with other forces on the other side of Yuzhou to exclude the Southern Sky. The rules of the new world were formulated by the strong, and they had become more and more adapted to the new rules.
“Don’t; I may not be able to do it. It’s better to leave it to you personally,” said Gao Peng while he laughed. “Stripey is still unable to pass through Spatial Rifts yet. After the Spatial Rifts become larger, your white dragon will pass through first to clear the way for business.”
Ji Hanwu slowed his movements, nodded his head, and promised, “Okay, then what will you do then?”
“Me? I’m going to do something big.” Gao Peng laughed with his mouth wide open.

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)
