Battling Records of the Chosen One Chapter 145: Bai Lingshi
Boom!
Shiao Kun dashed at Lin Xun and maneuvered his spear with an invincible aura. The black demilance was like a flash of lightning in his hand, rendering people present frightened.
That was just another top skill called “Eagle Strike Spearplay”, which, once utilized, worked as if an eagle was soaring into the air driven with the momentum which was strong enough to tear apart the sky.
However, in face of such a mighty attack, Lin Xun showed no sign of retreating. He exercised the “Six-word Saberplay” to its ultimate, with the Greenwave Saber shining brightly in his hand.
He was at one moment as violent as gusts of wind and rain, and was as gentle and meticulous as streams of water at another moment. Sometimes he presented the power as destructive as raging torrents, and at other times he created the effect which resembled heavy snow smothering the world.
The way Lin Xun fought was capricious and unpredictable!
Different from the previous confrontation of their fists, the fighting now between Lin Xun with the saber and Shiao Kun with the demilance became fiercer. One was aggressive while the other attacked and defended with ease. The scene couldn’t be more thrilling.
This kind of duel had already been one of the top one-on-one fights in the Martial Realm. Shiao Kun was himself one of the young elites. “Storm-killing Boxing” and “Eagle Strike Spearplay”, which he practiced, were the exclusive powerful skills passed down from his ancestors.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
With the deafening clash, they were just like two mountains knocking against each other. Horrible spiritual energy spread around and forced those on-looking trainees to retreat again and again.
The most amazing thing was that Shiao Kun should have not been able to suppress Lin Xun till now. Instead, Lin Xun gradually reversed the situation and was now neck to neck with Shiao Kun.
It was a surprise to many trainees from other camps, who finally realized that Lin Xun was not as simple as they had thought.
The emotions of those trainees of Camp 39 became extremely complex when they witnessed this scene.
When just reaching the eighth level of the Martial Realm about a month ago, Lin Xun had already beaten Wen Mingxiu whose grade was also excellent in Camp 39 with only one punch.
In the following time, Lin Xun grew more and more powerful, his score became higher and higher therewith, and finally he ranked among those top ones by score before the quarterly assessment. Nobody knew exactly to what extent Lin’s fighting capacity had been improved.
Still, the vast majority of people couldn’t imagine how Lin Xun could won the first place in the quarterly assessment!
It was such an incredible miracle that many people were very suspicious of Lin Xun’s achievement and thought that he must have cheated.

But at this moment, seeing Lin Xun and Shiao Kun’s well-matched duel, many people finally realized that Lin Xun was indeed different now!
Judging from the fighting ability he showed at this time, he could even compete with trainees such as Ning Meng, Shi Yu, Qi Can and Gong Ming!
“This guy is progressing too fast, maybe it was a mistake to choose to be his enemy then…” Mou Lengshin murmured in the distance, with a complex look.
“Uh, you think it’s my fault?” standing beside Mou, Qi Can looked sullen, glancing coldly at her.
“No, I just express some feelings,” Mou Lengshin soon shook her head in a hurry.
“Humph, don’t forget about the vindictiveness of him. We are irreconcilable with him. Don’t have other useless thoughts anymore!” Qi Can said, stressing each word.
Mou Lengshin fell silent.
“I didn’t expect that this guy has grown so powerful after the last monthly assessment,” on the other side, Lei Shinyue frowned, feeling great pressure from Lin Xun.
“He is truly very strong. The saberplay he uses is very unique. It’s for the real kill. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to exert its full power in the Martial Realm.”
Ye Qi narrowed his eyes, with earnestness on his face. “When I fought against him in the last monthly assessment, I found his saberplay well-matched with my “Soul-embroidering Sabreplay”. Given the chance, I would really want to have a real fight with him and see whose saberplay is more powerful.”
When hearing what Ye Qi had said, the trainees including Lei Shinyue and Di Jun were all stunned, not having expected that Ye Qi would think so highly of Lin Xun.
“He is really something.”
Rarely, Gong Ming, who had kept silent all the time, opened his mouth, “I’ve had a real fight with him. He was inferior to me in fighting capacity then, but I was still greatly stressed by the momentum and will he showed when fighting. Otherwise…Camp 40 wouldn’t have been eliminated.”
Gong Ming was one of the top strong trainees of Camp 40, and now he said this; it made others speechless for a short while and everyone’s mind was in a tumult.
“Alas! It’s setting people on edge,” very depressed, Ning Meng exhaled deeply.
“Well, I do think that, after today’s fight, all wise people will know that Lin Xun is never a person with unearned repute.”
Shi Yu smiled lightly in a relaxed way.
“What do you mean?” Ning Meng frowned, “If he can’t beat Shiao Kun, who will buy that he did rank first in the quarterly assessment?”
