Battling Records of the Chosen One Chapter 148: Chirp~ Chirp~
Lin Xun felt bursts of severe hurt all over, which made everything darken before his eyes. Lin almost fainted, and could not help gasping in pain.
“Chirp~”, a soft and immature sound arose.
Lin Xun lowered his head in astonishment, and found that it was a little beast which had run into his arms!
With its whole body shining with golden flame, the little beast had round eyes, round nose, round ears, and even its body was round just like a ball.
Apart from the five sense organs, the creature didn’t have neck, arms and legs, and the general impression it had given people was just one word-round.
At the moment, the creature curiously looked at Lin Xun with its sparkling and dark eyes wide open, and its round little mouth letting out chirping.
Lin Xun opened his eyes wide immediately. What the hell was it?
Who could have imagined that a mysterious bronze treasure case should seal such a little creature?
“What’s this?”
Shu Sanqi, Old Mo and Young Ke came up. They looked at the little beast in astonishment. Clearly, they also hadn’t expected that it was such a little creature that ran out from a bronze case which released terrifying and confusing waves of force.
“It looks like a golden flame beast but with completely different appearance. Look at it! Sparkling and beautiful,” Old Mo was amazed.
“There seems to be no record about this beast in Pandect of Beasts. It is so strange!” Shu Sanqi frowned. From the little beast, he keenly sensed a hint of fluctuating breath which was violent and daunting. It was so unusual.
“Lin Xun, do you know where it comes from?” Young Ke raised her eyes to look at Lin.
Lin rubbed his aching chest, and winced in pain, “I just know that the bronze case was from a golden flame beast, but I have no idea that the case sealed such a creature.”
The little creature seemed to think Lin Xun was talking to it, so it let out chirping, appearing to be happy.
Then, with its soft and round body flying up suddenly and snuggling up to Lin Xun, the little creature showed an expression of feeling comfortable and looked like a little baby who was nestling against his mother.
Lin Xun couldn’t help extending his hand to fondle the little beast. His fingers just felt like getting into a cloud of cotton, which was so soft, elastic, and comfortable.
The littler creature let out chirping, looking as if it enjoyed being fondled by Lin.
Not bad! After slamming away Lin Xun, the little creature no longer revealed any hint of danger, which made Lin not worry any more.
“A golden flame beast?”
Young Ke seemed to be thinking of something, “You mean the one that appeared last year in the Three-thousand Mountains? I have heard that the beast was finally killed by Young Sword King – Shie Yutang of the Green-deer School. Why is the bronze case in your hands?”

Realizing his words had revealed a lot of information unconsciously, Lin got anxious.
Lin was in a daze and said, “I just remember the bronze case had been taken away when the golden flame beast was still alive. And it’s just a coincidence for me to get it.”
Young Ke was about to go on with the enquiry when she was interrupted by Shu Sanqi, “Leave it aside. The urgent thing for the moment is to find out the identity of the little creature.”
Old Mo said in a low voice at this point, “The little creature indeed feels like the golden flame beast in a way, but it’s not real one. Maybe it is a whelp of a kind of beast unknown.”
Old Mo was a master in spiritual tattoos and was knowledgeable, but even he couldn’t recognize the little creature’s identity, which made Shu Sanqi and Young Ke feel a bit surprised.
“Shall we make a test?” Old Mo asked Lin Xun suddenly.
“How?” Lin Xun felt a hint of inappropriateness in the heart suddenly, and he sensed the expression in Old Mo’s eyes seemed to be different.
“It’s easy.”
Sure enough, next moment Old Mo looked exhilarated and crazy. Staring firmly at the little creature in Lin’s arms, Old Mo said swiftly, “Just like spiritual tattooists dissecting the body of a wild beast, we can peel off its skin, take away its bones, draw its blood, and check its spirit; what’s more, we can even dig out its eyes to identify some special functions maybe. Ah, and about its little head, we can strike it into pieces to see whether it has some structure different from that of other wild beasts…”
The more he said, the more excited he got. With saliva splashing throughout, Old Mo, gesticulating merrily, said, “Just think about it. It is a kind of beast that has never been seen before. We may refine some spiritual materials from its body which hasn’t existed in the world. If so, we may create a brand new spiritual ink!”
Before Old Mo finished his words, Lin Xun’s look changed slightly. He felt the little creature in his arms seemed to have sensed the danger too, since it was trembling and chirping constantly.
Even Shu Sanqi couldn’t help frowning, but he knew that most spiritual tattooists were just like this old guy. When they found new creatures, they would be so excited as if they discovered a new world.
Unexpectedly, Young Ke was the first one on the spot who couldn’t tolerate Old Mo any more. She kicked Old Mo into the air upon a pretty and agile side kick.
“Abnormal! Cruel! How can you kill such a cute creature?” Young Ke reproached him coldly.
Old Mo sighed bitterly, “Though the little creature looks stupid and cute, who can make sure that it won’t become very dangerous? If we don’t figure out its background, we may regret one day!”
