Monster Pet Evolution Chapter 120 Vicious Mantis
Dumby was wheezing. In front of it lay the Lakeside Giant Scorpion.
Blood kept coming out from the Lakeside Giant Scorpion’s wounds. The ground was dyed red with its blood.
It struggled to open its tired eyelids, squirming, looking at Dumby in fear. It wanted to retreat but each step back caused it to lose a large amount of blood.
It let out a fearful and powerless groan.
Dumby looked at it in silence and then walked forward. It held the scorpion’s head and gave the neck a gentle turn.
After killing this monster, Dumby’s expression didn’t change at all.
Dumby lifted up its head and looked up in the sky. It then turned around and the 16-foot tall Dumby looked down at Gao Peng.
Dumby then knelt down and carefully hugged its master.
It wanted to hug his master because it was afraid it might get too big in the future, and not be able to hug Gao Peng anymore.
Dumby rested its head on Gao Peng’s shoulder said in a muffled voice, “Thank you, master.”
If it weren’t for master, Dumby could have still been in a cage somewhere, counting down the days.
Dumby might have been a bit slow in the head, but it wasn’t stupid.
Gao Peng stood still. He wanted to hug Dumby as well, but when his hands reached out he went right through the holes in Dumby’s bones.
Gao Peng extended his right hand and placed it on Dumby’s ribs. “That’s enough. Da Zi might get jealous if we hug for so long.”
Da Zi, who was standing at the sides, started to worry. It started to pace back and forth, sometimes glimpse over, and then turn around. The feelers on its head started to move nervously.
They should only hug for a short while. They have already been hugging for so long! tt thought.
Da Zi turned around, raised up, and then threw itself at Gao Peng, knocking him to the ground.

…
Dumby was one of the fastest ones to finish battle. The only one who finished faster than him was the Black Anaconda on the site to his left.
Only the Black Anaconda was left In the center of the site. It lay lazily on the ground, its belly looking huge. People might have suspected that it swallowed a tire.
A commander tier monster was swallowed whole. This Black Anaconda was quite strong and Gao Peng couldn’t help but glance at it a few more times.
Usually, fights between commander tier monsters wouldn’t last very long unless they were evenly matched or if one of them had a life-reviving ability.
“She is the girl from Jun Heng’s family, right?” someone in the military base said.
“Yeah, she is Jun Heng’s only daughter. I think she is called Jun, Jun…” the officer was frowning. He couldn’t remember her name.
“Oh, I remember. Her name is Jun Mei Li!” the officer said happily while suddenly slapping his forehead
The atmosphere in the base suddenly turned awkward.
Jun Mei Li? Not quite…
“Don’t be ridiculous. I have seen that girl before. She has a bit of a cold personality but she is an alright person. Her name is Jun Moyi,” the senior officer said.
The officer who said her name was Jun Mei Li lowered his head awkwardly.
“Jun Mei—I mean Moyi—is quite good. The monster trainer next to her is also quite good. His familiar is a ghoul-type.”
“It is quite rare to see a ghoul-type here.”
“Oh, I know this boy,” someone suddenly said. The person who spoke wore a military cap. His face was dark, his eyebrows were thick, and there was a small scar at the corner of his eye. It was Instructor Chen.
“Old Chen, is that boy one of the students you are responsible for?” another person asked.
“Yes,” Chief Instructor Chen said. He paused for a while and continued, “He is also the youngest Monster Breeder in Chang’an City. He put in a lot of effort during the incidents with the Dead Leaf Locusts and Shatuoman Man-eating Earthworms.”

The soldiers were stunned. Many of them couldn’t help but soften their views on Gao Peng.
“Yeah,” the senior officer said and looked at Gao Peng. His eyes were smiling. He was thinking that that old guy sure had a good grandson.
“Hey, I heard that the young girl from the Jun family did not go to school after her senior year in high school. She just invited a few tutors to her house. She spent the rest of her time in the wild area with an expatriate team of the New World Allied Government. I don’t know if it is true,” an officer said.
“It is true. That young girl is a trainee of the New World Allied Government’s Black Flag,” the senior officer nodded.
“A trainee of the New World Allied Government’s Black Flag… She should be extremely talented,” an officer nodded.
…
The girl next to Gao Peng was one of those monster trainers that only focused on training one familiar.
After the battle, the girl was ready to leave. She turned around and looked at Gao Peng from the corner of her eyes. She saw Gao Peng still had two familiars waiting to fight. She stopped for a while, and then continued walking out.
After taking a half-hour break it was Da Zi’s turn to fight. Da Zi was challenging an elite tier monster.
It wasn’t much of a problem for Da Zi. Da Zi was already at the elite tier. Add that to the fact that he had a perfect grade, and the chances of him losing were almost zero.
The final challenge was against a level 14 normal grade Flame Bull. Da Zi bit the Flame Bull at the beginning of the round and kept biting.
Whenever the Flame Bull wasn’t paying attention, it would sneak up on it, bite, and run away.
In the end, the Flame Bull was taken down by Da Zi’s biting. It fell to the ground. Its eyes showed an unwillingness to lose, but its complexion was blue and its limbs were cold and stiff.
Finally, it was Stripey’s turn.
After half an hour, a monster was sent out. What came out of the vehicle was a slender yellow-green figure. The whole body was green and it looked like a jade carving.
[Monster Name]: Dead Leaf Mantis
[Monster Level]: Level 16
[Monster Grade]: Normal
[Monster Attributes]: Wood
[Monster Weakness]: Fire
Stripey’s attribute was earth, and this monster was a wood-type. This gave Stripey an advantage!
Gao Peng was happy. He made a fist with his left hand and put it into the palm of his right hand. Stripey would have a 10% increase from his original base point.
Elite tier monsters had a base point of 100%; adding 10% would make it 110%. Naturally, the higher the number, the better the outcome.
After the Dead Leaf Mantis came out of its cage, it became very vicious. It turned around and used both its claws to attack the cage, making loud bangs. It was aggressive and arrogant, a vicious creature.
When the truck started to leave, the vicious mantis flew towards it and attacked because it had locked it up. Sparks flew as its claws scratched the metal.
Stripey suddenly made a sound.
The vicious mantis stopped. It couldn’t believe that someone was trying to challenge it, showing an almost human-like expression of shock. It turned around and faced Stripey.
It used its claws to point to Stripey, then itself. It was as if it were asking Stripey if it were challenging it, the vicious mantis.
Gao Peng looked shocked. How intelligent was this mantis? It seemed that it could have the intelligence of an eight or nine-year-old human child.