“Ah, do you ever speak with your head?” Shi Yu chuckled, “In the quarterly assessment, who was not fully equipped with spiritual equipment? Go to ask those who passed the quarterly assessment, who is confident enough to kill a Barbarian Soldier solely by pure fighting capacity?”

After a pause, Shi Yu continued, “Any wise one will understand why Lin Xun didn’t cheat. How could those drillmasters not see it through if he cheated?”
Ning Meng frowned, “But I am really in a fret. If it was I that fought with Shiao Kun, I would have forced this guy to yield and kneel for mercy long ago!”
Shi Yu nodded and said, “Whatever the outcome of this fighting is, Shiao Kun was doomed to be unable to stop the progress of Lin Xun.”
Ning Meng also nodded.
Both of them were well aware that what Lin Xun lacked now was only time.
When Lin Xun reached the ninth level of the Martial Realm, he would be capable enough to compete with any of the other top trainees, let alone Shiao Kun!
This was called potential.
Shiao Kun, instead, was already at the ninth level of the Martial Realm and had ancestral exclusive skills. But he had not been able to suppress Lin Xun even till now. Even if Shiao won in the end, it would be surely dishonorable for him.
Anyone with a discerning eye could see this by the situation.
…
The fighting had already continued for a good fifteen minutes.
Shiao Kun looked sullen, with anger burning in his body. Of course, he knew that it had been humiliating enough that with present cultivation and exclusive skills he had mastered, he had not been able to suppress Lin Xun, an eighth-level practitioner of the Martial Realm, till now.
Shiao Kun had thought that even if this fight turned into a war of attrition, he could wear Lin down by a higher level of cultivation he had. But unexpectedly…Lin Xun showed no sign of weakness till now.
How was that possible?
Could this guy already possess spiritual energy far finer than what a ninth-level practitioner could own, while he was yet at the eighth level of the Martial Realm?
What worried Shiao the most was that, as he went deep into the battle with Lin Xun, he had acutely found that in addition to the vigorousness of spiritual energy Lin had, the quality of Lin’s spiritual energy was also dreadfully pure, even purer than his own! So, the power was extremely great.
Otherwise, Shiao Kun would have been capable enough to win the fight earlier with absolute power and by no exclusive skill.
It was quite incredible that a trainee at the eighth level of the Martial Realm could have such a robust foundation of cultivation and such superb quality of spiritual energy.
At this time, Shiao Kun had grown a bit frightened. What would be the result if Lin were at the ninth level of the Martial Realm?
Shiao dare not to think about that!
…
The atmosphere in the field gradually became subtle, and many people were aware that Shiao Kun now was like riding on a tiger – afraid to go on and unable to get down.
Instead, Lin Xun, the lad who they incessantly questioned, showed incredible indomitable spirit and strength as the duel continued.
A lot of people couldn’t accept what they had seen.
All at once, an ethereal voice arose – –
“There is already no need to keep fighting. Shiao Kun, come back.”
With the voice, all people felt their vision blurred. Then a graceful figure already stood on the battle field.
Whoosh!
The black demilance Shiao Kun stabbed out was gently held back by a fair hand, and, with a gentle tug, Shiao Kun had been thrown backwards.
At the same time, Lin Xun also felt his saber was shackled and was then dragged sideways by a kind of terrifying force.
Who?
Shiao Kun and Lin Xun were both surprised and looked towards that graceful figure which suddenly appeared in the field.
Not only them but all the other present subconsciously cast their eyes in the same direction.
It was a 14-or-15-year-old girl with long black hair which was like a waterfall and hung down to her waist. She had beautiful arched eyebrows and a straight nose. Her lips were pink and her fair oval face held a pure and ethereal temperament.
Just simply standing there, she struck people with her delicate grace and unworldly beauty, as if she had come from an otherworldly sort of place.
Bai Lingshi!
At the sight of her, a name came to all people’s mind nearly at the same time. All were impressed and soon felt a sense of inferiority.
As if it were not a fair maiden but an impeccable and ethereal faery that was standing in front of them. All people lapsed into a brief silence.
Originally, Shiao Kun was very displeased when he was asked to stop fighting. Whereas, his inner rage disappeared suddenly when he found that it was Bai Lingshi. Only a trace of unwillingness was showed on his face.
Lin Xun frowned for the fight was interrupted by the sudden appearance of Bai Lingshi. Having seen the incomparable beauty of Shia Zhi, Lin wasn’t very much impressed by the ethereal beauty of Bai Lingshi.
“Well, young lady. Do you know we are in the battle of personal honor? You are way out of line,” Lin Xun said seriously, not showing any respect.
A lot of people’s expressions became weird. What battle of honor? He just couldn’t let go of 2,000 Condensate Pills.
What was more, Shiao Kun would not necessarily lose the battle. This guy was just too shameless!
The most infuriating thing was that Lin Xun should blame Bai Lingshi in her face. This made many people feel angry and think Lin Xun was a man of no manners and his words blasphemed Bai Lingshi.
