The Legendary Rebuilding of a World by a Realist Demon King Chapter 77
Preparing for a Journey and the Army Chef
This was the information that Fuma Kotaro brought me.
There was a man who was hiding in a small house to the northwest of Castle Decarbia.
This man was a genius strategist.
Apparently, Decarbia had summoned him long ago, but they had not gotten along, and so he was banished.
Decarbia had meant to kill this Hero who had disappointed him, but after three failed attempts, he decided to leave the Hero alone.
“So, this is a man who rebelled against Decarbia?”
Eve asked.
“Well, it seems more like he ran. He didn’t feel that his master was worthy, I suppose.”
“I see. That is no surprise from what I saw.”
“He was shaped like a star, but wasn’t even the caliber of an asteroid.”
I said. And then I asked Fuma Kotaro for the man’s name.
“That is currently unknown. However, he was once very famous.”
After all, this man had been considered the greatest strategist in his world.
He had gathered 100,000 arrows in one night.
He was capable of causing convulsions in nature.
Such were the tales.
I had my own ideas of who it could be, but it wouldn’t do think about that just yet.
In any case, I had to meet this person first.
That meant another short journey. I would have to decide who will come with me.
As Fuma Kotaro still had intelligence work to do, he backed out of his own accord.
That was good.
I had enough Hero’s who wanted to stay by my side. It would cause chaos.
Unsurprisingly, Eve was staring at me.
The only reason she hadn’t immediately demanded to accompany me, was because she was still sorry about what happened at Decarbia’s castle.

I had consoled her many times and told her it wasn’t her fault, but she was likely to blame herself for quite a while.
However, I didn’t think it was a good idea to take Eve with me every time, and I wanted to leave someone here to manage Decarbia’s castle.
Gottlieb was back at Ashtaroth castle, but there would be no one here.
The entire purpose of this journey was to find a Hero that would help me run the place.
She would just have to accept it.
While she was terribly disappointed, she was not the kind of person to abandon her duties as a maid.
And so she began to prepare for my journey.
She put my undergarments, shirts, and food into a traveling bag.
“Master, these are your clothes for the first day. These are for the second day. These are back up clothes.”
She was so thorough that I joked about her being my wife. And then her face turned red.
Still, she continued to explain about the food and then quickly left the room.
Shortly after, Jeanne came in. She was chewing on some dried meat.
“Your maid looks awfully red. Has she caught a cold?”
She asked.
“She is a girl.”
I said vaguely.
“This time, I want you and Toshizou to accompany me.”
“Oh, that is unusual. You want Toshizou to come too.”
“Yes.”
I was relieved that she didn’t ask why.
I actually only needed one of them to come, but Jeanne would be angry if I left her, but at the same time, I didn’t want to be alone with her. It seemed like a good idea to not say any of that to her.
No good would come from offending this beautiful Saint.
Of course, Jeanne had no idea about my foresight, and so she chewed on her meat and said,

“So, the maid won’t be coming this time. Does that mean I will be in charge of the food?”
“I don’t think you should, just because you’re a woman.”
“Well, it was that way where I came from. And I wouldn’t mind making a meal for a beloved husband.”
“I suppose it was like that in your world. But I’m not a beloved husband. …And in any case, are you even good at cooking?”
“I cannot answer that, but I enjoy doing it.”
“You mean, you enjoy eating it. I have never seen you make anything.”
“That’s because I get fed three meals a day in the castle. Things are different when I travel.”
“This is the first time I’ve heard this. Very well then, you should make lunch today.”
“Leave it to me! You’ll never think of bringing that maid again once you’ve tasted my food. I am superior to her in every regard. The battlefield, the bedroom, and even the kitchen!”
And then she stormed off.
As for the kitchen, it was managed by an orc called Shiron.
Apparently, he was the descendant of a counselor to one of the greatest sorcerers, but he had no talents in that regard, and so he became a cook.
Orcs were rather picky when it came to food, and there were many with sophisticated tastes. So perhaps it was for the best. However, I asked him why it seemed that orc cooks rarely served bacon and sausages.
It turned out to be a misunderstanding.
“Some people think that orcs are pigs, but that will not do. We are not pig monsters.”
The rumor about them tasting the same was not true.
“People can be incredibly rude.”
And then Shiron showed me the bacon and sausages in his kitchen.
“As you can see, even orc chefs have pork. I also have plenty of ingredients and can make anything that you like.”
Jeanne heard this and made him stand back.
“I don’t need any pig helping me. I am going to make the Demon King’s lunch today.”
She said as she rolled up her sleeves.
Her arms were beautiful and pale.
It did not seem like she would be able to pick up large pots with those arms, but then again, she swung a large sword.
And so I decided to watch and see what she would make.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
