Battling Records of the Chosen One Chapter 251: Reunion of Old Friends
Edited by Lord Immortal
Mu Wansu was in a trance; the attendant next to her also seemed to have something on his mind.
With a little hesitation, the attendant gritted his teeth and said, “Master, judging from Childe Lin’s status now, he seems unqualified to have the chief VIP seat, doesn’t he?”
“Why not?” Mu Wansu uttered thoughtlessly.
The attendant took a deep breath and elaborated, “Although Childe Lin is now famous in Mist City and his reputation is in full swing, he is just a practitioner in the Human-gang Realm after all. He’s neither a dignitary nor a descendant of a noble family. But the chief VIP seats are for the most honored guests in Mist City, such as the governor of Southwestern Province Liu Wujun, head of Mist College Wei Lingzhen and commander-in-chief of Ziling Army Du Dongtu; only they can be qualified to have the chief VIP seats.”
After a pause, he continued, “If we let Childe Lin sit side by side with these big shots, it will spoil the rules and arouse a lot of dissatisfaction.”
With a hum, Mu Wansu said calmly, “Have you finished with your words?”
The attendant was stupefied, “What’s your idea, master?”
Mu Wansu coldly warned, “You’re right in all you’ve said, but you’re wrong about one thing: Lin Xun is different from all of the others. Remember, he must have one of the chief VIP seats. If anyone dares to snub him because of these, just pack up and get out of here!”
The attendant trembled, his head covered in sweat. He finally realized that his master was serious about arranging a chief VIP seat for Lin Xun this time!
But how on earth was Lin Xun different from others?
The attendant couldn’t figure it out.
In fact, neither could Mu Wansu do. Why would the third Childe Shi Yu personally give such an order? Was Lin Xun so important now?
This already made Mu Wansu a bit jealous of Lin Xun. It had only been more than a year since they last saw each other, but the world seemed to be more his oyster…
…
After leaving the Commune of Spiritual Tattooists, Lin walked along the street into the “House of Treasure Pills”.
The House of Treasure Pills was the top-class drugstore in Mist City where all kinds of spiritual pills were sold. They were all high quality and able to meet the needs of most practitioners.
Of course, their price was also extremely high. The ordinary practitioners could not afford them at all.
Most importantly, powerful pharmacists were residing in the House of Treasure Pills. Even some unique spiritual pills which one couldn’t find in the Commune of Spiritual Tattooists were sold there.
The Cloud-gang and Purple-spirit Pill which Lin needed for his cultivation could only be bought from here.
So far, Lin’s cultivation already showed a sign of Mastery in the Human-gang Realm. His cultivation had improved a lot especially after a lot of combat trainings these days.

If his cultivation could keep improving at this pace, Lin could fully reach Mastery of Human-gang Realm at least before the Province Test.
But he couldn’t wait any longer. In another month, he was about to enter the third test of Green-cloud Path in Heaven-accessing Place. He had only three tries this time, so he dared not to make light of it.
In order to be fully prepared, improving his cultivation had undoubtedly become a top priority.
With that, Lin naturally couldn’t do without the supply of spiritual pills. When he exercised his cultivation in the past, he had been taking the Sapphire–Gang & Spirit-refining pill, which was of decent quality but surely inferior to Cloud-gang & Purple-spirit Pill.
The difference could also be seen from their price. A bottle of sixty Sapphire–Gang & Spirit-refining pills was worth fifty imperial gold coins while a bottle of thirty Cloud-gang & Purple-spirit Pills needed a whole one hundred imperial gold coins!
A hundred imperial gold coins, amounting to ten thousand silver coins, could only buy thirty Cloud-gang & Purple-spirit Pills. It was really unaffordable for ordinary practitioners.
In the past, Lin would also be unwilling to buy such expensive pills, but because he had promised to help Liu Qingyan repair her Ancient-rhythm Ocarina, he received a full reward of ten thousand imperial gold coins. So, the Cloud-gang & Purple-spirit Pills were no longer a big expense for him now.
Exiting the Treasure Pill Store, Lin Xun had already spent a thousand imperial gold coins. Correspondingly, he now had ten bottles of Cloud-gang & Purple-spirit Pills.
Such a speed of spending money would surely make a lot of practitioners stunned!
But Lin Xun did not think so. In his view, the reason he made money was exactly to pave the way for his cultivation. If he had the money but didn’t spend it, that would be a true waste of money.
“These pills should be enough to enable me to reach Mastery of Human-gang Realm before attempting the test …”
Lin Xun thought to himself as he walked.
Before long, he was suddenly attracted by a quarrel. When he looked up, he saw more than a dozen strong men with ruffian looks on the side of the street surrounding a shop and scolding loudly.
Judging from their words, they seemed to be looking for trouble.
Things like this were very common in Mist City anyway. Where there were interests, there would be disputes. And where there were disputes, there must be no shortage of outlaws who were willing to give their lives for money.
But when Lin had a glance at the shop’s name, he couldn’t help being stunned. Golden Hall?
In an instant, he remembered that when he was in Donglin Town, Gu Yanping, the master of Golden Hall, had taken good care of him and had even helped him resolve a crisis personally once.
