Chapter 38

Nero stayed back at a distance while they prepared and planned to attack the scorpion group . Due to them being so far away, the red scorpions didn’t come to attack them . The group kept themselves alert; focused on the red scorpions .

Nero looked at Jana and asked her, “Jana, how do you cast magic?”

“Hrm . . . ” Jana became thoughtful, after a few seconds, she responded to Nero’s question . “It’s a matter of intention . Not much different than commanding a finger of your hand to move, or even increasing the grip of your hands . Sounds simple, right?! But it’s really simple! It’s hard to shape the magic in your favor, but if you’re just going to manifest it; it’s not hard . “

“En . I’ll try . ” Nero managed to understand more or less what Jana explained to her . Closing her eyes, Nero concentrated and made a mental command, with the intention of manifesting light energy .

“O-Okay!” Nero nodded . She pointed her hand toward the elite red scorpion . Using her intent to drive out the energy ball, she shoots!

An immense detonation of light energy almost blinded them . They attempted to get their bearings and call out to each other . They soon realized no one could hear, as their ears were still ringing . It took a few moments for everyone to acclimate to the piercing sensation in their ears .

Needless to say, the elite red scorpion is dead . Even the other four scorpions nearby almost had the same end . It was a very powerful attack .

“ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?” Nero screamed without knowing .

“YES!” They answered in a loud voice . Since their ears were still ringing, they lost a bit of their sense of hearing .

“LET’S STRIKE WHILE THEY’RE STILL STUNNED . ” Shouted Jana as she manifested arrows of fire .

First of all, they knew they had to kill those scorpions . In a short moment, Choko, Jair, and Breno ran towards the red scorpions, while Jana prepared to support them .

Nero, on the other hand, spent a lot of her mana . She was panting and sweating quite a bit . There were only four red scorpions and they were already wounded by the explosion of light; it would be easy for them to deal with it .

Nero looked toward the red elite scorpion: surprised . She didn’t expect it to be such a strong attack . Her light attack struck the head of the elite red scorpion and pierced its tail .

‘I only hope I can still plunder it . ‘ She thought .

Nero sat on the floor to recover faster as she watched them fight . Although she knew she had more strength and attack power than they did, she still lost in fighting experience . Watching them, she thought she could learn a thing or two .

Choko was the first to arrive in front of the red scorpion that was level five . Although injured, the scorpion responded very quickly, using his claws, which looked more like a pair of scissors to snap in the direction of Choko .

Choko had to act fast . She flexed her torso backwards, then threw a fast and powerful punch towards the scorpion’s left claw .

Strokes of the chitin of the red scorpion’s claw broke off . The scorpion started to spin like a top due to the force of impact . Choko gave a loud, ferocious, but adorable scream; she then jumped up!

Tremendous damage was dealt to the red scorpion’s back, as her fist clashed with it . It left an imprint of her fist on its back as green like blood oozed out of the exoskeleton . Using the support of her other hand, Choko twisted and jumped into the air back on the ground back into a battle stance . She looked at the scorpion and saw that it was no longer moving .

She took out a towel from her hunter card . She started wiping the sweat off her forehead and cleaning off her gloves . She had a satisfied grin .

On the other hand, Jair and Breno were still fighting, separately, against the other red scorpions, while receiving support from Jana .

Jana’s fire arrows were enough to weaken the scorpions . Jair and Breno always took this chance to attack .

A moment later, Jair finally managed to cut one of the scorpions’ heads in half . He then went to help Breno and Choko who were now fighting the two remaining red scorpions .

Seeing that the fight was almost over, Nero approached the elite red scorpion . Looking in all directions, seeing that there was no imminent danger, she crouched down and placed her small white hands on top of the body of the elite red scorpion .
