Chapter 270: 270
Chapter 270: Departure And Travel
“President, this is not about acting alone. At this stage, I have no choice but to make this decision,” Wang Teng said helplessly.
“You’re right.” Peng Yuanshan nodded. “It’s unfair to put you with the other freshmen with your ability.”
“It’s not about fairness. Everyone has their own path. This is just my choice,” Wang Teng said.
“I will accept your request.” Peng Yuanshan didn’t say anything else. He agreed.
“Thank you, president!” Wang Teng was grateful.
Every school had its rules. Especially in Huanghai Military Academy, the rules were stricter.
Freshmen were not allowed to leave the school for no reason. However, Peng Yuanshan had made an exception for him.
“Don’t thank me so early. I will allow you to take a long break, but you must promise me a few things,” Peng Yuanshan said.
“Please say it.”
“I don’t care how you study. In the semester finals, you must get excellent marks for all your courses. You will also have to reach 5-star soldier level,” Peng Yuanshan said.
“No problem,” Wang Teng agreed without any hesitation.
Peng Yuanshan probably didn’t know that these weren’t difficult for him at all.
He would only need to spend some time picking up attributes for his theory courses. By then, it would be hard for him to fail. As for reaching 5-star soldier level, he was only one level away. There was still a long time until the semester exam. He would definitely be able to reach it.
“That was a fast reply. It looks like you’re really confident. Is my request a little too low?” Peng Yuanshan smiled and asked.
“Erm, I think that it’s enough. We need to give the other students some room to catch up with me. If I stand out too much, they will feel inferior,” Wang Teng replied shamelessly.
“You little brat!” Peng Yuanshan pointed at him with his index finger. He then shook his head and laughed. “What plans do you have?”
“I will go to the Xingwu Continent,” Wang Teng replied.
“I guessed that.” Peng Yuanshan pondered before suggesting, “When you go to the Xingwu Continent, don’t just think about killing star beasts and doing missions. There are many things you can learn there. From what I know, some people disguise themselves as locals and merge with the people there. They roam the Xingwu Continent to acquire their knowledge and wisdom. You will have many gains.”
“You can do that?” Wang Teng opened his eyes wide.
“How do you think we interacted with them at the start?” Peng Yuanshan said meaningfully.
“I see.” Wang Teng touched his chin. He was enlightened. “We merged into their culture and stole their knowledge. We shortened the gap between us. By the time they reacted, we could already speak to them on the same level.”
“We have our advantage, and they have theirs. We have common interests and goals, so we can maintain this so-called ‘peace,’” Peng Yuanshan said.

“Is it because of dark apparitions?” Wang Teng asked.
“Not really.” Peng Yuanshan stopped talking.
“You’re leaving me hanging again.” Wang Teng was speechless. He changed the topic when he noticed that the president had no intention of continuing. “Can’t the martial warriors from the Xingwu Continent tell that we’re in disguise?”
“As long as you don’t meet someone with strong spiritual power, they won’t notice anything amiss.” Peng Yuanshan said, “Of course, it won’t be a problem if you have a way to hide your spiritual mark.”
“Spiritual mark?” This was the first time Wang Teng had heard of this phrase. He was curious.
“Do you know why people from the Xingwu Continent aren’t able to pass through the dimensional rifts?” Peng Yuanshan asked.
“Could it be because of the spiritual mark?” Wang Teng replied.
“Yes. Based on our research, every world has its own mark. All the locals in that world have this mark. It’s in their spirit,” Peng Yuanshan explained.
“That’s why people with strong spiritual power can tell the difference in the spiritual marks.” Wang Teng took over the conversation.
“That’s right!” Peng Yuanshan nodded.
“Why can we pass through the dimensional rifts then?” This was the biggest question Wang Teng had. It didn’t make sense.
“This is related to world repelling,” Peng Yuanshan said.
“Are you saying that our world repels them, but their world doesn’t repel us?” Wang Teng was dumbstruck. Did the different worlds have their own conscience? Could things get more outrageous?
“You can say that.” Peng Yuanshan felt that he spoke too much, so he waved his hands and asked Wang Teng to leave. “Alright, you will know it when you should. There’s no use in asking so many questions now. Leave, leave. Don’t bother me.”
“Wait, you can’t leave me hanging. This is so uncomfortable.” Wang Teng felt extremely frustrated. However, he still got chased out of the office by Peng Yuanshan.
…
One day later, Wang Teng finished his preparations. He informed his family and told them not to worry. He even called Lin Chuhan to tell her his schedule in case she worried when she couldn’t find him. Then, he passed through the dimensional rift and left Earth.
Yong City.
Wang Teng bought a few Xingwu Continent attires. The attires here were quite vintage. Humans here were similar to the humans on Earth. There were both white- and yellow-skin humans. Their attires were different too. It was like the difference in eastern and western culture.
Wang Teng was a yellow-skin human. When he wore the ancient-looking attire, his aura changed entirely.
He wore an amazing outfit and carried his weapon carrier casket behind his back. He was like a handsome young master traveling through the pugilistic world. He was imposing, carefree, and charismatic.
A person with a handsome face would look good in anything he wore.
Wang Teng stared at the mirror and shook his head. He felt frustrated.

