Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 269 The Golden Hands
“I want the details.” Lin Xinrui nodded.
“It’s quite straightforward. We at the Southern Sky Group can help to promote your familiar’s grade. And not just one, but all of your familiars’ grades. We can even provide some of the materials.” Gao Peng and Lin Xinrui were staring face to face.
Lin Xinrui let out an involuntary laugh.
“What an offer. What do I need to give in exchange? Let me make myself clear, I only like girls.”
“You only need to sign an employment contract with us. You’ll even get a well-paid job,” Gao Peng smiled, putting down the cup of tea in his hands.
Become an employee at the Southern Sky Group? Lin Xinrui stared blankly at him. She went silent for a while.
“The government has also requested that I join them, but I rejected them. I don’t like to be tied down.” Lin Xinrui looked out of the window. “I like to explore the wilderness freely, without any restrictions placed on me.”
“Joining us won’t affect your right to do that. The Southern Sky Group doesn’t impose as many conditions as the government. We’re very relaxed towards geniuses.” Gao Peng smiled. “Because we know geniuses are rare. Being somewhat of a character is to be expected… Just don’t go overboard.”
Gao Peng leaned back on his chair and looked at Lin Xinrui leisurely. “If you can’t decide now, why don’t we just sign a temporary contract first? We’ll only sign an official contract after your first familiar has successfully evolved.”
So far, there were only three World Hunters in the base city of Yuzhou, which was why Lin Xinrui was so valuable.
After a short period of silence, Lin Xinrui nodded.
…
After he arrived home, Gao Peng tried to digest the information that Lin Xinrui had just given him.
While she was out in the wilderness, she had discovered a group of Golden Hands members. Their outfits had been very unique, so it was unlikely that someone had been posing as them.

Those Golden Hands had colluded with a large number of Mountain Spirits, as if they were planning something suspicious.
The Golden Hands had always had a notorious reputation. It wasn’t simply that Gao Peng and Lin Xinrui were biased against them.
Gao Peng had already ordered someone to gather information on the Golden Hands. He sat at the balcony and read the information while enjoying the sunlight.
The Golden Hands were made up of fanatic followers of the Holy Lotian religion.
Most Holy Lotian followers didn’t recognize the Golden Hands members as one of them. They saw them as radical extremists.
The reputation of the Golden Hands was bad in every part of the world. Even before the Cataclysm, the Golden Hands had always caused trouble. An independence movement had occurred in the Jinsha Nation in the past. Quite a few numbers of cities in the eastern region of the Jinsha Nation had declared independence.
The whole thing had been orchestrated by the Golden Hands. The cities hadn’t had their own armies, so they were quickly recaptured, and many of the Golden Hand members were immediately apprehended.
Afterward, some of the more fanatic members of the Golden Hands had started to adopt suicide bombing and human shield tactics. This caused quite a bit of trouble.
However, the law in the Jinsha Nation was a bit unique. Even though the Golden Hands had been designated a terrorist organization by most countries, the country decided the Golden Hands members who had not committed any crimes weren’t guilty and were let free.
The Jinsha Nation of the past was the current Jinsha Region. Only those who had committed crimes had been given sentences by the court.
After the Cataclysm and the establishment of the New World Allied Government, the Golden Hands had started to become even more daring. Because of the Cataclysm, each region didn’t have resources to deal with even their own problems, let alone issues in the Jinsha Region.
By the time the New World Allied Government became organized and strong enough, the Golden Hands had already grown considerably stronger and more influential than ever before. However, they had also become more low-profile in their actions.

In order to maintain the stability of the new government, the New World Allied Government had chosen to ignore the Golden Hands.
So that’s how it is…
Gao Peng gently massaged his temples.
According to the information he’d gathered, the Golden Hands was a big organization with a very strict hierarchy. Because of the distance between the two regions, even the Southern Sky Group would have difficulties in acquiring information about the Golden Hands after the Cataclysm.
The only thing they knew was that the Golden Hands had increased their power considerably by recruiting many of the orphans who had lost their families during the Cataclysm.
Gao Peng wasn’t the type that wanted to rid the world of evil. He also didn’t have that much free time. However, the Golden Hands were very extreme in their methods. Innocents would always be hurt by their actions. Most importantly, Golden Hands had traveled far and wide to get to Yuzhou. They were even collaborating with the Mountain Spirits in the base city of Yuzhou. This forced Gao Peng to give them more of his attention.
As the Southern Sky Group was located in the base city of Yuzhou, and those Mountain Spirits possessed considerable destructive powers, if he was even somewhat unattentive, Yuzhou could suffer a catastrophe.
“Really now, why can’t you guys just stay in the Jinsha Region? Why do you guys have to come all the way to Yuzhou?” Gao Peng felt helpless. He really didn’t want to deal with this. “Can you crazy people really work with those destructive Mountain Spirits?”
It felt like he was just minding his own business in his house, and out of nowhere, a group of crazy people had rushed into his house carrying a bomb.
Why would they do that?
The most important fact was that there were quite a considerable number of Mountain Spirits. No one knew the exact number, but Gao Peng estimated it to be at least a hundred. The weakest Mountain Spirit had the power of a Lord-tier monster. Each one was a force to be reckoned with, enough to be a threat to the status quo of the world.
If the Mountain Spirits were riled up by the Golden Hands, Yuzhou City would be crushed flat in an instant!
Gao Peng was able to picture this in his head.
That was why he needed to take action fast. If they were really scheming with the Mountain Spirits, then he would have to take care of the Golden Hands, no matter what the cost. Gao Peng suddenly had an idea. He had control over something that had a similar destructive power to the one possessed by the Mountain Spirits.
He didn’t know when, but Gao Peng had grown out of his high schooler mentality.
Grandpa was currently at the Southern Sky Group’s headquarters. Gao Peng remembered Grandpa saying he was busy during this time. The company was preparing to expand to Xiangxi and Xiangbei, so most of Grandpa’s attention was on that.
He couldn’t ask his Grandpa to personally deal with each issue that came up. Ji Hanwu was his grandfather, not his nanny.
If he always hid behind the protection of his grandfather’s wings, he would stay a young bird that never learned to fly.
Gao Peng let out a long sigh, thought for a while, and then started to dial a number.
“Old Huang, where are you? Xiaoyanshan? Okay. Go to the North Road exit and wait for me there.”
After he hung up the phone, Gao Peng squinted his eyes and looked towards the mountains.
So far, he hadn’t heard of anyone possessing an Emperor-tier familiar. If the Golden Hands had an Emperor-tier familiar, they probably wouldn’t have had to hide like they were.

Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.

(Part 1 of 3)【EDITING TO MAKE SENSE】**important** I know this story is a favorite of mine, and I want to keep it true to what past me wanted it to be... But as I re-read this I keep thinking I could've made it better, or it could've been done differently. So I've decided to try and edit/fix it up to make it seem... Better? I hope no one gets mad, and I'll do my absolute best to keep it similar to what it used to be, just know if you are revisiting this story there may be some differences, and past comments could be confusing. Thank for understanding, and I promise that I will try to keep it as similar as possible. **important**Potential Fixes: •Adding time skips such as weeks in between or specific time passsings to make the story seem a little more realistic, and not rushed•Adding more things to flashbacks, maybe adding a new flashbacks but only 1 or 2...•GRAMMAR AND TYPOS •SOME dialouge, if it doesn't sit right with me•Anything that doesn't fit or doesn't match the storycover by: rivila_cher"AH!"