Old Mo picked himself up, and came up to Lin Xun. Staring at the little creature with feverish eyes, Old Mo said, “For our safety, leave it to me!”

“No!”
Being determined, Lin Xun and Young Ke said at the same time.
“Chirp~” the little creature showed its teeth to Old Mo with its round eyes wide open.
The final decision was made by Shu Sanqi, “It belongs to Lin Xun, so let him deal with it.”
Lin Xun felt relieved in the heart at once, and Young Ke’s face turned gentle, which made Lin Xun not accustomed, since she had always been indifferent and cool. Was she really fond of this cute little creature?
“But, if the creature does become a threat to the safety of the camp, I’ll kill it immediately!” Shu Sanqi added. A fit of worry rose in Lin’s heart.
…
Late at night.
In Old Mo’s warehouse.
Sitting in the chair, Lim Xun kneaded the soft and round body of the little creature into different shapes as if he was kneading dough.
Sometimes it was twisted, and sometimes it was stretched like dough, which showed its surprising flexibleness and flexibility.
The little creature didn’t get angry, instead, it chirped happily, which sounded like groans of comfort made by a person when he was massaged. Lin Xun felt extremely excited, playing with it.
The little creature was indeed amazing. It looked like a little ball, shining with golden flame all over, but it felt soft and comfortable.
Swoosh~
It fell onto the ground, then bounced at once. Lin Xun threw it onto the wall with his hand, but it bounced once again.
It kept chirping, just like the jingle of a camel bell in the desert echoed in the darkness.
Sitting in the distance, Young Ke looked at what was happening silently with her chin resting in her hand. Rare tenderness rose on her usually cold and indifferent face.
From beginning to end, she didn’t say anything, but it was unusual that she followed Lin to come to Old Mo’s warehouse, and stayed for such a long time, which was rare for her.
Maybe she was indeed attracted by the little creature.
Lin Xun felt strange about this at the beginning, but then he was not in the mood to care more.
“I don’t know where it comes from. It looks like so cute, but I have no idea what it will become.”
Soon, holding the little creature in hands, and looking at the five round sense organs of it, Lin Xun felt that the little creature didn’t look like a descendant of a violent beast at all; instead, it looked like a pet which was stupid and naïve.
Lin Xun couldn’t help pinching the little creature on the belly violently, and a flash of fire ejected from its mouth like lightning.
Boom! A bottomless hole formed on the ground! The terrifying burning fire melted and evaporated all the broken stones there.
Feeling shocked, Lin Xun didn’t expect the little creature could spit fire which was so terrifying!
The power at least was equal to that of a strike from a practitioner of the ninth level in Martial Realm with all strength!
At the moment, Young Ke stood up quickly. Looking at the hole on the ground, she was also surprised apparently.
Looking innocent, the little creature chirped carefreely with its ball-like body rolling happily in Lin Xun’s hands.
“I’ve said that though the little creature looks harmless from the appearance, it is actually dangerous, and the hidden danger may break out one day,” Old Mo got close and muttered.
“If you have any evil intention, I’ll make you disabled first,” Young Ke casted a glance at Old Mo indifferently. Though she sounded calm, Old Mo got stiff all over, and couldn’t help laughing bitterly.
“It seems to be hungry…”
Feeling painful, Lin Xun’s fingertip was bitten and then sucked constantly by the little creature, as if it was sucking milk.
“Wait a moment”, Young Ke said immediately, and then rushed out of the warehouse.
Just a short while later, Young Ke returned, carrying a big Green-horned Wolf. Bang! She threw the wolf onto the ground, and said, “This female wolf has been kept after being caught since she was pregnant. She just gave birth to cubs a few day ago, so it has enough milk.”
Lin Xun came up to the wolf immediately, carrying the little creature to look for the milk source.
But unexpectedly, seeming to have sensed danger someway, the wolf roared in terror, and violently struggled to stand up.
What?
Lin Xun, Young Ke and Old Mo all squinted their eyes, and they all realized it had something to do with the little creature.
“Chirp~ Chirp~,” the little creature got confused, and showed no interest in the green-horned wolf.
“Maybe we can feed it with some spiritual fruits and vegetables,” Old Mo couldn’t help offering advice.
Nodding her head, Young Ke left, carrying the extremely terrified green-horned wolf.
That night, with the all-out help of Young Ke, they tried various spiritual fruits and vegetables, but none of them were liked by the little creature.
It was even disinclined to have a bite.
Young Ke couldn’t help frowning, while Lin Xun got a little bit impatient. He slapped the little creature on the soft and little ass, and said, “I’ll be tormented to death by you.”
The little creature looked quite grieved with its eye wide open pitifully.
“Hey, it is a fastidious creature! Come here! Do you want to try the spiritual crystal?” with an expression of banter on his face, Old Mo took a hard spiritual crystal to tease the little creature.
Young Ke glared at Old Mo, and was about to have a cow when she noticed that the little creature took away the spiritual crystal in Old Mo’s hand swiftly like a flash of lightning, and swallowed it into its round belly immediately.
Old Mo instantly shouted sharply and miserably, “No~!”