Sigh, I wonder how many innocent young ladies will be charmed by me~
After getting his clothes, Wang Teng arrived at the Force floating airship transfer station in Yong City. He was going to head to the other cities where Xingwu Continent locals were gathered.
The transfer station was packed with people. You could see many different races rushing along with their luggage bags, chasing after their Force floating airship. Shouts were heard everywhere, making the scene noisy.
After asking the person at the ticketing counter, Wang Teng learned that the nearest city was Yang City. He decided to make that his first destination.
“Please give me a ticket to Yang City,” Wang Teng spoke to the beautiful lady at the counter.
The counter lady looked at Wang Teng’s face. Her eyes shimmered slightly as she said, “Okay, please wait for a moment.”
After Wang Teng paid, she quickly handed him a ticket through the window.
…
“The Force floating airship heading to Yang City is about to depart. The Force floating airship heading to Yang City is about to depart… Passengers who haven’t boarded the airship, please board as soon as possible.”
An announcement rang out from the broadcast system.
Wang Teng hastened his pace and finally managed to catch the Force floating airship that was about to depart.
“Get in quickly. If you were a little later, you would have to wait three more hours,” the ticket officer smiled and said.
“Thank you!” Wang Teng thanked the officer and stepped into the Force floating airship.

“Wait, wait.”
At that moment, a voice came from behind him. Wang Teng looked behind. Two young ladies around 17 years old were running over frantically.
“It looks like I’m not the only lucky person.”
Wang Teng smiled. He didn’t take much notice of the two ladies and stepped into the Force floating airship. He found a corner seat and closed his eyes to rest.
After some time, the Force floating airship shuddered slightly and rose into the sky. Wang Teng looked out of the window. The building and humans below were becoming smaller and smaller. Finally, they turned into tiny dots.
“Qingxin, there are free seats here,” a voice broke his train of thought.
Wang Teng turned and saw the two ladies from earlier walking over.
“Hello, we can’t find any empty seats. Can we sit here?”
The two ladies looked around his age, and they were very pretty, especially the lady who spoke. She wore a long black dress, and her aura was elegant and noble.
“Sure,” Wang Teng nodded and replied.
“Thank you!” Fei Qingxin thanked him.
“You’re welcome. No one was sitting here anyway,” Wang Teng said.
“You’re a bad guy. You keep staring at our Qingxin.” The other lady beside her suddenly rolled her eyes at Wang Teng.
Wang Teng: (⊙_⊙)
Wasn’t it normal to size up a beauty when he saw one? Why was he a bad guy?
“Qiaoqiao!” Fei Qingxin scolded her friend. She turned and said to Wang Teng, “Don’t listen to her bullshit. My name is Fei Qingxin. This is Meng Qiao. What about you?”
“You both are not just beautiful, but even your names are pleasant.” Wang Teng smiled and said, “I’m Wang Teng.”
“Your name doesn’t sound like a good person’s,” Meng Qiao said. She didn’t seem to like Wang Teng.
Wang Teng: …
“My bestie has a sharp tongue. Ignore her.” Fei Qingxin smiled awkwardly. “Did you come from another city? Did you come to take a look at this city built by the otherworld?”
Otherworld! Wang Teng thought to himself. In the past, they always referred to the Xingwu Continent as the otherworld. This was the first time he heard someone calling Earth the otherworld. He found it strange, but he still nodded and said, “Yes. I came here because I was curious. Are you locals from Yang City?”