Now, seeing the brand of Golden Hall in Mist City, it was supposed to make Lin extremely happy. But when he saw those ruffians causing trouble, Lin could not be happy at all.
He went up, glanced at the group of people, and recognized Gu Liang, who was being besieged by the crowd, instantly.

Gu Liang was the son of Gu Yanping. When he was in Donglin Town, he also had a good relationship with Lin. Seeing Gu Liang here, he was sure that the shop in front of him was Gu Yanping’s shop.
“We’ve taken a fancy to this shop and told you to get out of here. Save your fucking crap, or I’ll kill you directly!”
A leading man in black said with a twisted smile. This guy was built like a god-damned face of fat, with a pugnacious look. It was obvious that he had someone backing him since he didn’t seem afraid of causing trouble in public at all.
“Dear friends, we can still negotiate. If you need gratuity, I promise to hand it over every month. I sincerely hope that you can have mercy on my small shop.”
Young though he was, Gu Liang had obviously been well experienced for he was now as cool as a cat with a gentle smile on his face.
While speaking, Gu Liang took out a purse and handed it over with a smile, “Please accept it.”
The man in black slapped the money bag away and said disdainfully, “Gratuity? Am I short of it? To tell you the truth, if you don’t give up the shop today, don’t blame us for what’s going to happen next!”
Those strong men next to him also sneered.
Gu Liang’s heart sank in an instant. He knew that the current situation wasn’t simple as protection fees this time. It was clear that someone was targeting at him!
“Damn it, why aren’t you uttering a damn word? Are you deaf?”
Seeing Gu Liang turn silent, a ruffian rushed out and raised his hand intending to slap him.
A sharp light flashing through his eyes, Gu Liang had already been pissed off. Seeing they were going this far now, he was also thoroughly enraged.
Just when he was going to strike, he felt a touch of dizziness. In an instant, there was a handsome figure in front of him.
Immediately, he heard the ruffian’s wrist cracked. With his arm twisted like the Chinese doughnut, the ruffian screamed in pain.
Lin lifted his foot and kicked him out.
“Lin Xun?”
Never thinking that he would see Lin Xun at this moment, Gu Liang was surprised.
“I’ll talk to you later.”
Lin nodded smilingly, then looked at the leading man in black, “Are you going to get out of here yourself, or you need me to help you?”
“Good lad, you dare to get a fucking helper! You’re over!”
The strong man in black burst into a great rage.
Thwack!
Yet before he could make his move, he got slapped on the face and was sharply thrown backward, his teeth loosening and falling, and blood gushing out of his mouth and nose.
Seeing that Lin Xun was so aggressive, all the other hooligans felt a shiver of fear run through them and realized that they might have been forced to an unfavorable situation.
Yet one of them yelled harshly, “Kid, do you know whom we represent? You know what, no matter what kind of background you have, you won’t be able to survive tonight if you get involved in this!”
Lin Xun didn’t even bother talking and just gave that guy another slap, causing his body to spin around several times like a top before falling to the ground with a thud. He was frothing at the mouth and unable to stand up again.
This scene petrified the other hooligans. They carried their injured companion and fled immediately.
Before leaving, one of them still tried to bluff, “You’ll see! You’re dead meat! You dared to mess with us. Nobody can save you!”
Lin Xun couldn’t help shaking his head repeatedly. They were clearly just a bunch of cheap hooligans, and it was very confusing that they dared to be so unruly.
“Lin Xun, I didn’t expect that you would have to witness such a disgraceful thing. Alas, it is such a shame. If my father were here, he would never have let this happen.”
Gu Liang smiled in a self-deprecating way.
“Your skills should be more than enough to handle these guys, but why didn’t you make your move?”
Lin Xun said with a frown on his face.
“This is not the right place for a talk. Let’s go inside first.”
Gu Liang’s eyes swept around as he led Lin Xun into a quiet room and sat down.
Then he explained, “They’re just a bunch of lackeys. It is the behind-the-scenes mastermind that concerns me.”
When he was saying the last few words, a worried look appeared on his face.
Lin Xun nodded before saying, “Do you know who this behind-the-scenes mastermind is?”
Gu Liang put on a helpless smile and replied, “It must be one of the other businesses in Mist City. After all, if Golden Hall takes root here, they undoubtedly will have to face a new competitor, so they will try their best to stop such a thing from happening.”
Lin Xun was speechless and said after a while, “This is a little similar to the situation when your father opened the first Golden Hall in Donglin Town.”
Gu Liang smiled wryly at Lin, “Yes, but I haven’t my dad’s method and cannot gain a foothold in Mist City by myself to open a new dimension in our business in a short time like him.”
There was a hint of pride in his voice. He had been regarding his father as an example.
Lin Xun said thoughtfully, “Gu Liang, do you have any specific suspect in your mind? Maybe I can help you sort out the problem.”
Gu Liang was in a daze as Lin’s words warmed the cockles of Gu’s heart. They had not seen each other for more than a year, and now they met unexpectedly in Mist City. Originally, Gu Liang wasn’t sure if Lin Xun had changed, but from his words, he knew that Lin Xun was still that guy who was loyal to his friends!
