Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 167 Fat Happy Crane
Degenerates. They were rotten, addicted to short-term pleasures, and had no hope for the future.
This was the impression Baiye’s best gave Gao Peng.
Gao Peng nodded his head and didn’t say much else.
After entering the Baiye branch of the Southern Sky Group, Gao Peng was able to quickly finish the procedures of taking over. It was a straightforward process. There weren’t any power struggles.
Xue Hong, the manager of this division, was a married woman in her 30’s. She had two sons studying in junior high school. Her attitude towards Gao Peng was neither indifferent nor enthusiastic.
“Recruiting workers in Baiye district…” Gao Peng said with a frown.
“There are subordinates who will handle that. Young Master Gao can rest assured,” Wang Liang said as he nodded.
“Call me Head Gao in the future. I will deduct your pay every time you call me by the wrong name.” Gao Peng gave him a glance.
“Understood, Head Gao!” Wang Liang answered very cheerfully.
“…” Gao Peng suddenly found this to be very interesting. He had found this fellow’s weakness.
For some reason, what he was feeling felt very familiar.
“Head Gao, you don’t need to worry about the day to day running of the branch. You will have subordinates who will report to you about what’s going on. You only need to worry about specific recruitments and the transfer of personnel. This position gives you a lot of free time.”
Gao Peng couldn’t deny this. He only nodded.
What Gao Peng hadn’t expected was the training center for familiars at the back of the big warehouse, which even included some training equipment. It looked like there wasn’t a lack of people using the training center. Much of the equipment had visible wear and tear.
“Does every branch have such equipment? Gao Peng asked.
“Yes, basically every branch has some, but there are very few people who use it. Only those who have nowhere to go will come here.” Wang Liang smiled. “Those who are in the Department of Security and the Central Security Bureau have more advanced and luxurious training venues. They are regularly required to go to the forest for field training.”

Gao Peng muttered to himself. He looked at the worn out training equipment in the training center. He then went into deep thought.
“Okay. You can go do your work. If anything thing comes up, just report to me.” Gao Peng didn’t have the time to micromanage people.
“Flamy, come here.” Gao Peng waved at Flamy.
Flamy hopped over and flapped his wings.
Flamy had already reached level 20. He had very fast growth; he was a young familiar destined to be a Lord tier monster, after all. He only needed to train for about a month before he could be promoted to the Commander tier.
If Flamy was promoted to the Commander tier, it would mean Gao Peng would have a very holistic fighting strength. Flamy could also fly. This got rid of Gao Peng’s problem of not having a flying type.
There were a few iron poles in the training center. Rings were attached to the tops of the poles. The rings had a diameter of four meters, and they looked very large when one looked up at them.
This equipment was used to train a flying type monster’s agility and foundational skills. The poles could be arranged in different patterns to create different routes.
“Can you still fly?” Gao Peng asked Flamy seriously.
Flamy had a blank expression on his face. He looked down at his round belly and used his wings to touch it. He looked very troubled.
Cheep, cheep?
“Try to fly for a while.” Gao Peng walked forward. He arranged the rings into an uncomplicated S-shaped route.
“Fly through these rings. I want to see how much agility you have left,” Gao Peng said to Flamy, stepping back.
Flamy stepped back two steps, opened his wings, and started flapping his wings furiously. His single leg stretched out and leaped. There was a surge of wind in the training center.
The dust on the ground started to swell up, creating a gray dust storm. Gao Peng covered his nose and closed his eyes.
Flamy struggled to perk up his neck and then gracefully flapped his wings. He then flew through the rings like a missile.

Bang!
One of the rings was hit hard. It flew a few meters and fell to the ground, along with the fat crane. Flamy was knocked into a daze from the impact. He rolled over a few times on the ground. He then looked at the fat on his body in despair.
Gao Peng, on the other hand, was unfazed, as he was mentally prepared for this…
“Let’s try something simpler. It’s fine, don’t be discouraged. You need to believe in yourself. You can definitely do it!” Gao Peng walked forward to pull Flamy up and gave him some encouragement.
The rest of the training in the afternoon was filled with the sounds of Gao Peng cheering and the sound of Flamy puffing. After two hours of training, Flamy could finally fly, although barely. At the very least, he was able to fly in the correct direction.
A fat crane was circling in the air. He glided through all of the rings, then landed steadily on the ground.
Flamy widened his eyes and suddenly looked up to the sky and laughed.
Cheep, cheep, cheep!
As he was laughing, he suddenly let up a hiccup. A blaze came out of his long beak. Immediately after, a bright red light shot out from his whole body. Dazzling red flames emerged between the white feathers.
[Monster Level]: Level 20 > Level 21
He increased a level just like that?
Gao Peng’s eyes twitched.
However, in a sense, this wasn’t too out of the ordinary. Flamy had consumed a large number of items, he had gone through “harsh” training, and he was naturally gifted, so it was not unreasonable that he would be promoted.
But Gao Peng couldn’t help but feel that something was strange.
The corner of Flamy’s eyes was condensed with fire. They turned into light that scattered into the sky.
There was a squeaking sound in the sky. Strong flames sprouted out of his wings, then scattered about. They gathered together on the wings, connecting like threads. All the flames then merged together and ignited!
Within the flames, Flamy put in a great effort to lift up his neck and point his beak towards the sky. He spread his wings. Orange flames surrounded his whole body, and bathing him in the flame.
The fire also attracted people from the office. Some of them thought that there was a fire and rushed over with a fire extinguisher.
They then realized it was a familiar that was engulfed within the flames. Those who walked over did not know whether to stay or walk away. They could only stand there awkwardly.
In the end, it was Wang Liang who came over to ask them to go away. “Go back and do your own things. Don’t make a fuss. This is Head Gao’s familiar.”
The people left the training center.
Wang Liang stood in the distance and smiled at Gao Peng. He then nodded and left.
Gao Peng hadn’t thought that Flamy’s promotion would cause such a big spectacle.
This greatly increased Gao Peng’s anticipation for Flamy. It seemed that Flamy’s fire attributes had woken up. Compared to Da Zi’s half-baked electric attributes and Stripey’s earth attribute that only used his muscles, Flamy’s fire attribute was extremely powerful.
The flame lasted for ten minutes and then slowly died out. Flamy stood in the same place. His stomach was still very round… The only change was that the feathers on his body had turned light red. His figure had also gotten a little bit bigger after the promotion.
After Flamy was promoted, he flew up into the air with ease and confidence. This flight was much easier than before. Although he was still a bit round in his tummy, he was much more agile than he had been.
He flew through each of the rings with ease. It was hard not to feel happy when watching this.
Seeing Flamy’s simple joy made Gao Peng think of a phrase.
I will never feel lonely as long as I am happy.