“Yes, we sneaked out.” Fei Qingxin stuck out her tongue cheekily. She asked, “What about you? Where are you from?”
“I am from another province. I’m traveling the Xingwu Continent and am preparing to visit Yang City.” Wang Teng had already thought of his excuse.
There were five main provinces in the Xingwu Continent, and every single one of them was vast. If he claimed that he was from a faraway province, no one would be able to find anything.
“You must be very strong since you’re able to travel the Xingwu Continent at such a young age!” Fei Qingxin said in admiration.
“Tsk, Qingxin, don’t get fooled by him. Look at how clean he is. He doesn’t look like someone who has been traveling for long. I think that he’s a liar who’s good at swindling young ladies.” Meng Qiao came to expose him again. She didn’t care about what he thought.
“I can’t bathe?” Wang Teng was speechless.
“Hmph, who knows if you’re telling the truth? You don’t look like a good person. You look like a pretty boy. You must be weak,” Meng Qiao scoffed.
“Qiaoqiao, this is too much.” Fei Qingxin smiled apologetically at Wang Teng. She hurriedly pulled Meng Qiao away. “What’s wrong with you? Why are you targeting him?”
“I’m not targeting him. He’s just suspicious. Qingxin, I promised your brother that I will take good care of you. I can’t let you get fooled by those stupid guys outside,” Meng Qiao said.
“Pfft, what do you mean by getting fooled by stupid guys? Am I an idiot?” Fei Qingxin rebuked.
“How will I know? The words ‘so handsome’ were almost written in your eyes when you looked at him,” Meng Qiao said with disdain.
“I didn’t.” Fei Qingxin immediately blushed.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

The Wandering God
First 22 chapters or so are undergoing editing Experiencing a lonely death. Yearning for a love that never came. Engraved with the curse of solitary. Death and rebirth, Rising from the ashes, he vowed. This time i will live to the fullest ! Rated Mature for Blood scenes & possibilities of : slight gore ( 14+). TWG is mostly a light, slice of life read with tints of emotional touches. The story will be easy going and it will lack suspense & battles, since the mc is very OP for a long time. The Harem tag, I can assure you it won't pass 3. This is a Xuanhuan [ Eastern Fantasy ] with a slight deviation to the Xianxia [ Immortal Hero ] genre. It however, breaks away from ordinary Xianxia/Huan tropes with the Mc's strength being over the top since the start. Also, I must warn you that I would never include an R18 scene.

The Ramayana - Lakshmila's POV
We have read The Ramayana as kids and always knew it to be the story of Rama and his consort Sita. Every character has an important role to play. But not all of them have found much importance is any of the version. One such character is Urmila and her story with Lakshmana. All versions mention Urmila's sacrifice as "Unparalleled" but none depicted it. This story is an attempt to present the story of Ramayana from Urmila and Lakshmana's POV. Note : This story is fictional. The characters are the same. This story is an insight of The Ramayana through Lakshman and Urmila's eyes. There would be Nobody's POV also. The events are the same but the depiction is part of fiction. Parts of the story is loosely based/inspired from Sita's Sister but I have taken creative liberty to give my character more edge and depth.
